Two former Eagles are predicted to reunite in the NFC South

USA Today10 hours ago
A recent theory predicts an Eagles reunion in the NFC South for a team few expect much from
At some point, we're going to turn the page. Like, for good... That's a promise. No, for real... This has been discussed since the Philadelphia Eagles began mandatory minicamp. Who knew that doing so would be much more difficult than anyone had previously expected?
See, here's the thing. 'Turning the page' is the responsibility of the Eagles' front office, their coaches, and the players on the roster. Technically, media members and the fans are allowed to look back as many times as they want to. That's especially true if said memory provides support for a current theory.
Six months have passed since Philadelphia gave the Kansas City Chiefs a beating in Super Bowl 59. "Let's run this (expletive) back." That was Nick Sirianni's eloquent plea to his then-offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore.
It was a nice gesture, but Moore's plans were well-known by that point. He would accept the job as the New Orleans Saints' head coach. Wow... He never even had to leave town after winning the Super Bowl.
Here's the thing. Coach Moore has a lot of work to do if he's going to transform the Saints into a winner. Step number one won't be much different for him than it is for any other head coach. He needs to find his franchise signal-caller.
CBS Sports predicts a reunion between Kellen Moore and Kenny Pickett
So, here we are. It's year one for Kellen Moore as a new head coach in the Big Easy. A former offensive coordinator by trade, his quarterbacks are Spencer Rattler, Tyler Shough, Jake Haener, and Hunter Dekkers.
No disrespect is intended, but none of those guys come across as someone who's going to get it done. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin believes he has the answer. He predicts the Saints will make a move to sign former Eagles backup, Kenny Pickett, down the road later this summer.
"Pickett was the first to be added to Cleveland's new-look quarterback room this offseason. He's also managed to be maybe the quietest of the bunch. (He missed) the Browns' opener due to a hamstring injury. Failing to separate from a 41-year-old Joe Flacco in practice was the first red flag. Or maybe we should've given more consideration to the fact he's on his third team in as many years. The former first-rounder may not be back on the field for a while."
Oh, wait. It gets better.
"(Getting on the field that late) might be too late for him. Stefanski could still opt to keep him as in-season emergency depth, but his chances of opening 2025 under center already feel very remote. He also lacks any immediate trade value given his position, though an eventual release might grant him another fresh start. Prediction: Released at final cuts, then signs with New Orleans Saints."
It's hard to hate the idea if you're Moore or Pickett. The latter arguably has never looked better behind center than in his lone start vs. the Dallas Cowboys last season. Moore doesn't have a quarterback who is better than Pickett on his current roster, and that says a lot.
Ultimately, much would need to be done to make this happen. Pickett is under contract, so if he isn't released, he'd need to be traded. Since being drafted 20th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, he has already seen three NFL locker rooms, and one has to begin asking if he is running out of chances.

Alvin Kamara fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions

Rotoworld Staff, Alvin Kamara 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: Kamara's eighth year in New Orleans featured a career-high 950 yards rushing, though his efficiency remained in a downward spiral. Kamara's -0.15 average rush yards over expected placed him eighth from the bottom, and sandwiched between Jaylen Warren and Travis Etienne. As usual, he saved face in fantasy with his pass catching, corralling 68 receptions for over 500 yards. When the dust settled, he was the RB5 by average PPR points. What's changed: Kamara has been impossible to kill in fantasy, but 2025 will be his toughest challenge yet. He is now on the wrong side of 30, and the Saints have finally moved on from Sean Payton's system. They will also threaten for one of the league's worst offensive environments under second-round starting quarterback Tyler Shough. That being said, only sixth-rounder Devin Neal has been added as touch competition, while gadget man Taysom Hill will likely miss the season. Outlook: New Saints coach Kellen Moore has always been fantasy-friendly, and Kamara's pass catching is one of the ultimate cheat codes of the past decade of fake football. As frustrating as it is relying on a player who is frankly scamming points, there is little indication Kamara will stop doing so in 2025. Browns All-Pro DE Myles Garrett ticketed after police say he drove 100 mph in Cleveland suburb

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett has been accused of driving a Ferrari 100 mph on a suburban Cleveland interstate. The Strongsville Police Department stopped Garrett just after 2 a.m. Saturday in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 71 near the Ohio Turnpike, according to a citation. Garrett is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday but he could pay a $250 fine without appearing. Garrett is expected to be with the Browns in Philadelphia for a joint workout with the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. Garrett was stopped less than an hour after the Browns landed at Hopkins International Airport after their 30-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. It is the second time in less than two months a Browns player has been stopped by Strongsville Police for speeding. On June 17, Shedeur Sanders was stopped for going 101 mph near the same stretch of highway as Garrett. In 2022, Garrett flipped his Porsche when he veered off a rural road near his home following practice. He suffered a sprained shoulder, strained biceps, cuts and bruises in the wreck and was cited for failure to control his vehicle and unsafe speed.

In GQ's September cover story, the Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, dishes on everything from life with Taylor Swift, and his post-NFL ambitions, to the one goal fueling his 2025 season - winning a Super Bowl. Travis Kelce opens up in GQ's September cover story Giving the outlet a rare look inside his personal life, Kelce told GQ, "It's the only goal. It's every goal." Though the NFL tight end admits that some of the side jobs he undertook last season did deter some of his focus, he is more motivated than ever. 'I think it might have slipped a little bit because I did have a little bit more focus in trying to set myself up. And opportunities came up where I was excited to venture into a new world of acting and being an entertainer,' he said. 'I don't say this as 'I shouldn't have done it.' I'm just saying that my work ethic is such that I have so much pride in how I do things that I never want the product to tail off, and I feel like these past two years haven't been to my standard.' He added, 'I just have such a motivation to show up this year for my guys.' Kelce has come a long way since he's entered the league. After being passed on by his hometown team, the Cleveland Browns, and by several others, he recalls crying in then head coach Rob Chudzinski's office when he learned he wouldn't get to put on the uniform he dreamed about one day wearing. "I literally was in tears. I said, 'I'm sorry I'm getting emotional. I grew up down the street. I would f******" do anything to play for the Cleveland Browns.' He looked at me like I was insane. I don't think he'd ever had somebody just pour out their emotions," the Chiefs star said. It's all water under the bridge now though, as Kelce has since left his mark on the NFL, earning five Super Bowl appearances and three of the coveted-rings. He's surpassed Jerry Rice as the all-time lead in postseason and Super Bowl receptions has made a strong case for being named one of the best tight ends to ever play the game. "New Heights" dropped a clip of the upcoming episode, which airs on Wednesday, August 13, on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing Swift as their upcoming guest. It's unsurprising that Swift selected her boyfriend's podcast to drop the news. The couple to be solid, and Kelce says the relationship has grown very "organically." 'When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with. We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values. It kind of just took the f*** off," he said. 'I hadn't experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions," he continued. 'When there is not a camera on us, we're just two people that are in love. It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but I would say that it's as normal of." Kelce has since turned Swift into a highly educated football fan. 'I sort of made her a football fan,' the Chiefs star said. 'She is the most engulfed fan now. She knows what the injury reports look like. She understands what special situations are, third and short—all these things because she just naturally loves to hear about my job.' Many fans assume that an engagement announcement will come in the near future, but that hasn't been confirmed. It's also unclear whether or not this will be Kelce's final season in the NFL. 'I know to stay away from a few things that I dabbled in early,' he said. While Chiefs fans will also have to wait on that news, the tight end did share some of his plans for his post-NFL life. He's in the process of opening a steakhouse up with his teammate, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahones, and has invested in horse racing and car washes. There's also been a few stints in acting, both in movies and on televi He's enjoyed acting, and his time working on his "New Heights" podcast alongside his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce. 'I don't necessarily know if I'll take it and run with it when I'm done playing,' he said, 'but I know that I want to stay around the football world as a profession and then dabble in other areas as well.' He continued, 'I think there is a happy medium... I do want to have free time. I do want to have the ability to be around my family. I don't want to get too busy to where I'm traveling all over the world and I'm not present at home.'
