Body of a man recovered after Broads boat fall
The body of a man has been recovered from a river in the Broads National Park.
Norfolk Police said officers, as well as paramedics and fire crews, were called to Lower Road, Rockland St Mary, near Norwich, at 17:20 GMT on Tuesday.
A man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene. The force said there were no suspicious circumstances.
In a post on Facebook, Hemsby Lifeboat said it was also paged by Humber Coastguard "to assist in the recovery of a casualty who had fallen from their vessel".
"On arrival, it became clear that there was little for us to do, as our colleagues from the fire service had already taken control of the situation," the lifeboat crew post read.
"With the season about to get under way, we want to remind everyone that lifejackets are a must-have whenever you're on or near the water."
The ambulance service sent two ambulances and two paramedic cars to the scene, while the fire service dispatched appliances from Carrow and Sprowston.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) -Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass on Tuesday lifted a curfew imposed on part of the city's downtown to curb crime in the wake of raids on undocumented migrants that prompted protests. The restriction on people's movements went into place last Tuesday, affecting about one square mile of the city's downtown between 8 p.m. local time (0300 GMT on Wednesday) and 6 a.m. the following morning. On Monday, Bass said the curfew would be reduced, with a later start time of 10pm, as acts of violence, vandalism and looting had markedly declined. On Tuesday, it fully ended. "The curfew, coupled with ongoing crime prevention efforts, have been largely successful in protecting stores, restaurants, businesses and residential communities from bad actors who do not care about the immigrant community," she said in a statement. The heightened immigration enforcement in the city prompted the strongest backlash to President Donald Trump since he returned to power in January, pitting the Republican enacting a campaign pledge to deport immigrants against Democratic leaders in California who opposed the tactics.

AMBER Alert issued for child abducted after fatal Norfolk shooting
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia State Police issued an AMBER Alert Monday afternoon for a 4-year-old boy missing after a fatal shooting in Norfolk. The child is believed to be in extreme danger. Norfolk Police said they are searching for 27-year-old Tyli Scott, who allegedly took 4-year-old Kai Foreman after a fatal shooting on East Liberty Street around 11:40 a.m. Norfolk Police and Virginia State Police issued different names for the child, but VSP has since corrected the error. According to officials, just after 11:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of East Liberty Street for reports of a possible shooting. Upon arrival to the scene, officers found a woman who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Norfolk Police Chief Mark Talbot spoke with reporters shortly after and provided additional details. He said officers arrived to find the female victim lying in the front yard of a home. Shortly afterwards, police said they are requesting the public's assistance in finding the missing 4-year-old, who is believed to be with Tyli Scott. The AMBER alert issued by VSP says Scott is 6'1, weighs 173 pounds, with black braids and was last seen wearing khakis, plaid shirt and a ski mask. Norfolk Police Chief Mark Talbot said Foreman was last seen wearing a gray True Religion t-shirt, basketball shorts and red crocs. A photo of Foreman can be found below: Police said Scott is believed to be armed and dangerous and that Foreman is in danger. 'We believe that this was a targeted event. It wasn't random by any stretch of the imagination,' Chief Talbot said. At this time, though, NPD is unsure of the relationship between Tyli Scott and the murder victim and the child. During his interview with reporters, Chief Talbot said Norfolk Police were requesting that Virginia State Police issue an AMBER Alert in this case. A short time later one was sent out. WAVY tried to access the VSP AMBER Alert website to see if a photo of the suspect was provided, but the site remains down. VSP says the two were last seen on foot. Suspected killer of Minnesota lawmaker to face 1st degree murder charges
The suspect, 57-year-old Vance Boelter, allegedly disguised himself as a police officer, then shot and killed Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark at their home early Saturday. "Our office intends to pursue first-degree murder charges against Mr. Boelter," Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty told a press conference. "The penalty would be life without parole." She thanked law enforcement personnel who mounted the largest manhunt in state history before apprehending him without using force late Sunday. "People were understandably terrified over the last couple days," she said. Boelter is also suspected of shooting state Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette in their home. They survived despite multiple gunshot wounds and were being treated for serious injuries, authorities said. Boelter was taken into custody in a rural area about an hour southwest of the Minneapolis suburbs where the killings occurred, police and state officials said. SWAT teams used drones to identify the suspect's location, and officers crawled through ditches in the area's farm fields to confine him, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported. He was being held at Hennepin County jail and was scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 pm (1830 GMT) on Monday, jail records showed. Moriarty said Boelter was due to be handed over to federal officials and that federal charges were also expected. - 'Politically motivated' - A notebook containing the names of other lawmakers and potential targets was found inside a car left by Boelter at the Hortmans' home. The attacks renewed fears of growing political violence in America. "I am concerned about all our political leaders, political organizations," US Senator Amy Klobuchar, who represents Minnesota, said Sunday. "It was politically motivated, and there clearly was some throughline with abortion because of the groups that were on the list, and other things that I've heard were in this manifesto.
