
Parliament speaker honors participants in parliamentary oversight training courses

Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i has stressed the importance of strengthening national unity in confronting the conspiracies and attacks against Yemen due to its supportive stance towards the Palestinian cause.
At the conclusion of the training courses on parliamentary oversight and the importance of legislation in parliamentary life on Tuesday, al-Ra'i stressed the importance of redoubling efforts to achieve success in all areas and confront all challenges through continuous modernization and development to raise the level of performance in various areas of work and production.
He pointed out the importance of organizing such specialized, qualitative courses, which help develop and modernize the level of performance in line with legislative and oversight work. al-Ra'i praised the efforts of the General Secretariat in organizing such courses aimed at enhancing the performance of the Council's cadres and employees and the secretariat of the Council's standing committees, as well as the efforts of the course trainers and their participation in their implementation.
The training courses organized by the General Secretariat of the Council over the past period aimed to introduce 60 male and female trainees from the Council's Committees, Sessions, and Members' Affairs departments to the concepts of legislation and parliamentary oversight, as well as parliamentary duties, powers, foundations, and rules related to legislative and oversight life, and the organization of political, economic, and social life.
The participants in the courses gained knowledge about parliamentary oversight and draft laws, both in terms of form and content, during the practical phase within Parliament, as well as the drafting phase, cooperation between constitutional authorities, and matters related to proposing and discussing draft laws. The courses also focused on the optimal methods of legal drafting that must be available to those working in drafting laws.
For his part, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Council, Abdulrahman al-Mansour, expressed his thanks to the Speaker of the Council for his sponsorship and encouragement of such qualitative training courses, given their importance in practical reality and their contribution to improving the level of performance in parliamentary work in the legislative and oversight fields.
Trainer Naaman al-Masoudi discussed the importance of the courses and model projects presented by the participants during the training period.
The speech delivered by Mohammed al-Wadaei, on behalf of the course participants, praised the Council Chairman and the Council's General Secretariat for their commitment to holding such training courses.
At the conclusion, the Council Chairman honored the participants in the training courses with certificates of appreciation, wishing them success in implementing the outcomes of the specialized courses into their practical work.
