King Charles' Royal Ascot runner SMASHED in betting after Willie Mullins books ‘world's best jockey' for £57,000 ride
Victory would be a huge result for the Royal family
CROWN JEWELS King Charles' Royal Ascot runner SMASHED in betting after Willie Mullins books 'world's best jockey' for £57,000 ride
KING CHARLES' big Royal Ascot runner has been SMASHED in the betting - after Willie Mullins booked the 'world's best jockey' for the £57,000 ride.
Four-year-old gelding Reaching High has already made history after becoming the first horse owned by a reigning monarch to be trained in Ireland.

He was beaten a short-head on his first run for Mullins at Leopardstown in May over just 1m4f.
The Ascot Stakes, to be run at 5pm on Tuesday, is over a mile further, so Reaching High's stamina will be massively tested.
But if anyone can get him ready then it's Mullins - and the jockey booking is a big help too.
Mullins - who's also signed 'one of the most talented jockeys around' for two more big rides on day one - and King Charles have pulled some strings and got Ryan Moore, who's been crowned world's best jockey four times.
Moore rode Estimate to Ascot Gold Cup glory for the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2013.
And he is in awesome form this year, winning the Oaks and Coronation Cup at Epsom last weekend as well a whole host of other Group 1s.
Layers at Ladbrokes rushed to cut Reaching High's odds for the Ascot Stakes, where victory is worth a shade under £57,000.
He was 10-1 before the Moore jockey booking became public news and is now into just 6-1.
The firm's Cal Gildart said: "With Ryan Moore's two Epsom Group 1 victories fresh in the mind, Reaching High's Ascot Stakes odds almost halved on the news of his booking.
"Punters are clearly high on the King and Queen's horse, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him go off as favourite."
Speaking previously of his delight to train a Royal runner, Grand National-winning trainer Mullins said: "It's an honour and a big surprise to be asked.
"It's nice to have a horse in that position and it's very exciting.
"I'm probably looking at the two-and-a-half-mile race (Ascot Stakes) but we'll look at both staying races on the first day.
"When you look at his pedigree, it's all stamina. He seems to stay very well."

Ascot can lift mood after Derby doom and gloom with five days of royal glamour, star runners and a racing spectacle fit for the world stage, writes ED CHAMBERLIN
What a difference a week will make. From the doom and gloom of Epsom and its empty hill to the promise of something quite spectacular at Royal Ascot, five days that will illustrate everything great about British racing. Why are the two occasions so different? It would have been unthinkable during the late Queen's reign for her not to be at Epsom on Derby Day but the lack of a Royal presence seven days ago certainly contributed to how flat everything felt. The occasion, for so many reasons, isn't resonating with the nation. We had an audience of 1.3million on ITV, an improvement from 12 months ago but still nothing to write home about. In contrast, when we started covering racing in 2017, our ambition was to get one million-plus watching on midweek afternoons — we hope to do that on all five days next week. People can't get enough of Ascot and that's because the course has moved with the times, making it an occasion for everyone. When the Royal procession goes down the track, it passes a complete cross section of society within 500 yards. You have the picnickers on the Heath to those dining in the restaurant of Yannick Alleno, a chef with 17 Michelin stars; you'll have students there for a good time rubbing shoulders with aristocrats. Tickets are selling fast and Ascot expect close to 300,000 across the five days. It was all doom and gloom at Epsom on Derby Day just seven days ago This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Royal procession and Ascot, a racecourse in tune with their local community, have invited 500 kids from local schools on course to see the spectacle. It remains as relevant as it has ever been. My hope is the Princess of Wales will be there with the Prince on Wednesday for the blockbuster race named in his honour. I'd love to see David and Victoria Beckham in the carriages one day, too, as they would carry racing on to the front pages. I argued on these pages last year how I would love to see places reserved in the procession for the NHS heroes and heroines, to spread the love around, but the meeting is so successful I'll leave all decisions for the powers-that-be. Ascot's biggest selling point, however, is that Felicity Barnard — the new chief executive — knows what matters. For all the pomp, pageantry and popping corks, everything revolves around horses. Everyone wants to be here, with runners arriving from America, Japan, Australia, Spain and Norway. And, at the heart of it, we will be looking for a winner. Betting will be central to our coverage and my idea of a 'good thing' is Shadow Of Light in Friday's Commonwealth Cup. I can't wait. This is Ascot: historic and in fashion — and the reason everyone will be watching. BETS OF THE WEEK: Aside from Shadow Of Light, I expect REACHING HIGH to win Tuesday's Ascot Stakes for the King and Queen. I'm also hearing positive vibes for FITZELLA in the Albany Stakes on Friday.

Rogue Supremacy subject to plenty of attention with Ascot looming
David O'Meara's youngster impressed when making all in his Wetherby debut, scorching clear of the opposition to give himself the options of the Coventry Stakes, Norfolk Stakes and Windsor Castle at the Royal meeting. 'We really, really like this horse, loads of people are trying to buy this horse and he could even be sold by the time we get to Ascot but I'm trying not to,' said Tony Elliott, founder of The Rogues Gallery. 'The jockey was more or less stood up with him the whole way at Wetherby and we don't know what we've got yet and that's the whole idea of going to Ascot. 'He's sharp and we don't know if he'll get the six furlongs, so it could be that we're looking at the five-furlong races over the Coventry. 'But I'll leave that with David O'Meara, he knows the horse and it's not really my decision, I leave it to the trainers. He'll be entered in three of the races and it's just a case of then picking the right one.' The son of St Mark's Basilica has courted plenty of attention since getting his sire off the mark last month, but at the moment the 'Rogues' are withstanding the pressure to sell the talented youngster, having already cashed in on the Paddy Twomey-trained Rogue Legend prior to Ascot. Rogue Legend transferred to the ownership of American John Stewart and his Resolute Racing operation for a fee rumoured to be seven figures, and Elliott admitted there is always plenty to consider when offers hit the table. He added: 'It's not all about selling because we want some nice ones ourselves and it's a tricky situation. However, we're not all multi-millionaires and sometimes you have to use your head rather than your heart ruling your head. 'People keep saying it must be a lovely position to be in, but it's difficult. We all want a bit of money, but at the same time we want those nice horses as well. Luckily enough we keep putting ourselves in this position and I do think we've plenty of cracking horses coming through of real quality.' Royal Ascot winner Rogue Millennium and crack sprinter Rogue Lightning were two others to excel for The Rogues Gallery before switching hands for £1.65million and £1million respectively at the sales, as the popular syndicate continues to source above-average operators. And Rogue Supremacy could be joined next week by James Owen's Rogue Millions, who is poised for the Golden Gates Handicap after readily accounting for some smart opposition at Chepstow recently. 'Rogue Millions will hopefully go to the Golden Gates and he could even be our best horse, he beat two really nice horses comfortably at Chepstow,' continued Elliott. 'We've got a lot of nice ones at the moment and everyone is buzzing, it couldn't be going better for us. I would say we're overachieving and I guess the person under pressure is me to keep finding them.'
