3 best Prime Video action movies you (probably) haven't seen

Hold on tight to the edge of your seat and don't let go. If you're in the mood for huge brawls, explosions and characters who don't back down, Prime Video has an action-packed lineup ready to deliver.
Whether you're more into gritty shootouts with great drama or space wars, these action movies were practically built to get your heart racing.
But maybe you want something a little off the beaten path, something you've not seen before. You've already run through "Die Hard" and "Rocky" and so many more of the classics. That's where we come in. We've rounded up some of best action movies on Prime Video that you probably haven't seen.
So grab your snacks, turn up the volume and get ready for some serious thrills.
Kevin Costner and Diane Lane play George and Margaret Blackledge in "Let Him Go," a retired couple still reeling from the death of their son. When their grandson is taken across state lines by his mother and her new husband (who is part of the deeply unsettling Weboy clan), Margaret insists they go after him.
What starts as a mission to bring their grandson home turns into a tense, dangerous standoff with a family that doesn't take kindly to outsiders. Set against wide-open plains and heavy silences, the film balances tender moments with bursts of brutal violence, all anchored by a tough-as-nails performance from Lane. Perhaps best of all, you probably haven't heard of it.

When high school teacher and former soldier Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) is conscripted into a massive fight via time travel, he's forced to leave his family behind for a war that seems impossible to win.
All that, you know, and big sci-fi action, emotional stakes, and a race against time (literally) to rewrite the future.
"The Tomorrow War" is loud and fast, but at its core, it's about second chances and the sacrifices people make to protect the ones they love. And even if you have Chris Pratt fatigue, you'll find something to appreciate here.

There are action movies, and then there are first-person simulations of what it feels like to play an entire action video game. Told entirely from the first-person perspective, "Hardcore Harry" is an adrenaline rush you've got to experience at least once.
Told entirely from the perspective of its main character, Henry (Sergey Valyaev, Andrei Dementiev, Ilya Naishuller, David Malic), the film kicks off with him waking up in a lab with no memory and some serious cybernetic upgrades. Moments later, he's under attack, and the rest of the ride barely lets up.
From rooftop chases to brutal brawls, Henry tears through wave after wave of enemies while trying to save his wife and figure out who turned him into a weapon. And you'll never expect the ending.

Madelyn Cline KJ Apa The Map That Leads To You Interview

Madelyn Cline and KJ Apa have both starred in two of the biggest teen TV shows in the last 10 years: Outer Banks and Riverdale. Now, the duo is teaming up for their new romance movie, The Map That Leads to You, which I can say with my whole heart that I loved so much. It might be one of the best young adult romance movies in recent years. Based on the novel of the same name by J.P. Monninger, and directed by Lasse Hallström, the movie tells the story of Heather (Cline), who is traveling Europe with her best friends when she meets Jack (Apa). Soon, the duo embarks on a whirlwind summer of romance and travel together, with Jack visiting various locations his grandfather wrote about in a journal. So, to celebrate their new movie, we had Madelyn and KJ take a costar test to see how well they really know each other behind the scenes, and it might be one of the most hilariously chaotic costar tests we've done. Yes, out of the gate they had nicknames for each other. For starters, KJ felt extremely confident that he knew the first time he met Madelyn, but she quickly pointed out that he was wrong and they actually met at a gym years prior. They also agreed on their favorite behind-the-scenes memory from filming The Map That Leads to You, which was when one of their security guards "almost decked a guy." And while they didn't know everything about each other, like what Madelyn's go-to snack at craft services was, the whole thing was just so delightful because they love to goof around together. Like, I genuinely have not seen costars make each other laugh so much in a long time. You can check out Madelyn and KJ's full costar test below: And be sure to watch The Map That Leads to You, which is streaming now on Prime Video.

Thanks to AI tools, this actress is the real star of a popular Prime Video movie

Idris Elba and John Cena starred in Heads of State, an action comedy that premiered on Prime Video last month. Elba and Cena are billed as the film's top stars. However, AI tools showed that the film's third lead, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, was the real force behind the movie's success. Amazon MGM Studios bypassed theaters for Heads of State and released it directly to Prime Video on July 2, 2025. The decision to head to streaming paid off. Per Deadline, the action comedy registered over 75 million worldwide Prime Video viewers in just over one month. Recommended Videos Heads of State is the fourth-most-watched Amazon MGM Studios film on Prime Video of all time, behind Red One, The Accountant 2, and The Tomorrow War. One could assume that global stars like Elba and Cena would be the reason behind the surge in viewership. According to AI tools, Chopra Jonas was the biggest draw. Per Variety, representatives for Chopra Jonas used Grok and ChatGPT to measure and analyze viewer sentiment. Using an AI breakdown based on volume, headlines, and quoting intensity, Chopra Jonas had a buzz rate of around 50% to 60% on the film. The same formula had Elba and Cena between 20% and 25%, nearly half the amount generated by Chopra Jonas. 'I don't think she would normally be credited for [the film's success] because she's not the lead. She's not a 'Head of State,'' Anjula Acharia, Chopra Jonas' manager, said to Variety. But in this case, the data doesn't lie.' The data support Chopra Jonas' huge crossover appeal thanks to her career as a Bollywood actress. AI is changing how Hollywood operates. Saying AI around someone in the business will almost always generate a negative reaction. Most people fear that increased AI will lead to the loss of jobs. Acharia, conversely, believes AI can help gather data points to use during contract negotiations for future roles. 'You can really see where the cultural heat is building, and it gives you that data really fast,' Acharia added about using AI tools to help her client. Heads of State is now on Prime Video.

‘Culpa Nuestra' Trilogy Finale Gets October Global Premiere Date

The grand finale of Noah and Nick's passionate saga now has a release date. Prime Video announced today that its Spanish Original film Culpa Nuestra (Our Fault), the highly anticipated conclusion to Mercedes Ron's Culpables YA trilogy, will have its global premiere in October. The streamer also unveiled the final film's official poster, featuring the film's stars. Fans of the record-breaking whirlwind romance, set in a world of wealth, fast cars, street racing, secrets, and personal trauma, will welcome finding out what the future holds for the young lovers. Nicole Wallace (Skam España, Parot) and Gabriel Guevara (Mañana es Hoy, Hit) return as Noah and Nick for the final time. The trilogy's first two installments — Culpa Mía and Culpa Tuya — were a massive success. The first film debuted in June 2023. The second was released in December 2024, becoming the most-watched international original film on Prime Video at launch, cementing the franchise as a global phenomenon. So much so that Ron's story also spawned a hit English-language version: My Fault: London, which debuted in January 2025, also on Prime Video. In this final chapter, the wedding of their friends Jenna (Eva Ruiz) and Lion (Víctor Varona) sets the stage for Noah and Nick's long-awaited reunion after their painful breakup. Nick's inability to forgive Noah creates what appears to be an insurmountable barrier between them. He's now focused on his future as heir to his grandfather's business empire, while she's just beginning to build her professional life. Noah and Nick are both determined to resist rekindling a flame that still burns, but when their paths inevitably cross again, the question becomes whether their love can triumph over resentment. The returning ensemble cast includes Marta Hazas (Días Mejores, Pequeñas Coincidencias), Iván Sánchez (Bosé, Hospital Central), Victor Varona (Cielo Grande, Dani Who?), Eva Ruiz, Goya Toledo (Amores Perros, Veneno), Gabriela Andrada (Los Protegidos ADN, Los Herederos de la Tierra), Álex Béjar (Élite, Al Fondo Hay Sitio), Javier Morgade (Desaparecidos, Delfines de Plata), and Felipe Londoño (Entrevías, Perfil Falso). New to the cast is Fran Morcillo (La Casa de Papel), who joins as Simon. Culpa Nuestra is directed by Domingo González, who helmed the entire trilogy. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Sofía Cuenca (Culpa Tuya). The film is produced by Pokeepsie Films (Banijay Iberia), the Spanish production company behind acclaimed projects like 30 Monedas and El Bar, with Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang serving as producers. Culpa Nuestra will be available worldwide October 16, 2025.
