No Surgery, Just Discipline
In his recent appearance on India TV's Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma, Adnan recalled a turning point in his life that pushed him to begin his weight loss journey. At the time, his father was battling pancreatic cancer and took him to London's Cromwell Hospital for a check-up. The doctor gave a grim warning, telling him that if he continued with his current lifestyle, he might not survive another six months.
While the warning initially didn't shake him, it was his father's emotional plea later that night—urging him to change for the sake of his future—that truly hit home.
Deeply moved, Adnan made a firm commitment that very night to turn his life around and began working towards a healthier lifestyle.
Guided by Nutrition, Driven by Determination
The composer and singer clarified that his dramatic weight loss had nothing to do with bariatric surgery or liposuction. Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, he shared that a skilled nutritionist in Houston designed a high-protein diet plan for him, which helped him shed the extra kilos. For those unaware, the singer had lost around 120 kg in just six months back in 2016, dropping from 230 kg through dedicated lifestyle changes.

Kamal Haasan on Kannada remark: My words were intended only to convey we are all from the same family
Veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan, on Tuesday (June 3, 2025), said he has always stood for the equal dignity of all Indian languages and remain opposed to the dominance of any one language over another, as such imbalance undermines the linguistic fabric of India. In a letter to Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Haasan addressed the controversy that has erupted after he suggested that 'Kannada came from Tamil' at the audio launch of his latest film Thug Life. His comments triggered strong reactions and resulted in the likelihood of the film not being released in Karnataka due to opposition from political parties. 'It pains me that my statement at the Thug Life audio launch — spoken out of genuine affection for the legendary Dr. Raj Kumar's family, especially Shiva Rajkumar — has been misunderstood and taken out of context. My words were intended only to convey that we are all one and from the same family and not to diminish Kannada in anyway,' he said. Speaking about rich history of Kannada language, Mr. Haasan, 'There is no dispute or debate on the rich legacy of Kannada language. Like Tamil, Kannada has a proud literary and cultural tradition that I have long admired. Throughout my career I have cherished the warmth and affected extended to me by the Kannada speaking community, and I say that with clear conscience and conviction: my love for the language is genuine and I have great respect for the love that Kannadigas have for their mother tongue.' Mr. Haasan further added, 'Cinema is a universal language that knows only love and bonding. My statement was also to establish that bond and unity is amongst all of us. It is this love and bond that my seniors taught me which I wanted to share. It is out of this love and bond that Shivanna attended the audio launch event. I really regret that Shivanna had to go through such embarrassment on account of this.' He further said, 'Cinema must remain a bridge between people - never a wall that divides them. This was the intent of my statement. And I never have been nor would I ever want to give any room for public unrest and animosity. I sincerely hope that my words are received in the spirit they were intended and that my enduring affection for Karnataka, its people and their language is recognised in its true light.'

After Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi also advocates for reasonable work hours: 'I'm learning to politely say no. Nahi, itna hi hoga'
Deepika Padukone was approached for Prabhas starrer 'Spirit' directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga , however, reports suggested that the actress had some demands which the makers couldn't comply with. Hence, eventually Triptii Dimri was cast. Reports suggested that one of Deepika's condition was reasonable working hours. The actress had reportedly asked for eight-hour shift and not beyond that, as she's a new mom to baby Dua Padukone Singh. After Deepika's demand for reasonable work hours and proper work-life balance, several other actors have also spoken in her favour and echoed similar sentiments. Actor Pankaj Tripathi has also advocated for reasonable working hours and said that he's consntantly working sometimes for 16-18 hours. He said in an interview with 'The Hollywood Reporter India', "Right now, I'm practicing saying 'no.' Because everyone should know where the boundary is – that this is the line, and beyond this, it's a polite 'no.'" He added further, "Kaam mein khiche jaa raha hai. 16 ghanta-18 ghanta ho gaya main laga hua hu. Main bol bhi raha hu, actor jaa chuka hai. Labour ruka hua hai. (The work hours are getting stretched. I am working 16–18 hours straight. I'm even saying, the actor has left, the labourers are still waiting)." The 'OMG 2' star further added that he's now learning to politely say no rather than stretch himself beyond a point. He said, "Phir laga nahi, abhi toh aap vinamrata purvak bol dijiye ki 'Nahi, itna hi hoga. Humne commit ye kiya tha, commitment humari poori ho gayi. Ab dhanyavaad. Jo bacha hai, kal karenge.' ( At this point, you should just politely say, 'No, this is all that can be done. This is what we committed to, and we've fulfilled that commitment. Thank you. Whatever is left, we'll do tomorrow')." Meanwhile, film-maker Mani Ratnam spoke in Deepika's favour. He said during a chat with News18 Showsha, 'I think it is a rightful demand. I'm glad she's in a position to ask for it. I think as a filmmaker, you will take that into consideration when you cast. It is not an unreasonable thing to ask, but an absolute necessity. I think that should be the priority. You have to acknowledge that, understand it and work around it." Ajay Devgn who is also a producer recently said that the right film-makers will have no problem with this eight hour shift demand and will happily agree.
