The ceremony often celebrates alumni from London's Brit School, such as Amy Winehouse and Adele.
Paloma, who won Best British Female Solo Artist at the 2015 awards, hopes youngsters who go to regular schools will finally get a look in when it takes place at the Co-op Live Arena on February 28 next year.
The singer sat down with Bizarre's Jack as she hosted a pop-up 'confessions' booth in London's Covent Garden to promote her podcast series Mad, Sad and Bad.
Paloma said: 'I think it will be really good for the spotlight to be shining on talent that comes from outside of London.
'The Brit School gets a lot of accolades and I really rate that school. But I feel like in the North, there is so much talent.
'I really hope they team it or pair it with a school in the North. I hope it being in Manchester will add something and emboldens the talent there.'
Meanwhile, Paloma's podcast is going from strength to strength, with guests ranging from Hollywood lactor Samuel L. Jackson to fellow podcaster Vogue Williams.
Revealing she's got a wishlist of guests, Paloma added: 'I really want Joan Collins.
'With Samuel L. Jackson, I sent him a message saying, 'I need your agent's number as I have a proposition for you'.
'He sent me a text saying, 'If you want something, you have to ask me yourself'. But it took me 15 days to build up the courage to call.'

Tributes paid to Britons feared killed in Air India plane crash

Air India confirmed 241 of the 242 people on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner were killed on Thursday, in one of the deadliest plane crashes in terms of the number of British nationals killed. Fiongal and Jamie Greenlaw-Meek, who run a spiritual wellness centre, were said to be among the dead. The pair laughed and joked as they filmed a video of themselves at the airport before taking off. (PA Graphics) In an earlier Instagram post they told of their 'mind-blowing' trip to India and their intention to make a vlog about it. Mr Greenlaw is said to have appeared on ITV's This Morning earlier this year to talk about wellness. Former editor of the show Martin Frizell praised his 'vibrancy' and 'enthusiasm'. 'So so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick,' he said in an Instagram post. 'I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I'm a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over. 'And I know for a fact that he hoped to use his appearance on This Morning to build his wellness brand, he had a great future ahead of him. 'Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie.' The Greenlaw-Meeks were running the Wellness Foundry in London, which offers psychic readings, tarot, reiki and yoga. The firm is included in Time Out's top places in the capital for tarot readings. The Wellness Foundry also has a podcast called Spirit Level, which the website says is a 'guiding light on the journey to holistic well-being and spiritual enlightenment'. The Gloucester Muslim Community group offered 'sincere and deepest condolences' after Akeel Nanabawa, his wife Hannaa and their daughter Sara were reported to be among the victims. 'During this moment of overwhelming sorrow, our hearts go out to all those left behind,' a statement said. 'No words can truly ease the pain of such a profound loss, but we pray that the family may find solace in the tremendous outpouring of compassion and solidarity from communities across the world.' Raj Mishra, the mayor of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, called for people to come together as he announced the deaths of three people from his community. 'Among those lost were Raxa Modha, infant Rudra Modha, and Ms K Mistri, all from our Wellingborough community,' he said. 'I extend my deepest condolences to their families, friends and all those affected by this heartbreaking event. 'May their memories be a blessing, and may we come together to support one another in this time of grief.' Briton Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, is believed to be the only survivor of the crash. Speaking outside the family home in Leicester, his brother, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, 27, said: 'We were just shocked as soon as we heard it. 'I last spoke to him yesterday morning. We're devastated, just devastated. 'He said, 'I have no idea how I exited the plane'.' Mr Ramesh's older brother Ajay was also aboard the flight. Another of Mr Ramesh's relatives, Jay, said the survivor spoke to his father after the crash and asked after his brother. Jay told PA: 'After the crash he spoke to his dad worrying about his brother saying, 'Where's Ajay'?'

He snuck away to the Hideaway with one girl in shock scenes villa thriller Love Island fans beg producers to step in and remove lad after 'disgusting' behaviour LOVE Island fans have insisted that one Islander should be removed from the villa after his 'disgusting' behaviour. 30-year-old Harry has come under fire after his shock betrayal on the show after ditching partner Shakira in bed for a night of passion with Helena in the Hideaway. Many fans have been left unhappy with the way he disregarded Shakira's feelings and how he continued to say one thing to her and another to Helena as he attempted to bat their feelings off one another. Taking to X - formerly Twitter - one fan grumbled of Harry: "Harry is disgusting." A second went on to pen: "Harry's acting like this and hes…thirty?" Advertisement Someone else wrote: "Harry.. you lie now but trust your time will come when movie night arrives. "Switching the script on every convo you have is gonna come back to BITEEEEE." "Harry is NOTTTTT the man i thought he'd be, he is a walking, talking RED FLAG," added a fourth. As another insisted both he and Helena should be removed for their antics, saying: "I want Helena and Harry OUT. Out NOW!!!! Advertisement "Love island producer you know you see knocking the door b****!" In shock scenes tonight blonde air hostess Helena Ford, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley, 30, snuck off for some alone time - leaving their partners reeling. Watch the moment Love Island stars strip off and jump into bed after ditching their partners for the Hideaway The duo were seen planning their rendezvous earlier in the evening and Harry is seen telling Helena to tap his foot on the way out of the bedroom. A source previously told The Sun: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. Advertisement 'In the past, producers had to invite Islanders to use the breakout bedroom which meant the love nest was generally not used until couples became more established. 'But producers have changed the rules of the breakout bedroom so it can be used at any time, without an invite. 'It means Helena and Harry could take advantage of the 'no invite needed' and explore their connection. 'The scenes will play out later this week, but bosses are unlikely to show anything too naughty, as is the show's usual approach.' Advertisement
