Two decades later: Keanu Reeves says ‘aching' for chance to be John Constantine again (VIDEO)
LOS ANGELES, Feb 19 – Keanu Reeves has expressed his excitement to reprise his role as John Constantine, as work on the highly anticipated Constantine 2 continues.
Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Reeves and director Francis Lawrence said that a script is in progress, and they are confident the film will move forward once completed.
'I'm aching to play this guy,' Reeves said, crediting fans for the cult following that made the sequel a reality.
Lawrence, who directed the 2005 supernatural thriller, revealed that various challenges, including leadership changes at Warner Bros. and DC Comics, had delayed the sequel for years.
The actor's 2021 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he named Constantine as the character he most wanted to reprise, further fueled demand for a sequel.
Announced in 2022, Constantine 2 will see Reeves reunite with Lawrence, while Akiva Goldsman is writing the screenplay.
The original Constantine, based on DC Comics' Hellblazer series, grossed $200 million worldwide and gained a dedicated fanbase over the years.

Then, according to the report, one of the film's original editors was 'removed mid-process,' and the structure of the movie was reworked, meaning some scenes were relocated, others added, and the story reshaped. So, how's the revised cut going over? Well, Warner Bros. is reportedly planning another big test screening soon, and insiders say execs are 'a tad' more confident this time around. Whether that means the creative pivots have improved the film or just calmed nerves in the boardroom… we'll probably hear about it soon enough. What's clear is that these behind-the-scenes tweaks have sparked all kinds of reactions across the fandom. Snyder fans may be happy to hear Gunn's humor got dialed back. Gunn loyalists might worry the charm they love has been compromised. And everyone else? In a highly competitive situation, involving offers from both studios and streamers, Netflix has landed the pitch for a two-hander action comedy to star A Minecraft Movie's Jason Momoa and SNL alum Andy Samberg. No word yet on who will direct. We were first to report on the Warner Bros/Legendary title, which opens October 10. Next up, Momoa will reprise his role as Duncan Idaho in Dune 3, which rolls cameras in July. An Emmy and Golden Globe winner, Samberg will next be seen starring alongside Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch in Jay Roach's The Roses, a remake of the classic 1989 dark comedy The War of the Roses that Searchlight releases August 29. This past fall, he returned to Studio 8H for SNL's 50th season, portraying Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff opposite Maya Rudolph's Kamala Harris. 'Incredibly entertaining' Michael B. Jordan movie now available to watch at home — it's my favorite movie of the year so far

I hope most of you took advantage of seeing Sinners on the big screen — and in IMAX and/or 70mm if possible — as that experience is truly what helped make the Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler movie the best movie of the year so far in my book. But if you haven't been able to see the movie in theaters, well, things have gotten a bit easier for you, as you can now watch Sinners at home via digital on-demand platforms. As of Tuesday, June 3, you can buy or rent Sinners through Prime Video and other digital on-demand platforms. Sinners is still playing in movie theaters if you want to try and catch it on the big screen, but admittedly, watching Sinners at home makes it easier to catch up with the movie. Sinners takes place in the Mississippi Delta of the 1930s, where twin brothers Smoke and Stack (both played by Jordan) return home looking to start their own club. However, on opening night, they have some unannounced visitors who bring unparalleled chaos to the proceedings. In addition to Jordan, Sinners stars Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O'Connell, Miles Caton, Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo, Li Jun Li, Omar Benson Miller and Jayme Lawson. In my Sinners review, I called the movie 'the first truly great movie of 2025,' and a month and a half later, it is still the best movie I've seen this year. While the movie theater experience was definitely special, the performances, the storytelling and the craftsmanship of Sinners will have the movie play well on whatever size screen (though I'd still recommend watching it on the biggest TV you have). I'm not alone in my praise, as Sinners is 'Certified Fresh' on Rotten Tomatoes with a critics' score of 97% and 'Verified Hot' on the platform with an audience score of 96%. It's also pulled in the dough, with it ranking as the third highest-grossing movie at the US box office as of publication and top 10 worldwide. In summation, Sinners has become something of a phenomenon for moviegoers. So anyone who likes to be caught up with the latest movies and hasn't seen Sinners yet — or if you want to watch the movie again — well, now you have multiple options to do so. To be clear though, Sinners is not available as part of a major streaming service at this time, you have to buy the movie or pay a rental fee to watch it at home. We're still waiting on an official streaming release date for Sinners, but as a Warner Bros. movie, we all but know where it is going to be available to stream first — on Max (or perhaps it will be HBO Max again by the time Sinners arrives on the platform).
