Newcastle issue statement in response to Isak post

Yahooa day ago
Newcastle United have issued a response to Alexander Isak's social media post declaring his desire to leave the club.
In a post on Instagram, Isak discussed his future for the first time. He has trained away from the first-team group this summer as he seeks an exit. The Swedish striker wants to leave St James' Park, amid an approach from Liverpool who saw an offer turned down earlier in the window.
In the post, Isak claimed Newcastle had broken 'promises' and that 'the relationship can't continue' amid a lack of trust.
Newcastle have now issued a response, expressing their disappointment at the forward's conduct. The Magpies have denied any agreement allowing Isak to leave the club and have insisted the 'conditions of a sale' have not been met. Newcastle also stated that they don't 'foresee' their value of the player being met before September's deadline.
'We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening,' the statement read.
'We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.
'We want to keep our best players, but we also understand players have their own wishes and we listen to their views.
'As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired.
'We do not foresee those conditions being met.
'This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.'

Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini gives update on Antony future – ‘Manchester United need to…'

Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has put the ball in Manchester United's court over the potential return of Brazilian winger Antony. After a stellar loan spell last season, both Betis and the player are seemingly in favour of a second loan deal, but Manchester United are less keen. Their intention was to sell Antony this summer for somewhere between €40-50m, but thus far no offers have come in. In order for Betis to bring him back, that must remain the case. Pellegrini explained that United must make a decision. 'I've not spoken with Antony. We all know that Antony was very good here, we want Antony with us, and Antony wants to return no doubt. But we also need the owner, which is Manchester United, to make a decision,' he told Diario AS. Two Betis proposals on the table for Antony Betis have already made their case to United. Caught Offside report that Betis have offered to loan Antony again with an option to buy a percentage of his rights, which would then act as a sell-on fee. Their second offer is simply to buy Antony outright for €20m. Real Betis stadium change this season Pellegrini was speaking ahead of Betis' second game of the season against Alaves, for the first time at La Cartuja. As Betis renovate their Benito Villamarin stadium, they will play at La Cartuja this season, where Spain have often operated of late. 'I see it as a positive because it allows us to remodel the Villamarin. The fans are passionate, and even if they're a few metres away, it will be a temporary inconvenience. The ambition is always the same; the remodeling of the Villamarin had to be done. This club needs it.' Goalkeeper competition between Alvaro Valles and Pau Lopez Meanwhile it came as a surprise to many that Alvaro Valles, who had agreed a deal to join Betis as their starter last summer, remained on the bench for Pau Lopez in their opener against Elche. 'For now, there's only one competition; two goalkeepers are coming in who need to adapt to the defensive system. We'll see who plays in the other tournaments. There's also Adrian. Whoever's playing best will be the one who plays.' The Chilean coach also commented on the transfer market, remarking that there was no reason that the window should be open during the season. 'I won't comment on press speculation. The players in the squad are there to be used. Everyone is a part of the team. I hope we have a squad that matches the club's ambition. The team must be balanced.'

Report – Saudi Pro League Club Neom Not Giving Up On Signing Ex Bayern Munich Star From Inter Milan

Saudi Pro League club Neom reportedly have not given up on signing Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard this summer. This via FCInterNews. The Frenchman has not given the green light on the move yet, however. Inter Milan signed Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich two years ago. And while he has made a big impact, there is a feeling that his form suffered a definite drop-off last season. Furthermore, the Frenchman will turn thirty next campaign. Therefore, there is a nagging sense that this may be the right time for Inter to cash in. Meanwhile, Galatasaray are reportedly eyeing up a deal to sign Pavard. Then, two destinations in Ligue 1 have emerged in the form of Lille and Marseille. Coach Christophe Galtier in particular would be keen to bring the 29-year-old. Therefore, the Saudi club have not yet given up despite a lukewarm response from Pavard so far. However, for his part, the former Bayern defender has yet to really open up to the idea.

Report – Inter Milan Likelier To Sign Arsenal Defender Than Chelsea Star

Inter Milan are reportedly likelier to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior this summer than Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah. This according to today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908. Inter Milan are still hoping to sign a defender before the transfer window closes. The Nerazzurri are well aware of the fact that they need to freshen up an aging defense. The lies of Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi are now well into their thirties. And in the meantime, inter could also reportedly still sell defender Benjamin Pavard after two seasons at the club. (Photo by) Recent reports indicate that Inter have turned their attention to the Premier League for targets. One possibility would be Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, formerly of Spezia. Meanwhile, Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah is also a long-term target of the Nerazzurri. And there is a sense that the Englishman would be available considering Chelsea's bloated squad. The Corriere dello Sport note that, at ages 25 and 26 respectively, neither are exactly young enough for Inter. The Nerazzurri would prefer a player in their early twenties. However, the newspaper anticipate, if Inter are to move for either of the pair it would be Kiwior considering the Polish international's Serie A experience.
