Viewers watched as the ex-Islanders stood up to give their reasons on why Dejon and Meg weren't compatible.
But as they were bombarded with criticism, viewers couldn't help but notice Dejon's face drop as he came to the realisation that he was being sent home just a day before the final and within touching distance of the 50k prize fund.
One viewer wrote: "Dejon holding back tears seeing the 50k slowly slipping away."
A second posted: "Hold back the tears LOLLL."
A third commented: "Meg and Dejon are devastated, the fake smiles. Dejon wants to cry real life tears."
"That 'me too' from Dejon holding in his tears. GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE ," a fourth added with a string of crying face emojis.
After receiving the most votes, the OG pair were forced to pack their bags and leave the villa – just a day before the all-important final.
Now that they're out, Meg and Dejon have broken their silence and revealed their plan to 'prove everyone wrong'.
When asked what was next for the pair, Meg, who recently sparked outrage by mentioning the cameras on the show, responded: 'Proving to everyone we are actually going to stay together!
'Spending time together and introducing one another to family and friends.'
Love Island fans spot Shakira's 'smug' reaction as Meg and Dejon come under fire - did you?
Dejon echoed her words, adding: 'I definitely want to have a conversation with her family, get to know them and have her meet my family so they can see the real us.
'A lot of the Islanders saw how genuine we were and I have no doubt it will be like that with our families.
'After that, hopefully we can move in together as I can't imagine not living with her.'
Dejon and Meg, who hit the rocks this week, have been the subject of plenty of criticism from their fellow islanders and viewers alike, with many questioning if Dejon was playing a game.
The two paired up from day one but found themselves at loggerheads due to Dejon's flirty antics with numerous bombshells.
In last night's episode, Maya Jama returned to the villa and revealed one couple would be dumped from the island, with the decision in the hands of some familiar faces.
One by one the ex-Islanders had their say, leaving the couples at risk less than impressed by their comments.
After much back and forth, Meg and Dejon received 10 votes, while Angel and Ty received eight votes.
Fans were left elated at home as they flocked to X to share their excitement about Dejon and Meg leaving the ITV2 show.
One viewer wrote: 'The timing for Megan and Dejon being dumped is so perfect.'
Another person gushed: 'Finally Meg and Dejon are gone, I prayed for times like this! And that was such an epic way to dump them too, love a good revenge vote.'
Somebody else expressed: 'Meg and Dejon finally off my screen and out of the villa! I love to see it.'

Ordinary Decent Criminal review – Mark Thomas powers through tense prison drama

There is an alarming sense of cogs being wound in this prison drama by Ed Edwards. It is set in a fancy new Manchester nick where conditions are uncommonly good: a 25-day riot in the notoriously crowded Strangeways has fast-tracked the introduction of a softly-softly regime. There is one man to a cell, so tensions should be minimised, and only troublemakers are subject to frequent searches. Yet every time Edwards introduces a new inmate, he takes us one step closer to catastrophe. It is like a laboratory experiment in which a mad scientist adds unstable chemicals to a test tube and turns on the Bunsen burner. The steadiest element is Frankie Donnelly, a recovering addict who is in for three-and-a-half years for importing drugs disguised as bars of chocolate. On his side is an even temper, a typewriter and a history of political activism; beyond that, he is at the mercy of his fellow inmates. They include Kenny, a vulnerable and volatile victim of sexual abuse; Robert, a 'white Muslim' drug lord; Bron, a former British soldier with a lethal form of PTSD; and Tommy, who may or may not be an IRA operative. Placating one could trigger another. A chain reaction seems inevitable. Amusingly, Edwards plays against the tension as well as leaning into it. With the audience on tenterhooks, a whimper can be as much fun as a bang. None of these men is precisely the monster you expect. There is humanity, tenderness and care even in this brutal environment. The playwright could find no better interpreter than Mark Thomas, extending a relationship that began with England & Son, a play that managed to make a link between juvenile offending and colonialism. Strident and demonstrative, he powers his way through the script under the direction of Charlotte Bennett for Paines Plough, ratcheting up the stakes and jumping brilliantly from scouse narco to Belfast terrorist or bent screw to create a distinct and distinctly dangerous set of characters. Behind the time bomb humour lies a subtle analysis of the social and cultural reasons these damaged men are behind bars. They are not innocent, exactly, but men swept up in forces beyond their control. At Summerhall, Edinburgh, until 25 August All our Edinburgh festival reviews
