MP Paula Yacoubian to LBCI: Campaigns against Change MPs 'demonizing'
Speaking to LBCI, Yacoubian emphasized the need to surrender all weapons and prioritize Lebanon's national interest. She voiced support for a position of neutrality, stressing that it serves the Lebanese people and protects the country, which lies in the heart of a volatile region.
Yacoubian also commented on the current parliamentary electoral law, saying that the existing political parties are comfortable with it.
While she does not consider it a good law, she acknowledged that it is the one currently available and stressed the importance of working toward establishing "megacenters" to facilitate voting.

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun met with Lebanon's Ambassador to Mexico Sami Nmeir with whom he reviewed Lebanese-Mexican relations and the situation of the Lebanese diaspora in Mexico. In a separate meeting, President Aoun followed up with Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon Kamal Bou Shama on the outcomes of the President's recent official visit to Algeria, including talks held with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. President Aoun also received Democratic Gathering bloc MP Hadi Aboul Hosn, with whom he discussed the general situation and vital developmental projects related the Upper Metn. Aoun later received at Baabda Palace the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut, Paolo Fontani, in the presence of Information Minister Paul Morcos. Fontani briefed President Aoun on the regional office's activities and UNESCO's support to Lebanon in the cultural, media, intellectual, and heritage domains, by securing the necessary funding for a number of projects determined by the relevant ministries, particularly the Ministries of Culture and Information. Fontani also pointed out that UNESCO worked with the Lebanese Ministry of Information to "preserve the Tele Liban archives and contributed to other activities in the same field, in addition to its efforts to preserve Lebanese heritage and expand cultural centers throughout various Lebanese regions." President Aoun welcomed Fontani, wishing him success in his duties in Lebanon.

Minister of Culture meets with Member of European Parliament Hana Jalloul
Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh met in his office at the National Library-Sanayeh with Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Hana Jalloul. Jalloul explained in a statement that "the meeting discussed the general situation and Lebanon's relationship with the European Union, particularly with regard to cultural affairs." She said, "I was honored to meet with Minister Salamé, and it was a fruitful meeting during which we discussed a number of cultural issues." Amal Calls on Government to Strengthen Ceasefire Instead of Making Concessions
The Central Media Office of the Amal Movement issued a statement saying: Since November 27, 2024, the date the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli enemy was approved, Lebanon has fully committed to the terms of the agreement and continues to uphold all its obligations to implement the agreement, which was approved by both the previous and current governments. Meanwhile, the Israeli enemy has failed to comply from the very first moments, continuing its aggression through airstrikes and drone assassinations, violating Lebanese airspace, and maintaining its occupation of large areas of Lebanese territory, including the so-called five hills. Additionally, it has prevented the residents of border villages from returning to their homes after completely destroying them. Given these facts, the Lebanese government, which is rushing to offer further gratuitous concessions to the Israeli enemy through new agreements, should instead focus its efforts on solidifying the ceasefire first and putting an end to the Israeli killing machine that has claimed hundreds of Lebanese lives, both martyrs and wounded. Therefore, the government's actions contradict the President's oath speech and its own ministerial statement. Consequently, tomorrow's session is an opportunity for correction and a return to the Lebanese solidarity that once existed.
