WhatsApp Launches New Features for Status Updates - Jordan News
WhatsApp has announced the rollout of four new features for its Status updates, aiming to make this space more interactive and visually expressive, positioning it as a strong competitor to platforms like Instagram and Snapchat in terms of creativity and daily sharing. اضافة اعلان These new features will be gradually activated over the coming weeks, and include: 1. Photo Collage Creation For the first time, users will be able to combine up to six photos in a single status update, with customizable layout options such as grid, vertical, or horizontal arrangements. This gives users greater storytelling power and a seamless way to share multiple moments from a single event. 2. Adding Music to Status Users can now share music clips directly in their status—whether it's a favorite song or a track that reflects their current mood. Music can be added as music stickers over photos or videos, similar to Instagram Stories, enhancing the emotional and creative impact of each post. 3. Turn Photos into Editable Stickers A new feature allows users to create stickers from their own photos, with the ability to customize them by adding text, colors, or cropping elements. This makes the Status feature a highly personalized space and opens up opportunities to reuse these custom stickers in future chats. 4. 'Add Yours' Feature Inspired by Instagram, this interactive feature allows users to post visual or text-based prompts (e.g., 'Show your coffee cup today ☕'), which friends can respond to by sharing their own related content in their status. This creates a community-driven chain of engagement within WhatsApp's private and secure network. Despite these interactive additions, WhatsApp reaffirmed that all status updates remain end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that images, music, and interactions are only visible to the user and their contacts—not even WhatsApp itself can access them. The rollout of these features will begin in June 2025, and they are expected to reach all WhatsApp users worldwide in the coming months.
