Elite 2027 QB to attend Texas Elite Camp
The Texas Longhorns are hosting an Elite Camp in Austin on Sunday. One of the top signal callers in the nation will be in attendance per Horns247. The individual is four-star quarterback Gunner Rivers, a 2027 prospect, who is the son of former NFL quarterback Phillip Rivers.
Rivers is one of the highest-rated prospects in the country. 247Sports has him as the No. 24 recruit nationally and the No. 2 quarterback in the country. The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pounder is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Alabama as well.
The SEC and ACC make up the five offers that Rivers has on the table at the moment. They include Auburn, Boston College, Miami, South Carolina, and NC State, which is where his father went to school.
Over the past two seasons, Rivers has put up some gaudy numbers for St. Michael Catholic High School. He threw for 3,077 yards and 29 touchdowns with just four interceptions as a freshman in 2023. He was even more productive in his sophomore campaign with 3,947 yards and 36 scores to just six interceptions. Rivers also ran for two touchdowns in both seasons.
Rivers won't be the only quarterback that Texas will evaluate on Sunday. Four-star prospects Colton Nussmeier, Houston and Malachi Zeigler will be on campus as well as three-star recruit Jerry Meyer.
It's pretty safe to say that if Rivers impresses the Longhorns then an offer will soon follow.

Where Justin Herbert ranks among all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL

Where Justin Herbert ranks among all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL The Chargers are on the upward trajectory in terms of the direction of the organization. Jim Harbaugh came in and established a sound culture within the team last season. Most importantly, though, the Chargers have the most valuable position in all of sports figured out. That is, the quarterback role. Justin Herbert is a primary reason that Los Angeles should be competitive for the next handful of years. While his statistics have been somewhat down the last two seasons, it hasn't necessarily been his fault. In fact, he played some of the best football of his career as the 2024 season went on. With some reinforcements made amongst the playmakers group, his numbers should go up a bit in 2025. In Pro Football Focus' rankings of the 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL, John Kosko ranked Herbert eighth in the "high-end starters" tier. Herbert might be the best regular-season quarterback in non-clutch situations. His 91.0 overall grade over the past three seasons ranks sixth, and when excluding playoff performances, his passing grade actually tops Patrick Mahomes. For Herbert to take that next step in his career, he is going to have to do it on the big stage in the playoffs at some point. That's what elevated someone like Matthew Stafford into that next category in his impressive career. It's hard to believe Herbert still has just one Pro Bowl appearance to his resume. That's what happens when you're in the same conference as Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow, widely regards as the top-four quarterbacks in the NFL. Beyond the four obvious ones, Herbert ranked behind Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, and Stafford (in that order). When it's all said and done, we'll likely look back and wonder how Herbert did not make more Pro Bowls in his career.

NY Giants Legend, 66, Shocks Everyone With Appearance After Past Struggles

NY Giants Legend, 66, Shocks Everyone With Appearance After Past Struggles originally appeared on Parade. Sixty-six-year-old Lawrence Taylor, best known as 'L.T.,' joins Eli Manning and Michael Strahan as one of the most iconic players to ever suit up for the New York Giants. Advertisement Taylor made a recent surprise appearance at the Giants' OTAs (Organized Team Activities), where he offered pearls of wisdom on teamwork to the current defensive squad. But it was his appearance following recent legal troubles last summer that had everyone talking. Related: NFL Star Stefon Diggs In Hot Water Over Troubling Viral Video While encouraging the players to spend time together outside of practice to build camaraderie on the field, Taylor described the group as 'like a bunch of crazy dogs' who need to play as 'one unit.' Before leaving the group, L.T. lamented no longer playing football, stating: 'I wish I could still play, but I'm too goddamned old, you know? I can't do it no more." Despite the comment, his presence at the Giants' training facility was anything but aged. Wearing black sweats and a gray-and-black sweatshirt, Taylor looked fit and healthy, even with a newly grayed beard. His appearance was a welcome sight for fans of the athlete, who also had a memorable role in Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday. Taylor's past legal troubles and history with drug use have previously made him the subject of dramatic headlines. The former Giants star — widely regarded as the greatest defensive player of all time — told The New York Times in 2003 that "L.T. is dead." Despite Taylor's attempt to put his fast-living persona to rest, the former NFL star was arrested for failing to report his address, a requirement of past legal issues stemming from Lawrence's interaction with an underage prostitute. The case against Taylor was dismissed in July 2024. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Advertisement NY Giants Legend, 66, Shocks Everyone With Appearance After Past Struggles first appeared on Parade on May 29, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on May 29, 2025, where it first appeared.
