Trump says Musk has 'lost his mind' - as president considering selling his Tesla
Donald Trump has said Elon Musk has "lost his mind", according to US media, as the White House reveals the president is not interested in speaking to him.
In a phone interview with ABC News, the US president was asked about reports that a phone call was scheduled on Friday between Musk and himself.
"You mean the man who has lost his mind?" he is said to have responded.
A White House official has said Mr Trump is not interested in talking to his former ally amid a bitter feud between the two, adding that no phone call is planned for the day.
It comes as a source familiar with the situation has told Sky News the president is considering selling his Tesla, in a further sign that no resolution to the explosive bust-up is in sight.
Mr Trump purchased a Tesla earlier this year, describing the company as Elon's "baby".

The pair's relationship broke down publicly on Thursday, just days after Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk left his role as a special government employee.
In a fiery exchange, Musk posted a series of messages on X criticising the president's signature tax bill as a "big ugly spending bill".
President Trump posted on Truth Social that Musk had been "wearing thin" and claimed he "asked him to leave" his government position, something Musk denied.
Elon Musk then hit back, alleging the president "is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public."
He gave no evidence for the claim, and it was dismissed by the White House.
In a statement, it called the bust-up an "unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted."

The bill at the centre of the spat was passed by the House Republicans in May and has been described by the president as a "big, beautiful bill".
The president said to reporters in the White House on Thursday that Musk "knew the inner workings of the bill better than anybody sitting here".
"He had no problem with it. All of a sudden, he had a problem and he only developed the problem when he found out we're going to have to cut the EV mandate."
Musk then denied this, saying: "False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!"
The spat hit Tesla shares, which closed down 14.3% on Thursday, losing about $150bn (£111bn) in value.
Musk also said SpaceX will begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft "immediately" after Mr Trump threatened to cancel government contracts with Musk's businesses.
Hours after issuing his threat, however, Musk heeded advice from X users telling him to "cool down" and posted: "Ok, we won't decommission Dragon".
The row between two of the most powerful men in America comes a week after Musk left his position in the government, where he spearheaded a controversial cost-cutting department, DOGE - the Department of Government Efficiency.

On his first day back in office, Trump granted pardons to around 1,500 people who had been charged or convicted for their role in the attack, even those who had been convicted of violently assaulting police officers. The Trump administration is now planning to pay millions in compensation to the family of Ashli Babbitt, one of the pro-Trump rioters, who was shot dead inside the Capitol. During his confirmation hearing for FBI Director, Patel distanced himself from the pardons, telling the Senate Judiciary Committee: "I have always rejected any violence against law enforcement, and I have included in that group specifically addressed any violence against law enforcement on January 6. The FBI Director seemed not to be the only Trump official failing to see the irony of their remarks on Saturday. 'The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal Law Enforcement are designed to prevent the removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens from our soil; a dangerous invasion facilitated by criminal cartels (aka Foreign Terrorist Organizations) and a huge NATIONAL SECURITY RISK,' wrote Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Colombian presidential hopeful in critical condition after being shot during assassination attempt
A Colombian presidential candidate was shot in the head at a campaign rally in the capital city of Bogotá on Saturday. Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay was talking to a group of about 250 residents in Fontibon neighborhood when two shooters, including a 15-year-old boy, opened fired, the National Police said. The lawmaker was shot between the head and neck and was rushed to in ambulance to a neighborhood clinic, where he was stabilized. He was later transferred to Fundación Santa Fe Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Disturbing video footage showed Uribe Turbay addressing how we would handle mental health crisis when he crashed to the ground as three shots were fired. At least four more shots followed as the shocked crowed dispersed. A separate video showed three men holding the presidential hopeful and adding pressure to the wound on his neck and head while a multitude of people screamed and cried for help. A surveillance video showed the teen suspect racing out of the park and running down a street as Uribe Turbay's bodyguards chased after him. A second video showed the teenager hobbling towards a gated residential complex and then turning around to aim his gun at the guards. 'Respect life, that's the red line,' Colombian President Gustavo Petro said in a message posted on his X account. Shortly after making the post, Petro canceled a planned trip to France 'due to the seriousness of the events,' according to a presidential statement. His office condemned the cold-blooded assassination attempt in a separate statement. 'The National Government categorically and forcefully rejects the attack that recently targeted Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay,' the statement said. The teen was apprehended at the scene and is being treated for a leg injury, he said. A firearm was also seized. 'I have ordered the Colombian military and police forces and intelligence agencies to deploy all their capabilities to urgently clarify the facts,' said Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez. The federal government said it was offering a reward of about $729,000 for the capture of those responsible. Senator Uribe Turbay is the son of a journalist Diana Turbay, who was kidnapped and killed in 1991 during one of the country's most violent periods. Colombia will hold a presidential election on May 31, 2026, the end of the current term of Petro, the first leftist to come to power in Colombia. Uribe Turbay announced his presidential bid in March.

Trump attends UFC championship fight in New Jersey, taking a break from politics, Musk feud
President Donald Trump walked out to a thunderous standing ovation just ahead of the start of the UFC pay-per-view card at the Prudential Center on Saturday night, putting his public feud with tech billionaire Elon Musk on hold to instead watch the fierce battles inside the cage. Trump was accompanied by UFC President Dana White and the pair headed to their cageside seats to Kid Rock's 'American Bad Ass.' Trump and White did the same for UFC's card last November at Madison Square Garden, only then they were joined by Musk. Trump shook hands with fans and supporters — a heavyweight lineup that included retired boxing champion Mike Tyson — on his way to the cage. Trump was joined by his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, along with son Eric Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump shook hands with the UFC broadcast team that included Joe Rogan. Rogan hosted Trump on his podcast for hours in the final stages of the campaign last year. UFC fans went wild for Trump and held mobile devices in their outstretched arms to snap pictures of him. Trump arrived in time for the start of a card set to include two championship fights. Julianna Peña and Merab Dvalishvili were scheduled to each defend their 135-pound championships. UFC fighter Kevin Holland won the first fight with Trump in the building, scaled the cage and briefly chatted with the President before his post-fight interview. ___
