Tusshar Kapoor Reveals How He Was Targeted For Being A Star Kid: "Hero Dikhne Laayak Nahi Ho"
New Delhi:
Tusshar Kapoor made his big Bollywood debut in 2001 with Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan. Jeetendra's son Tusshar Kapoor recently got candid about discussions surrounding nepotism. He spoke about how today it is more rampant, but even two decades ago, it still existed.
Tusshar told Hindustan Times, "It had started in my time, too. Especially if you were from a film background, then the glass is always half empty for a certain section of the media. You have to be very thick-skinned. Bahut neecha giraane ki koshish, bahut negativity thi (There were efforts to pull you down, a lot of negativity)."
Furthermore, speaking about how certain section of the media tried to derail his career and pull him down, Tusshar added, "If you come to a press conference naturally without makeup and hair, you are criticised that aap hero d ikhne ke laayak nahi ho (you don't look like a hero). If you come with makeup and hair done, you are told you are too filmy. Everyone was trying to pull you down."
Tusshar concluded by saying, "I feel fortunate enough to have the willpower to tolerate it and just concentrate on my work. That work ethic is what took me forward. The film (Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai) was released, and it did really well. Otherwise, I could have been crushed under this pressure. I didn't come into the industry feeling I had to live up to someone's expectations. But there was an attempt to constantly judge and derail my path. But the audience is very pure. They will judge you based on what they see on the screen."
He furthermore shared that it is not that easy for star kids. The first film is easier, but even there it is a matter of chance. It is all about how one finishes the first film and then the choices made thereafter.

‘Chaliye aap mere saath': Jaya Bachchan lashes out at paparazzi as they swarmed her outside Rono Mukherjee's prayer meet
Several actors attended the prayer meet of late director Rono Mukherjee, which was held in Mumbai recently. Among them was veteran actor, MP Jaya Bachchan who almost lost her cool when paparazzi surrounded her outside the venue. Several videos of the incident have surfaced online, sparking debate about Jaya's infamous equation with the media and photographers. In a video, Jaya dressed in white, is seen walking out of the prayer meet venue. She was with the late director's son Samrat Mukherjee when paparazzi surrounded them for pictures. Reacting to the frenzy, Jaya seemed irritated. She asked Samrat in Bengali, "Eder kano daako (Why do you ask them to come)?" He answered her, 'Aami daakini (I didn't call them),' as per a report of Hindustan Times. In another viral video, Jaya and Shweta seemed to be waiting for the car when the former slammed the paparazzi. Sarcastically, she told them, "Chaliye aap log mere saath. Aajaiyye (Come with us. Do come)." She then murmured, "Bakwas sab, gande gande se sab (Nonsense)." Rono Mukherjee was a Bollywood director who helmed movies like Haiwan (1977) and Tu Hi Meri Zindagi (1965). Belonging to the Mukherjee-Samarth family, he was the elder brother of Deb Mukherjee. Lesser known but prominent, he was the brother of Shomu Mukherjee (Kajol's father), Subbir Mukherjee, Joy Mukherjee, and Deb Mukherjee. Rono died in Mumbai on 28 May. He was 83. His funeral took place on Wednesday around 4 pm at Pawan Hans in Mumbai. Rono was also the uncle of Bollywood actors Kajol, and Rani Mukerji, and the father of actress Sharbani Mukherjee. He was also the uncle of director Ayan Mukerji and actress Tanishaa Mukerji. His cousins were Ram Mukherjee (Rani Mukerji's father), Shyam Mukherjee, Gitanjali Mukherjee, Subhash Mukherjee, and Sanjoy Mukherjee. The loss of Rono Mukherjee is the second tragedy for the Mukerji family in recent months. In March, Ayan Mukerji's father and veteran actor Deb Mukherjee passed away at the age of 83. Jaya Bachchan shares a close bond with the Mukerji family and is often seen visiting them during key moments. Meanwhile on the work front, Jaya Bachchan was last seen in filmmaker Karan Johar's romance drama, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It also starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh alongside Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.

Special NDPS Court Grants Rhea Chakraborty Permission To Travel Abroad
Last Updated: Rhea Chakraborty was booked in a drugs case linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. A special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has granted permission to actress Rhea Chakraborty to travel abroad for professional commitments. The court has allowed her to travel out of India from June 1 to September 15, 2025. Chakraborty, who is involved in a drug case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been granted permission to visit Sri Lanka, Serbia, and various European countries to work on a new project. Rhea Chakraborty had recently submitted an application in the court seeking permission to travel abroad. She had stated that she was required to travel for the filming of Stepsons season one, an international production. Therefore, she requested the temporary release of her passport for visa processing. However, the prosecution opposed the plea and argued that the actress might use this opportunity to abscond. Rejecting the concerns, the court stated that Chakraborty is a Mumbai resident with 'deep roots in society". In an order dated May 29, Special Judge CS Datir stated that Rhea had previously travelled abroad with the court's permission when she also complied fully with all bail conditions. 'Considering her request and keeping in mind her past behaviour, I am inclined to allow her to travel abroad for the aforesaid period," the court ruled and then added, 'There is no occasion that she had infringed the bail conditions," as quoted by Hindustan Times. For the unversed, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2020 after they found some chats with alleged drug peddlers on her WhatsApp. She was granted bail later, but had restrictions on her travel for a long time. Previously, in an interview, the actress, who was recently seen in Roadies, recalled her jail experience and called it 'frustrating'. 'It's frustrating; they're languishing, but they know when and how to catch that happiness. And it can be as small as a samosa on a Sunday. It can be as small as somebody dancing for them. So it's just perspective; it's how you look at it," she said. 'At that point, yes, my life was in the worst hell it could have been. But heaven or hell is a choice in your head that you can make. It's difficult to choose heaven each time. But the battle is of the mind, and if you have the strength and desire in your heart, you'll most definitely battle the mind and win," Rhea added.
