From minutes to moments: Sun Life equips advisors with GenAI-powered notes assistant tool Français

TORONTO, June 26, 2025 /CNW/ - Sun Life Canada has developed and launched a Notes Assistant tool powered by GenAI to efficiently and securely summarize Client meetings for advisors. This technology enables advisors to move with purpose and speed, spending less time on administrative operations and more quality time with Clients and the conversations that matter. "This note-taking tool might be the best process upgrade delivered to advisors that I can recall in recent years," said Chris Poole, President of CWP Financial Services Inc. and Certified Financial Planner, Sun Life. "Access to the tool is transforming how I spend my time with Clients, allowing me to focus my time and energy on the things that truly matter. The noticeable time saved is allowing our entire advisory team to level up even more on quality, speed and consistency which will continue to change the game for us and for the Clients we serve." As an early adopter of GenAI, Sun Life first launched this note-taking tool as a pilot in 2024 with a subset of advisors. Some of the key features include summarized Client meetings, a list of action items from the meeting, and draft Client emails that include next steps. In the pilot program, 100 per cent of advisors saved more than 15 minutes per meeting, and 65 per cent saved more than 30 minutes per meeting. The cumulative impact over a single day or week is significant. Notes Assistant also includes an action-items feature that results in improved speed and consistency in sending Client communications. The pilot enabled the team to test for benefit while still upholding GenAI ethics and privacy principles. As with any new technology, Sun Life takes a thoughtful and responsible approach, balancing digital innovation with a long-held commitment to keep Client data safe and secure. Clients need to provide verbal consent before the tool is used, and data is not allowed to pass outside of Sun Life's safe and secure technology ecosystem. "Earning the trust of our Clients has been a foundational part of our business for the last 160 years. Listening to the needs of our advisors and Clients informs where we focus time and resources. We're innovating to solve for a very real need, freeing up advisor time so they can further deepen relationships with Clients," says Rowena Chan, President, Sun Life Financial Distributors (Canada) Inc. and Senior Vice-President, Retail Advice & Solutions. "Clients need trusted, tailored solutions, and this only comes from a rich, Client-advisor experience. If we can leverage GenAI to help make this happen, and complement our personalized approach, there is huge benefit for all." Sun Life's Notes Assistant is just one of many initiatives being explored and launched by Sun Life to make it easier for Clients to connect and partner with advisors. Finding ways to streamline the day-to-day, enhances advisors' abilities to help Clients to more easily reach their goal of achieving lifetime financial security. This innovation is part of Sun Life's broader digital leadership journey, which is focused on delivering seamless, personalized and intuitive experiences across every touchpoint. UN Global Compact Marks 15-Year Milestone in Global Anti-Corruption Initiative, Underscoring Integrity as Cornerstone of Sustainable Development

MEXICO CITY, June 26, 2025 /CNW/ -- The United Nations Global Compact commemorated the successful conclusion of its 15-year Anti-Corruption Collective Action (ACCA) initiative at a special two-day event held on 26–27 June. Funded since its inception in 2010 by the Siemens Integrity Initiative, the project commemorated a remarkable journey of promoting business integrity and combating corruption across the globe. The event brought together a diverse group of more than 100 leaders from business, Government, international organizations, academia and civil society, hosted in collaboration with UN Global Compact Country Networks Mexico and Brazil. Discussions highlighted powerful achievements and valuable insights derived from ACCA initiatives implemented by 13 Global Compact Country Networks. A cornerstone of the event was the launch of the comprehensive legacy report, 15 Years of Collective Action: Stories of Integrity from the Private Sector. The report captures global impacts through compelling narratives that vividly illustrate how cross-sector collaboration has tangibly transformed business practices, enhanced transparency and fostered ethical leadership worldwide. Sanda Ojiambo, CEO & Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, stated: "The Anti-Corruption Collective Action initiative has proven that integrity is not just good ethics — it's good business. Corruption erodes trust, weakens institutions and hampers sustainable development. Collective Action has demonstrated its power to align companies, Governments and civil society behind a shared vision of transparency and accountability. As we commemorate these successes, we reaffirm our call for continued collaboration to sustain momentum towards a more equitable and ethical global economy." Key highlights from the event and legacy report include: 1. Collective Action as a Driver of Sustainable Development: The ACCA initiative underscored the vital role of collaboration in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions. Participants reiterated how partnerships have multiplied individual efforts, creating lasting improvements in governance and corporate responsibility. 2. Impact through Storytelling: By harnessing the power of storytelling, the legacy report connects audiences to the real-world impacts of anti-corruption efforts. Personal accounts from business executives, community leaders and stakeholders offer insights into how ethical practices have reshaped corporate cultures and communities, making the case for continued global cooperation. 3. Ongoing Commitment to Transparency and Integrity: Recognizing the enduring importance of Collective Action, participants highlighted the need for continued engagement and knowledge sharing. The event also spotlighted resources such as the Uniting against Corruption: A Playbook on Anti-Corruption Collective Action, the ACCA e-learning course and the Doing Business with Integrity course designed to foster transparency and guide future initiatives. The report features stories organized by key themes, including Engaging the Next Generation of Ethical Leaders, Harnessing Digital Technology for Transparency, and more. Each theme is illustrated with real-world examples of how the project strengthens good governance, builds trust and promotes business integrity in various sectors globally. The UN Global Compact, as a leading voice in Collective Action, has consistently emphasized the importance of collaboration across sectors to combat corruption and promote integrity. ACCA has catalyzed widespread change and established Collective Action as a vital framework for addressing complex global challenges like corruption. Looking ahead, the UN Global Compact calls on companies worldwide to join forces in scaling up anti-corruption efforts. Canadians encouraged to check home insurance coverage on National Insurance Awareness Day Français

TORONTO, June 26, 2025 /CNW/ - June 28 marks the third annual National Insurance Awareness Day in Canada, which is recognized by the Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO), a national coalition of insurance regulators. On this day, Canadians are encouraged to take time to review their insurance policies and engage in dialogue with their licensed insurance professionals to ensure they have the right coverage for their homes and property. Insurance provides security by helping people in recovering from losses caused by events such as damage, illness, or death. However, many people underestimate the value of their personal belongings, property, or the cost to rebuild their home when filing an insurance claim. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that your home insurance coverage is adequate to fully protect your property. "With National Insurance Awareness Day on June 28, Canadians are reminded to review their insurance policies periodically throughout the year to remain up to date. Do they have sufficient coverage to support their resilient recovery if a loss occurs?" says Louise Gauthier, CISRO Chair. "Our goal is for every Canadian to feel well protected. That's why we encourage everyone to use this opportunity to review their insurance coverage." Considerations when reviewing or buying home insurance policies: Have there been any lifestyle changes that might require a review of your insurance policy? Has there been a change in value, a sale, or accumulation of items since the last time you looked at your policy? Has there been any work (e.g. finishing the basement) or economic realities that could lead to an increase in the cost to rebuild or replace your property (for example, current replacements or rebuilding costs)? The sale of insurance is regulated in Canada. Insurance salespersons, agents, brokers, and adjusters must be licensed to conduct insurance business. A licensed insurance professional can provide you with expertise and advice to ensure you have risk protection for what matters most. You can make sure you are dealing with a licensed salesperson, agent, broker, agency or firm by looking up their name and licence status on your local provincial or territorial regulator's website. About CISRO The Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations is a forum of Canadian regulatory authorities who are dedicated to consistent qualifications and conduct of business standards for insurance intermediaries. CISRO members collaborate on initiatives that support a consistent approach to consumer protection through the regulation of insurance intermediaries.
