
Landslip closes Dartmoor railway line in Devon
Railway services in part of Devon have been cancelled after a landslip forced a train line's closure.National Rail said the incident had been reported between Crediton and Okehampton on the Dartmoor Line at about 01:40 BST.It said Great Western Railway train services running between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton had been suspended, with disruption expected until 13:00.A spokesperson added Network Rail engineers had not been able to reach the landslip site safely due to the local weather conditions.
National Rail said rail replacement services had been arranged to help passengers affected by the closure.Passengers could also use their train tickets on Stagecoach bus routes 5A and 6A between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton.Trains on the Tarka Line, between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple, would still stop at Crediton, National Rail added.

A special train forming a travelling celebration marking the 200th anniversary of the modern railway is to criss-cross the UK over the next 12 exhibition would highlight British railway firsts, get visitors to test their rail-related skills, showcase hidden sides of the railway and encourage youngsters to get involved, organisers "Inspiration" train is due to be launched at the Severn Valley Railway on 27 June before visiting 60 locations, such as the National Railway Museum in York, Shildon's Locomotion and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, over the coming Roberts, from the Railway 200 campaign, said it would be an "unforgettable experience" for visitors. Flood warnings in South West after heavy rain
Flood warnings have been issued across the south-west of England after heavy rain and some stormy conditions were forecast in the Environment Agency (EA) issued four warnings urging people to "act now" in Devon, along with one warning for part of Exmoor in officials said flood waters might be deep fast-flowing in the warning also issued 11 flood alerts - with 10 in Devon and one in western Cornwall - with river levels expected to be high on Saturday following heavy rainfall overnight.
