Ticketless passenger attacks staff, damages railway property
The incident occurred around 3pm onboard a Churchgate–Virar fast train between Dadar and Borivli. Shamsher Ibrahim, a Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector (Dy CTI) with Western Railway, was conducting checks in the First Class compartment when he found three passengers travelling with second class tickets. Further inspection revealed one of them had no ticket at all for the journey between Andheri and Borivli.
All three were asked to deboard at Borivli station and were taken to the TTE/TC office for further action.
It was here that the situation escalated.

"One of the passengers grew agitated during questioning and began damaging equipment inside the office, including a computer CPU and other railway tools," said an official.
In the chaos that followed, both railway staff and the passenger sustained minor injuries. They were given immediate medical attention, and the GRP (Government Railway Police) was called in.
The unruly passenger was later handed over to the GRP for legal action under sections related to assault, damage to govt property, and obstruction of duty.

Surat: Dumas police busted a party at the 'Weekend Address' hotel, where liquor was allegedly being served, and arrested four men and two women, all between 23 and 25 years of age. A man had called the Surat police control room to report that his daughter-in-law was at a liquor party in Room 443 of the hotel. Dumas police then raided the room and caught the accused, in possession of a liquor bottle. Both the women arrested are artists, while the men are professionals and businessmen. Dumas police also learned that the hotel room was rented out without compliance with the police commissioner's notification on rentals. "Of 464 rooms in the hotel, many are owned by private individuals who sign a rent agreement and sublet rooms. The person renting the room offers it to others for higher rates. As his contract is over, police will file a separate complaint against the room owner," said assistant commissioner of police Deep Vakil. — Police to question informer As the party was disrupted due to a family dispute, police are probing the incident with caution. Sources stated police are now investigating how the informer became aware of the party. "We will get a statement from the informer on how he learned about the woman being in that particular room. Was he following her or did he deploy someone to monitor her activities? This will aid the investigation," said an official.

Gorakhpur: Inspired by Vrindavan-based spiritual guru Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj, a 13-year-old boy from Gorakhpur ran away from home to become a seer. The boy, identified as Aman Dubey, son of Amarnath Dubey, was eventually found near a ghat in Varanasi after a police-led search using CCTV footage and surveillance. "I want to become like Sant Premanand Maharaj. That's why I left home. I first came to Varanasi and planned to stay at a temple here for a few days before heading to Mathura to be in his refuge," Aman told the police after being rescued. A resident of Bimutia village under the Barhalganj police station limits, Aman left for school on August 1 as usual but didn't return home. When he didn't come back even by 8 pm, his worried family members launched a search and eventually filed a missing report the next day. Police began scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas, including bus stops and railway stations. In one of the recordings, Aman was seen boarding a train from Dohrighat towards Varanasi. His photo was shared with GRP and local police in Varanasi, who finally traced him near a ghat, police said. The GRP handed him over to the local child welfare body, Childline. His parents, accompanied by Gorakhpur police, left for Varanasi on Monday to bring him back, police said. According to Aman's father, he was highly influenced by spiritual discourses and regularly watched videos of Sant Premanand on social media. "He never shared anything with us, but he was deeply motivated by the teachings," said Amarnath Dubey, a furniture businessman. 3 killed, 4 injured in separate mishaps over the weekend in Mumbai and Thane
Mumbai/Thane: Three persons were killed and four others suffered injuries in three separate incidents in Vikhroli and Thane over the weekend. In the first incident that took place in Vikhroli (E) on Saturday evening, an autorickshaw driver fatally knocked down a pedestrian and injured three others within a span of 30 minutes. Vikhroli police constable Jyoti Gite witnessed the first mishap at 6pm near Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk. She said the auto driver, Jalindar Dongre (66), rammed into Manoj Goud (28), who was walking along the road. As no ambulance was available, Gite and traffic warden More took Goud, who suffered severe head injuries, to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Hospital in the same auto. Goud was declared dead before admission. Shockingly, en route to the hospital, Dongre hit three pedestrians — Radhamohan Panigrahi, Saibani Panigrahi, and Chandradevi Verma — in Tagore Nagar. They all sustained minor injuries.
