Farmer Wants A Wife announces shock twist set to shake up the series - following two stars walking off the show after finding love

Daily Mail24-05-2025

In a dramatic twist to this year's Farmer Wants A Wife, Channel Seven has announced the late arrival of a brand new farmer set to shake things up.
Farmer Jack, a 26-year-old dairy farmer from Tasmania, will make his belated series debut on Monday night, after both Tom and Jarrad exited the show early due to finding true love.
His unexpected entrance looks to bring some drama to the dating show, with a recent trailer showing a flustered host Natalie Gruzlewski telling Jack: 'This has not happened before. I will have to double-check that, just give me one minute.'
Described by friends as 'Steady Eddy' due to his calm nature and clear sense of direction, Jack is passionate about all things country life.
He is searching for a down-to-earth partner who shares his love for family, animals and the simple things in life.

'I'm looking for someone with girl-next-door vibes. Someone who is family-oriented, has a good sense of humour, and is willing to move to the country, who wants kids too,' he said in a statement.
Jack was part of the original casting pool for the 2025 season but was held back after the original four farmers were chosen.
His addition is sure to shake up the series, with the season seemingly winding down after Farmer Jarrad and Farmer Tom chose their partners early and exited the show.
The shock move has ruffled the feathers of several long-time viewers who shared their thoughts on social media.
'Bringing a farmer in when the show's nearly finished is stupid. Too cruel to the ladies,' one person sniped.
'Isn't it almost over? He's a bit late to the party,' a second added.
Earlier this week, Farmer Tom became the second man to leave FWAW after finding love, however fans of the show were up in arms about his choice of lady.
Tom, 31, who farms sheep in Borambola New South Wales, was down to two women in episode 10 - Eliza and Georgie - and after visiting their families and taking them on their final date, he whittled his way down to one.
'Through this whole experience, I enjoyed every moment I've been with you,' he told his chosen beau.
'I'm excited to take the next step in this. I've fallen really hard and fast for you, Georgie. I'm in love with you.'
Prior to that, Farmer Jarrad's journey on FWAW came to a thrilling conclusion.
Jarrad appeared to find his happily ever after with Queensland bartender Chloe, after he picked her to be his final choice on the dating show, dumping his second choice, Victorian education support worker Ashlee.
Down to his final two ladies, he met their families, hoping this would help him in his decision making.
Despite having strong affections for both ladies, Jarrad announced bartender Chloe had won his heart, saying the pair went together like 'cold beer and country music'.
Only Farmer Thomas and Farmer Thomas remain from the original contestants and Jack, who has been paired with eight women from which to find true love, is sure to keep things as lively as ever.

Top chef spills on the dish she always avoids ordering when dining at restaurants: 'It's not snobby'

When cookbook author and TV personality Silvia Colloca heads out for dinner, you'd think a plate of pasta would be a no-brainer. After all, the Italian-Australian chef is best known for championing the soulful simplicity of traditional Italian cuisine on her shows and in her seven best-selling cookbooks. At home in Sydney 's Northern Beaches, Colloca often makes pasta and pizza from scratch several times a week. And it seems the renowned chef is extremely picky about one dish in particular when dining out - and rarely orders it when she's not cooking it herself to avoid disappointment. Colloca explained that pasta, especially dried varieties, must be cooked al dente - meaning it should have a slight bite. 'It's more important than you think, and not as snobby as it sounds,' she told SMH. Overcooked pasta is a deal breaker for her. She explained that cooking al dente is particularly relevant to dry pasta, advising home cooks to take it off the stove a couple of minutes before the packet suggests, as it will continue cooking from the residual heat. For example, if the packet's instructions say to cook it for 12 minutes, Colloca suggests taking it out after 10 to 11 minutes. The top chef's passion for pasta goes beyond personal preference - she's also an ambassador for family-run pasta brand San Remo, which, like her, puts al dente at the heart of good cooking. And Colloca isn't the only expert dishing out pasta wisdom. London-Sardinia-based chef Francesco Mattana previously went viral after revealing the real mistake shoppers make when buying dried pasta at the supermarket - and why your favourite yellow penne might not be the best choice. 'There are many great companies that make incredible dry pasta out there, so instead I'm sharing a few key points for how to choose the best,' he said. According to Mattana, when it comes to quality, colour and texture are key. Pale, floury-looking pasta is actually a good sign - it means the dough has been dried slowly at a low temperature, preserving nutrients. In contrast, brightly coloured yellow pasta has often been dried quickly at high heat, a process that can damage flavour and texture. He also suggests running your fingers along the surface. 'The surface of the pasta should be rough and opaque,' he said, explaining that this texture - often labelled as trafilatura al bronzo or bronze drawn - helps sauces cling better and gives your dish that luxurious, creamy finish. And what about how the pasta cooks? 'When pasta is made with good quality durum wheat semolina, it will hold its shape and not go mushy,' Mattana added. Shoppers in the comments were quick to name their go-to store brands, with De Cecco, Barilla, Molisana, Garofalo and Rummo topping the list. So next time you're reaching for your favourite packet at the supermarket, skip the shiny yellow stuff and look for something with a rough edge - literally. And if you're dining out, maybe take a page from Silvia Colloca's book: unless the pasta is perfectly al dente, it's probably not worth it.

Inside Aussie model Dominique Elissa's glamorous hens party in Mudgee ahead of big Italian wedding to fiancé Tom Bull... after the pair quickly got married in the hospital so her dying mother could walk her down the aisle

Following the heartbreaking loss of her mum, Dominique Elissa was showered with love and bridal festivities by her friends in celebration of her upcoming European nuptials. The popular model, who is set to wed Tom Bull a second time around in a big Italian ceremony, and her Aussie A-lister pals descended on Lowe's Winery in Mudgee on Saturday as they toasted the bride-to-be. In a slew of snaps uploaded to Instagram, Dominique could be seen wearing a $1,200 white mini-dress at her glamorous hens party. The fancy frock boasted a corseted bodice, accentuating the model's tiny waist, and a ruffled skirt that showed off Dominique's long, trim pins. She finished off the bridal ensemble with a lace veil, a sequined bag and a natural makeup look as she danced with her friends and posed for pictures. The popular model, who is set to wed fiancé Tom Bull in a big Italian ceremony, and her Aussie A-lister pals descended on Lowe's Winery in Mudgee on Saturday as they toasted the bride-to-be Also in attendance at the hens do were models Natalie Roser, Aisha Jade, Tilly Jac Smith, Jordan Simek and Shannon Lawson. 'Feeling so lucky today,' she captioned the post, which has garnered nearly 8,000 likes. She went on to say that the girls who couldn't make her upcoming ceremony in Italy had created her 'dream' hens party. 'The sun was out for us, so many big belly laughs and deep chats about life and the future.' She finished off the post: 'My heart feels so full from the incredible girlhood we've created.' Despite the excitement for her European nuptials, Dominique sadly will marry her beau a second time around without her mother, who passed away just a few weeks after walking her daughter down the aisle in a hospital ceremony. The Aussie model made headlines in March after she was forced to move her wedding ceremony to the Prince of Wales Hospital after her mother Odile Faludi's health began to decline following a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. She revealed on Instagram she was initially 'upset, angry and a mess' when she received the heartbreaking news, but decided she would stop at nothing to have her mother walk her down the aisle. Sharing images and videos of the bittersweet ceremony with her followers, Dominique and Tom made the best of their union as they celebrated with their families, who met for the first time on the big day. Dominique was all smiles as she slipped into a white off-the-shoulder gown which featured a fitted corset and sheer pleated skirts. She covered her long brunette tresses with a white lace veil which matched the lace detailing at the bust of her gown. The blushing bride kept her makeup minimal, opting for a nude lip and bronzed eye shadow. Meanwhile, now-husband Tom donned a classic black tuxedo and put a black bow tie on their golden retriever dog, and ring-bearer, Crumble. Dominique spent her day swinging between laughter and tears as she shared heartbreaking videos of her nuptials and her mother's first look at her wedding dress. One tear-jerking clip saw the model struggling to hold back tears as she hugged her mother in her hospital room. 'Don't make me cry,' Dominique sobbed as her father pressed a kiss to her forehead while her mother slowly pulled herself out of bed. Odile wore a beautiful turquoise strapless gown for the big day, walking her daughter down the aisle as her husband pushed along her wheelchair. 'My mum's dream since I was born was to walk me down the aisle and we did everything to make it happen, even if it meant getting married at the hospital,' Dominique told her followers. 'Mum always said the biggest decision you'll ever make is who you spend the rest of your life with, and that always stuck with me. 'The most emotional 48 hours of my life. I'm in awe of this incredible woman. It's international woman's day as well, and she will forever be my greatest teacher and inspiration.' Elsewhere, Dominique detailed how heartbroken she first was when she learned she had to have her wedding ceremony at the hospital. 'When we were told the day before that we had to move our ceremony to the hospital, every part of me didn't want to do the reception anymore,' she said. 'I was upset, angry and a mess. I took time away to think [about] the decision and realised it was more important than ever that our families could have time to unite and get to know each other.

NRL star Angus Crichton cracks up Channel Nine's footy show panel by taking a VERY cheeky stab at the most feared man in the game Phil Gould

Roosters star Angus Crichton has taken a cheeky swipe at Bulldogs boss Phil Gould that left Channel Nine's footy show panelists and viewers in stitches. The Roosters have had a bumpy 2025 season following the departure of some big names, including Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Joey Manu and Joseph Sua'ali'i. The glamour club has also been depleted by ongoing injury setbacks and the recent loss of hooker Brandon Smith to Souths. Crichton, appearing on Monday night's 100% Footy, was asked by Gould about the 'drain' of players from the Roosters - and the Chooks star replied with what everyone was thinking. 'Angus, last year - Joey Manu, Sua'ali'i, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Luke Keary, Brandon Smith, Sam Walker, Sitili Tupouniua - it's a big drain on experienced talent isn't it?' Gould asked. Crichton replied: 'I know, somehow we still don't have any cash. And you guys keep signing everyone, so I don't know what's going on here. There needs to be an investigation.' The panelists erupted in laughter as Gould looked stunned. 'You're more than welcome here any time you want,' laughed co-host Paul Gallen. Footy fans watching at home also approved of the banter. 'That's my Wally Lewis medalist right there,' replied one X user. 'HA! Really threw Gus for a loop there. How good,' said another. 'Got him,' commented a third. Gould has recently been accused of misleading the public about the signing of young playmaker Lachlan Galvin. Galvin joined Canterbury after the Tigers agreed to give the 19-year-old an early release from his contract. The bombshell development occurred just a couple of weeks after Gould said his club had no intention of chasing Galvin. Gould has since stated that 'the goalposts shifted', referring to the Tigers backflipping on their earlier stance that they wouldn't release Galvin until his contract expired at the end of next season. On last Monday's episode of 100% Footy, the Bulldogs kingpin and rugby league journalist Michael Chammas had a heated exchange over the issue. The tense on-air clash saw Gould denying accusations that he misled the public about signing of Galvin. Following the fiery clash, reporter Phil Rothfield stated that Gould's reputation has taken a serious hit. 'I reckon he's been seriously damaged credibility wise and his reputation has been severely damaged at Channel 9 over this,' Rothfield said on the Off the Record podcast. 'I think the punters are awake to it and they are the lifeblood of every TV network that provides the ratings. I honestly think he's been badly damaged and people won't cop his bullsh** anymore.' 'Rugby league officials do lie and it's a fact we have to live with but when you are being paid nearly $1 million to sit on a (TV) panel, you are there to inform and say the truth.
