For value per dollar, the Narwal Freo X Ultra is still my personal favorite robot vacuum and mop combo. It's literally the one I use. Sure, the newer Narwal Freo Z Ultra is better, but it is also significantly more expensive—it costs twice as much right now, to be exact. Also, that's only if you have an Amazon Prime subscription; it's more expensive if you don't! And while the Narwal Freo X Ultra isn't the latest, it's also not really that old, launched in early 2024.
That said, the Narwal Freo X Ultra was the last premium offering from the brand, so it is very capable. It features a mighty 8,200Pa suction power. I've seen it pick up metal marbles with ease. Regular debris and dust will be no challenge. Additionally, the tri-laser system is really efficient at avoiding obstacles. I've had no issues with it in this department!
One of my favorite things about this model is its mopping system. It's kind of life-changing. The two rotating mops rotate, effectively scrubbing your floors. My previous robot cleaners would just drag a rag across the floor. Not only that, but when the robot returns to the dock, the system will recognize how dirty the mops came back. The robot will continue going back to mop until the floors are actually clean.

While we are on the topic of the base, it is super convenient. The dock can store both clean and dirty water, and the app will let you know when it's time to dump or refill it. The detergent goes in the base, too, and it is dispensed automatically. Additionally, the base will wash and dry your mopping pads, keeping funky, humid smells at bay.
The hands-off approach is amazing if you want a robot vacuum and mop that will require little maintenance on your end. The tangleless brush means you won't need to manually remove hair from it all the time, which is excellent news for those of us with long hair or pets. And the dust bin can store up to seven weeks of debris! I honestly rarely have to mess with it. I just dump the dirty water and refill the freshwater tank about once a week.
Again, this is a brand-new all-time low price for this model. Get it while you can. You will not regret it!

There are not many compromises in the Narwal Freo Pro to help bring the price down. Only a few controls in the base station, manual detergent addition, but still some of the best floor cleaning capabilities we've seen from a robot vacuum.

Now, if you want to save even more, the Narwal Freo Pro is a great robot, and it is also at a record-low price! It was released as a more affordable alternative to the brand's more expensive 2025 units, but it is actually very similar to the Narwal Freo X Ultra! Of course, the manufacturer made some sacrifices to reach a lower price, but it is actually better in some ways, too.
Let's talk about the differences. For starters, the suction power gets upgraded to 8,500Pa, so it's slightly stronger. Something that catches my eye is that the newer front brushes are better at avoiding tangles, making it an even better option for those of us with long hair and pets!
The rest of the experience is very similar in terms of features. The dock will wash and dry the mopping pads, obstacle detection is still outstanding, and you get the same seven-week debris collection time.
Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority
But, where are the downsides? Well, they honestly aren't many, and they aren't that annoying. The Narwal Freo Pro base doesn't have physical controls, so you'll need to rely on the app. That said, I have yet to use the physical controls on mine, so I personally wouldn't mind the lack of physical buttons. Additionally, it doesn't have automatic detergent dispensing. You'll need to throw in a tablet whenever you replace the freshwater tank. It's an extra little step, but definitely not a deal-breaker either.
If I were to pay full price for any of these, I would honestly go for the Narwal Freo Pro. Its downsides aren't that bad, and it is actually better in some ways. That said, today's deals put them very close in price. I would probably pay the extra $50 for the Narwal Freo X Ultra, mainly for the automatic detergent dispensing.
Again, these are both record-low prices, so go take advantage of these deals while you can! We don't see them sticking around for long. If you're not convinced by either of these, here's our list of the best robot vacuums!

Dolphin emulator hits a milestone as the full Wii catalog is now playable

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR GameCube and Wii emulator Dolphin just launched Release 2506. It has numerous fixes and new features, including breaking the 60fps barrier for the first time. The Nintendo Wii catalog is now fully compatible, with the last obscure title fixed. Dolphin emulator has been absolutely spoiling the emulation community for decades, and today yet another update has dropped to make GameCube and Wii emulation even better. Dolphin Release 2506 has a long list of fixes and new features, some of which are game-changing for compatible titles. The first fix has to do with audio stuttering on relatively weak machines. The team explained that user reports of audio stuttering are often due to games running below the target framerate. A new system has been implemented to hide audio hiccups better when frames are lost. Speaking of framerates, another series of fixes targeted frame pacing, which in simple terms is the time between frames. After some investigation, it was discovered that Dolphin suffered from significant variance in frame pacing, which can feel like judder to users who are sensitive to it. After the update, there should be little to no frame pacing issues on any platform. In terms of graphics, new anisotropic filtering options make games appear more similar to playing on a real console. The GameCube and Wii had native support for anisotropic filtering, but it was quite resource-intensive, so developers chose specific textures to apply it to. Dolphin applied to the filter to all or none of the textures previously, but a new option allows you to use the game's default settings, which will apply the filter as developers intended. The final non-compatible Wii game has now been patched to boot in Dolphin. Perhaps one of the biggest additions is the possibility to emulate games beyond 60fps. GameCube and Wii games were designed for analog televisions, with a hard limit of 60fps built into the systems. Thanks to a clever override added in this update, games like Super Mario Strikers and Mario Strikers Charged can now run at 120fps. Others, like Wind Waker and Super Mario Galaxy, have physics tied to frames, so the hack won't work. Dolphin also hit a major milestone with this update, as it can now boot the full GameCube and Wii catalogs. The final title giving trouble was an obscure Wii game called The Daring Game for Girls, but a new patch finally got it to work. On Android, you can now display your time played for each game. The feature was added in the last major update, so your play times will have started tracking then. However, there wasn't a way to see those times on Android until this update. You can now long press a game tile and tap Details to see how much time you've spent in game. There are a few more minor changes, such as adding support for PS3 Rock Band guitars and Wii Speak without the original hardware, so check out the full patch notes for more details. The Google Play Store listing hasn't been updated as of writing, but you can download the latest version for all platforms on the official website. Got a tip? Talk to us! Google Maps for Android Automotive will stop clashing with your vehicle's UI

Damien Wilde / Android Authority TL;DR Google Maps for Android Automotive is getting customized design elements. This new ability will allow the UI in Maps to match the UI of the native OS. Polestar announced that this feature would roll out to its cars in the coming weeks. While plenty of vehicles have Android Automotive installed, you won't find two brands with the exact same OS aesthetic. This is because Google lets car makers customize the UI to fit their desired user experience. However, the story is a little different for apps you have installed, as they are unaffected by the native OS's design influences. But this is changing for at least one auto brand soon. At SXSW London, Polestar revealed that it has been working with Google to bring customized design elements to Google Maps. These custom design elements would allow you to change the look of Maps so that it better matches the overall UI. Polestar says that this change will create 'a more balanced look and feel within the overall user interface.' In a LinkedIn post, the company shared the example below to show what this would look like. Currently, Google Maps on Android Automotive features rounded UI elements and uses different color themes than the rest of Polestar's UI. You can see what the current version looks like in the image on the left. Meanwhile, the center and right images show off the customized design. In these examples, you can see that the UI elements now have squared-off edges. The UI also adopts Polestar's default orange accent color. According to Polestar, this update is coming to all of its vehicles in the coming weeks. We would assume that Google is working with other brands to bring similar customization elsewhere, but it's unknown what the company's plans are. Got a tip? Talk to us!
