Ozzy Osbourne Replaced At No. 1 By One Of The Bestselling Rock Albums Of All Time

Even if Fleetwood Mac's album Rumours disappeared from the charts forever, it would likely always be regarded as one of the bestselling and top-performing releases of all time. Thankfully, the pop-rock classic never fully fades from the Billboard rankings and, in fact, often beats out many new projects from current stars. Rumours is on the rise yet again across a variety of Billboard charts in America, and this week, the Grammy-winning set returns to the summit on multiple lists at the same time. Rumours Returns to No. 1 on Several Charts Last week, Rumours sat at No. 2 on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. Now it turns around, and the Fleetwood Mac blockbuster regains control over both of those rosters, which are built around general consumption and focus on only the rock side of the music industry. Only a Few Weeks at No. 1 Rumours has spent the same length of time on both tallies, as it's now up to 440 frames on each list. The set has racked up half a dozen stays at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums ranking, and just five on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, which is slightly more competitive, as alternative titles are also included. The Essential Ozzy Osbourne Falls from No. 1 Last week, The Essential Ozzy Osbourne commanded both rock rankings, as Americans continued to rediscover Osbourne's work following his death in July. This frame, that compilation of many of his greatest solo smashes dips to third place on the Top Rock Albums ranking and to No. 5 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list. Rumours Climbs on Almost Every Billboard Chart Rumours rises on three other Billboard charts, as it ascends to No. 8 on the Vinyl Albums list and No. 18 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales roster. The decades-old title, which is nearing its fiftieth birthday, holds at No. 19 on the Top Streaming Albums tally — the only list where it doesn't advance.

Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham Make Announcement After Cryptic Posts

Originally appeared on E! Online and Lindsey Buckingham are bringing the band back together—sort of. The bandmates, who performed as Buckingham Nicks before joining Fleetwood Mac in 1974, announced Aug. 13 that they will be releasing a remastered version of their 1973 eponymous album this September. 'Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks' elusive 1973 studio album arrives September 19,' a description included in the YouTube video for their single, 'Don't Let Me Down Again,' read, 'with newly remastered sound for CD and digital debut.' Fans began speculating that a project from the two was in the works in July after Stevie, 77, and Lindsey, 75, shared coordinated posts on social media featuring lyrics from 'Frozen Love,' a song featured on their album. Minutes after Stevie shared the handwritten lyrics 'And if you go forward' on her Instagram page, Lindsey posted the rest of the line, 'I'll meet you there,' in what appeared to be his own handwriting. Along with the cryptic posts, fellow band member Mick Fleetwood shared his own musings on the song as he reflected on the pair's one-of-a-kind musical pairing. 'The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey, the magic of coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did, it's all in the song,' he said in a video shared on Instagram at the time. 'It was magic then, magic now. Of course, the former couple have had a tumultuous history, with their breakup serving as a key source of inspiration for Fleetwood Mac's seminal 1977 album Rumors. But despite their ups and downs, Stevie and Lindsey continued to coexist professionally until the latter's departure from the band in 1987. They even reunited 10 years later for another run in Fleetwood Mac until he exited again in 2018. 'When we walk onstage, we are still able to pull back that love affair, and we can have it, the audience gets to have it, and everybody enjoys it,' Stevie said during a 2009 appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. 'When we walk off the stage, we go to our own separate limousine and we go to our own separate hotel and we're cool. And then we do it again the next night.' Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham tease long-lost debut album

Cue 'Silver Springs.' Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are officially reuniting — sort of — after sparking reunion rumors on social media. The musicians have revealed that their 1973 album 'Buckingham Nicks' is getting reissued for the digital age. The record will be re-released for the first time in the US since the early 1980s. On Wednesday, Nicks, 77, and Buckingham, 75, released a joint Instagram video of a billboard advertising the album on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, Calif. 'Buckingham Nicks is available for pre-order now, out September 19th. 'Crying In The Night' is yours now. Listen at the link in bio,' they captioned the post. Fans flipped out over the news, considering Nicks and Buckingham had been at odds in recent years. 'Finally!!! I LOVE Long Distance Winner!!! This is awesome news!!' one person wrote. 'YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS! PRAISE THE MUSIC GODS,' a second added. Last week, Nicks and Buckingham posted coordinated Instagram posts that sent social media users into a frenzy. The pair began following each other on the app before Nicks posted a handwritten lyric from 'Frozen Love,' a love song off of 'Buckingham Nicks.' The image read, 'And if you go forward …' Shortly after, Buckingham completed the lyric with his own handwritten message that read, 'I'll meet you there.' The duo first met as high school students near Palo Alto, Calif., in the 1960s. Buckingham was in his rock band Fritz, and asked Nicks to join as their lead singer. After leaving the group, they launched their own band, Buckingham Nicks. Their album flopped, however, and they were dropped from their contract at Polydor Records. Soon after, they moved to Los Angeles. In 1974, Nicks and Buckingham were invited to join Fleetwood Mac but split romantically while recording the band's 1977 album, 'Rumours.' Both exes remained in Fleetwood Mac until Buckingham was fired following a behind-the-scenes altercation in 2018. Buckingham and Nicks weren't the only ones in the band with relationship woes. Around the same time as their late '70s breakup, Fleetwood Mac's John McVie and Christine McVie ended their marriage. Nicks went on to write 'Dreams,' while Buckingham penned 'Go Your Own Way' on the group's 'Rumours' album. Over the years, the former bandmates have thrown jabs at one another. In 1997, Nicks told Rolling Stone that she 'resented' the lyrics that Buckingham wrote in 'Go Your Own Way,' with lines insinuating the singer was 'packing up, shacking up' with different men after their breakup. 'He knew it wasn't true. It was just an angry thing that he said. Every time those words would come onstage, I wanted to go over and kill him,' explained the vocalist. 'He knew it, so he really pushed my buttons through that. It was like, 'I'll make you suffer for leaving me.'' By 2018, things came to a head when Fleetwood Mac was honored at that year's MusiCares benefit gala. An argument ensued, ending with Buckingham being fired from the band. He was replaced by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, as well as Neil Finn. Buckingham and Nicks allegedly didn't talk again until the celebration of life for McVie. The keyboardist died in 2022 at age 79. 'The only time I've spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,' the Grammy winner told Rolling Stone in 2024. 'I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.' In March, Buckingham reunited with another Fleetwood Mac member, Mick Fleetwood. The guitarist sat in on studio sessions with the band's namesake drummer, 78, who is working on a new solo album. Swedish producer Carl Falk spoke about the mini reunion on Threads. 'Slightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on,' he wrote. 'And to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it. Can't wait to finish this one.' Solve the daily Crossword
