Truck driver charged in death of New Hampshire pedestrian
NEWPORT, NH (ABC22/FOX44) — The driver of a dump truck that struck and killed a man crossing the street in Newport last week will be arraigned today on two felony charges.
Charles Deraway, 38, was arrested Monday and faces charges of negligent homicide and second-degree assault, both Class B felonies
Newport police on Monday also identified the the victim as Zachary Shepard, 34, of Newport.

Police say Shepard was hit while crossing Central Street at a marked crosswalk. Deraway, who was turning east on Center Street, allegedly failed to yield to Shepard.
Emergency responders treated Shepard for multiple blunt force trauma injuries at the scene before he was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The dump truck, a 2016 Westerner, is owned by Barton Excavating.

Five teens arrested after stolen firearms found during traffic stop
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (FOX 44) – Five teenagers have been arrested after firearms were discovered during a College Station traffic stop. Police say a traffic stop resulted in the recovery of three firearms, two of which were reported stolen. One of the firearms, a Glock 19, had a modified 'glock switch' making it capable of being a fully automatic weapon. Five arrests were made during this traffic stop. Jacarias Javon Hurst, 17, has been charged with Unlawful Carry of a Weapon and Minor in Possession of Tobacco. He is in the Brazos County Jail with bond set at $5,300. Darris Daquan Johnson, 18, has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, Prohibited Weapon and an outstanding warrant. He is in the Brazos County Jail with bond set at $16,000. Trevin Tremaun Bell, 18, has been charged with Unlawful Carry of a Weapon Minor in Possession of Tobacco. He is in the Brazos County Jail with bond set at $4,300. Kennedye Nicole Young, 18, has been charged with Possession of Marijuana and Minor in Possession of Tobacco. She is in the Brazos County Jail with bond set at $2,300. A 17-year-old man was charged with No Safety Seat Belt Passenger. Police also said a small amount of marijuana and tobacco products were found during the search of the vehicle. One seriously injured, one in custody following Jericho crash
JERICHO, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – One person was arrested and another left with life-threatening injuries after the crash that closed part of Vermont Route 117 Wednesday. 31-year-old Anthony J Burbo was driving with two passengers when he left the roadway and entered the oncoming-drivers lane, police say. The vehicle he was driving, a 2010 Subaru Outback then reportedly collided with a 1997 Honda Civic. The Honda driver, from Richmond has life threatening injuries. Burbo was screened and arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, among other charges. He was cited, taken to a correctional facility and lodged on $1000 bail.
