Freaky Thursday will be livestreamed on Beacon, Twitch, and YouTube at 7 p.m. PT. Fans will be able to make donations or purchase rewards to shape the story through Tiltify. The group has set a goal of raising $180,000 with the livestream, and each milestone will unlock in-game surprises like 'new allies, unexpected adversaries or even character sheet swaps, ensuring an unpredictable and exciting adventure shaped entirely by the community's contributions,' Critical Role said.
The one-shot will provide donations to the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund, the Latino Community Foundation, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. As of Saturday, 28 people have died in the fires, according to NBC News. Hundreds of others have lost their homes and thousands more people were forced to evacuate.
Critical Role has evolved into a multimedia enterprise with its core show, one-offs and spinoff web series, comics and books, an animated series, and their own subscription-based streaming platform, Beacon. They've also developed tabletop gaming systems, such as Candela Obscura and Daggerheart.
'We've worked so hard to build the foundation of this company that we want to be the rest of our lives in a way that will shepherd everything we want to create,' Mercer previously told Rolling Stone about Critical Role's legacy. 'And in time shepherd to the next generation of storytellers. I hope to one day pass the torch to a bunch of incredible people with new ideas and new perspectives and give them the space to tell their stories. And we can be the distant creative grandparents to them and be proud from the shadows.'

Who's Afraid of Sabrina Carpenter's Sexuality?

I've known that we were living in a depressingly puritanical society ever since I was in middle school, and my principal took one look at the knitted shrug I was wearing over my uniform polo shirt and told me, 'We're glad you're proud of your body, but take it off.' (I was twelve!!!) Yet the fact is never more apparent to me than when a fresh round of Sabrina Carpenter discourse blazes its way through social media. The latest very-online kerfuffle to involve the 26-year-old pop singer involves the recently released cover art for her next album, Man's Best Friend, out in August. The cover shows Carpenter kneeling on the floor in an all-black outfit while an unseen hand tugs at her mussed blond tresses. X content This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from. While this may be the most overt example of Carpenter putting her playful and undeniably sexual spin on an already horny cultural trope (Babygirl, anyone?), it's hardly the first. This is, after all, the woman who made out with an alien at the 2024 VMAs and sparked outrage over the concept of the Eiffel tower sex position while on tour. 'It's always so funny to me when people complain,' Carpenter recently told Rolling Stone, referring to the backlash against her music's more risqué references. 'They're like, 'All she does is sing about this,' but those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show.' As usual, Carpenter is 100% right; our cultural fixation on the way that she expresses her sexuality seems like nothing so much as a reflection of our own fixation on sex in all its forms—but particularly when it's embraced unabashedly by an empowered young woman. Obviously, the notion of a pint-size, blond, wildly sexy pop star is nothing new—put some respect on Britney Spears's name!—but Carpenter sets herself apart from the rest by being, or at least appearing, fully in control of the image she projects. Watching Carpenter show off her gams during her Louboutin-shod tap dance at the 2025 Grammys, for instance, was uniquely fun in part because the artist herself seemed to be having so much fun. Really, Carpenter should be commended, not criticized, for putting all of herself (including her sex appeal) to use in her art.

Boston University Shares Statement After Alex Cooper Accuses Ex-Coach of Harassment

Boston University has issued its first statement since Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper accused the school's former soccer coach of sexual harassment. The school did not address Cooper's claims directly in the statement sent to Rolling Stone. Rather, it said, 'Boston University has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment. We have a robust system of resources, support and staff dedicated to student wellbeing and a thorough reporting process through our Equal Opportunity Office.' More from Rolling Stone Alex Cooper Opened Up About Sexual Harassment Claims Because It's 'Still Actively Happening' How to Watch Alex Cooper's New Documentary 'Call Her Alex' Online Alex Cooper Accuses Former Soccer Coach of Sexual Harassment in New Documentary It continued: 'We encourage members of our community to report any concerns, and we remain committed to fostering a safe and secure campus environment for all.' Cooper spoke publicly for the first time about Feldman in her new documentary, Call Her Alex, alleging that her coach made her 'deeply uncomfortable' with verbal remarks and physical touch. Cooper said Feldman began to 'fixate' on her more than her teammates during her sophomore year, and claimed her encouragement on the field was couched in her 'wanting to know who I was dating, her making comments about my body, and her always wanting to be alone with me.' At the time, Cooper was on a full-tuition athletics scholarship at BU, and worried about the options available to her to address this alleged harassment. 'I didn't follow this woman's rules, I was gone,' she said, adding, 'Every time I tried to resist her, she would say, 'There could be consequences.'' Eventually, Cooper said she submitted written documentation about her interactions with Feldman to BU. The University, according to Cooper, said they would not fire Feldman, but allow Cooper to keep her scholarship even if she chose not to pally on the soccer team. 'No investigation. Within five minutes, they had entirely dismissed everything I had been through,' said Cooper, who did not play on the BU soccer team her senior year. Feldman has yet to release a statement regarding Cooper's claims. She retired from Boston University in 2022. On a recent episode of Call Her Daddy, Cooper said she didn't originally plan on speaking publicly about her allegations against Feldman, but chose to after learning that others had similar experiences. 'I discovered the abuse and trauma I had been subjected to at Boston University was still actively happening on that campus in 2025, a decade after I left,' she said, adding. 'It really put in perspective that the harassment and abuse of power was, and is, so much bigger than me. It is systemic and it's happening everywhere.' Kanye West Showed Up at Sean Combs' Trial

Kanye West showed up to Sean Combs' sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy trial in New York on Friday morning and walked through security with Combs' youngest son, Christian 'King' Combs. West was wearing an all-white denim ensemble and did not appear to have his wife, Bianca Censori, with him. He was also greeted by Charlucci Finney, Combs' close friend and self-proclaimed godbrother who has attended each day of the trial. He was not on the official list of Combs' close family and associates who get reserved seating in the main courtroom. It wasn't immediately clear if he was directed to the overflow room before he was spotted exiting the courthouse less than an hour later. West is one of the few remaining celebrities to voice strong support for Combs amid the music mogul's trial, now in its sixth week. West, who now goes by Ye, previously recorded a jail call with Combs and featured portions in his recent song, 'Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine.' 'This shit is wicked, wicked, wicked. So you be careful,' Combs said in video of the jail call obtained by The Shade Room. Combs thanked West for acting like a 'big brother father figure' to Christian while Combs was in custody. Combs described feeling like he was 'left for dead,' with 'only one person coming to do anything' to support him. 'I'm Puff Daddy in jail. This shit is fucking sad as a motherfucker,' Combs said. West's appearance at the courthouse in lower Manhattan followed a day after Combs' ex-girlfriend, identified as Victim-2 in his indictment, finished her six days on the witness stand. The woman, testifying under the pseudonym 'Jane,' claimed Combs busted down doors, punched her, and 'forced' her into a freak-off in June 2024. She said shortly after a male escort arrived to join them that night, Combs confronted her over a trip she took to Las Vegas in January 2024 with an unidentified rapper and his wife or girlfriend. Jane testified that during the trip, which was to celebrate the wife or girlfriend's birthday, she briefly ended up in a hotel with the couple and several other people, watching the same male escort having sex with a woman. 'How could you go to another man's freak-off?' Combs allegedly demanded as the escort waited in another room, according to Jane's testimony. The ex-girlfriend said she inadvertently ended up in the hotel room that night and only witnessed what was happening before leaving the birthday afterparty after about 20 minutes. Combs, 55, was arrested in September and has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering conspiracy. If convicted as charged, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. On Friday, jurors hear from two more witnesses, including a former assistant to Combs who was granted immunity before answering questions on the stand. Jonathan Perez testified that he worked for Combs between December 2021 and September 2024, when Combs was first arrested. Perez said his direct supervisor was Combs' former chief of staff, Kristina Khorram. He confirmed Combs was in a relationship with Jane during his tenure, calling her a 'companion.' Perez said part of his job was setting up hotel rooms for Combs' alleged freak-offs, which he knew as 'king nights.' Prosecutors showed him messages he exchanged with Khorram and another assistant. In one exchange, Perez said he was heading to a store to purchase something for Jane to wear. In another thread from May 2023, another assistant said they 'slipped & fell twice' while cleaning up a room after an alleged freak-off. Jane and Combs' former girlfriend Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura both previously testified that Combs wanted them drenched in baby oil during their marathon sex sessions with male escorts that Combs would stage-direct, videotape and watch while masturbating. In prior testimony Friday, a special agent with Homeland Security testified that 200 bottles of baby oil and 900 bottles of personal lubricant found in Combs's L.A. mansion during a raid last year.
