Fermanagh shooting: Police appeal for information regarding movements of vehicle
deaths of a woman and her children in Maguiresbridge
, Co Fermanagh, have appealed for more information regarding the movements of a vehicle.
The victims have been named as Vanessa Whyte (45), originally from Co Clare, and her son and daughter, James and Sara Rutledge.
Sara was 13 years old and James was 14, the
Police Service of Northern Ireland
(PSNI) said.
A fourth individual, an adult male, is in a serious condition in hospital in
Belfast
.

A murder investigation has been launched, and the
Police Service of Northern Ireland
(PSNI) said one line of inquiry was a triple murder and attempted suicide.
Detectives from the major investigation team, conducting the murder investigation following the shooting incident, are continuing with their enquiries.
On Saturday, the PSNI issued an appeal for information involving the movements of a vehicle.
'Our investigation is ongoing and we are working tirelessly to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy,' Detective Chief Inspector Neil McGuinness said.
'I would continue to appeal generally for anyone with information to come forward and more specifically I would ask anyone who saw a silver Mercedes saloon car being driven in the Clones Road area of Newtownbutler, or between Maguiresbridge and Newtownbutler, on the evening of Tuesday, July 22nd.'
Anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 276 23/07/25.
'Anyone who was travelling in the area and who may have captured dash-cam footage which could assist, please get in touch,' the PSNI said.
On Friday, hundreds of people attended a community vigil for the family.
The vigil was organised by a community group and held at Maguiresbridge Primary School, where James and Sara previously attended.
A book of condolence, set up next to a framed photo of the family and surrounded by white flowers and candles, was also opened at the school.
The deaths have caused widespread shock across the small Co Fermanagh community.
Flowers, teddy bears and an Arsenal football top with written notes have been laid close to scene of the incident in Drummeer Road.

Anger in court as man accused of causing teen's death in road tragedy gets bail
A man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of teenager Jaidyn Rice by dangerous driving. Jamie McCartney, 30, also faced charges of driving without a licence or insurance during his appearance at Newtownards Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Jaidyn, who was 16, died after being hit by a car on the West Circular Road in Bangor, Co Down, on July 8. McCartney appeared in the dock wearing a grey tracksuit and in handcuffs. He replied "yes" when asked if he understood the charges. A PSNI officer told the court he could connect the defendant to the charges. The officer opposed an application for bail, stating there were concerns for McCartney's safety and over the risk of reoffending. A defence lawyer said his client had been on police bail since the offence occurred before he was charged on Monday evening. Mourners carry the coffin of Jaidyn Rice at her funeral in St Andrew's Church in Bangor, Co Down The lawyer said the case would ultimately be dealt with in the Crown Court and his client would be remanded in custody for a significant time if he was not given court bail. District Judge Mark Hamill said: "I grasp what this case is about and it has to be dealt with in the Crown Court sooner rather than later, but in the meantime it is pretty difficult for me to remand him in custody. "I get the upset, but it is difficult for me to remand him in custody." He released McCartney on bail to appear again in court on August 26. Conditions include McCartney being barred from entering Bangor or from travelling in any private vehicle. The judge told McCartney: "This is court bail and you had better treat this with some respect because you can take it that the police are mustard-keen to revoke your bail." The judge also imposed a restriction on McCartney's address being reported. As McCartney was led from the dock there was some shouting from the public gallery. Belfast man missing for almost two weeks last seen in Paris airport

Robert Kincaid, from the Tullycarnet area, was due to arrive in Dublin on the evening of July 17, but never boarded his flight. The 38-year-old oil rig worker was returning from a stint working at a west African site in Benin and was set to board his connecting flight from Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris. Louis Kincaid, Robert's brother, said that he had also previously worked in central Africa. His last known point of contact is understood to have been a video call with a friend made from a bar in the airport. Louis told this newspaper: 'I think he was in the airport bar having a chat basically. As far as I'm aware, there was nothing bad said, there was nothing suspicious said. 'They were just having a bit of craic over the phone. 'He's a very sociable person, but he could have met someone in the airport bar — we just don't know.' The 38-year-old's last known point of contact was on July 17 A friend video-called Robert again, although a stranger answered the phone instead. 'It looked like [they were in] a tin corrugated roof building. They basically said the phone [battery] was on 0% in broken English,' Louis explained. The second and final call made to Robert's phone was picked up by a woman, but the caller was unable to make out what was said before the line was cut off and has been uncontactable ever since. Messages to Robert on WhatsApp and other social media are also no longer being delivered. Louis added: 'We're in the dark. We went through the PSNI. We went through the embassy — they've done a fantastic job. I have to give credit to the two girls who are working there now. 'We're trying to get some details, but there are a lot of restrictions with GDPR regarding missing people and it's just roadblocks.' After contacting the PSNI, Louis was directed towards the French authorities, but has found difficulty making contact from Northern Ireland. Louis and a family friend will fly to Paris on Wednesday to meet with British embassy officials who will help the pair liaise with local police. 'There's going to be someone meeting us. 'The Foreign Office has organised someone to meet us, it's someone in the airport,' said Louis. 'They're going to help us with translation, and we're going to file an official missing persons report in Paris, and then we're just going to be going about, putting posters all around places.' Louis added: 'He doesn't have any contacts in France, but he is a very sociable person, he would make friends with anyone.' He explained that his family is growing increasingly worried as time goes on. Louis said: 'They're holding together, it's just the unknown. 'Mum's not really sleeping at the moment. Funeral arrangements for wife and two kids killed in Fermanagh after husband dies

It follows the death of the only suspect in the murder investigation into the fatal shootings at a property in the Drummeer Road in Maguiresbridge on Wednesday morning. Ian Rutledge (42) passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast as a result of gun wounds. In a social media post, the funeral directors said Vanessa was a 'devoted mother, a loving and beloved daughter and sister and a loving and beloved daughter-in-law and sister-in-law'. It adds that James was a "much-loved son, brother, and grandson" and Sara "was a dearly loved daughter, sister, and granddaughter". A PSNI statement issued on Monday evening said: 'The Police Service of Northern Ireland has confirmed that a fourth person has now died following a shooting incident in Maguiresbridge.' The statement added: 'Ian Rutledge was taken to hospital on Wednesday 23 July, where he remained in a serious condition. He passed away this evening, 28 July.' Detectives have reiterated their appeal for anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward. Sources had previously said Rutledge had been experiencing depression and that his vision was deteriorating due to an underlying illness. It is understood that Rutledge had returned to live at the family home in Maguiresbridge, having previously moved out following the end of a relationship several years earlier. It is understood the 999 emergency call from the Drummeer Road residence on Wednesday morning was made from the phone of 13-year-old Sara. Police have not yet confirmed who made the call, as the line remained silent during the emergency communication shortly before 8am. However, the call handler was able to hear activity in the background, prompting the alert. Attempts to return the call went unanswered. Emergency services arrived at the house shortly before 8.30am. Police described the scene inside the house as 'harrowing'. A vigil was held for the three deceased family members on Friday, at Maguiresbridge Primary School, which James and Sara were both previous pupils of. A special prayer service also took place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Barefield, Co Clare – Ms Whyte's home village - on Sunday evening at 7pm. Books of condolences have been opened at both the church and at Maguiresbridge Primary School. Earlier on Sunday, a minute's silence was held for Vanessa, Sara and James, just moments before throw-in at the All Ireland senior football final between the Donegal and Kerry men's teams. Text on the screen at Croke Park read: 'Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha' – which translates from Irish into English as: 'May their souls be seated on God's right hand.' It is understood the agricultural contractor is the only suspect in the shooting of his family. Last week, police had said a triple murder and attempted suicide was a line of inquiry.
