BRS to fight for the rights of employees
HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Saturday announced plans to launch a coordinated campaign to pressure the Congress government into addressing long-pending demands of state employees.
A strategy meeting, held at the residence of former minister T Harish Rao and led by BRS working president K T Rama Rao, brought together former leaders of employees' associations, retired officials, and representatives of various teachers' and employees' unions.
During the meeting, Rama Rao and Harish Rao held discussions with former union leaders and ministers, including MLCs Srinivas Goud, Swamy Goud, Deviprasad, and others. The agenda focused on key issues such as pending Dearness Allowances (DAs), implementation of Pay Revision Commission (PRC) recommendations, release of retirement benefits, and other employee concerns.
Expressing deep concern over the state government's inaction, Rama Rao and Harish Rao stated, 'It is our duty as the principal opposition to stand by government employees. We will not remain silent while lakhs of employees suffer due to a negligent government.'
The BRS leadership emphasised the need to formulate a clear action plan in the coming days. The party also extended its support to active employees' union leaders and encouraged former union heads — particularly those who played a significant role in the Telangana statehood movement — to participate in this renewed effort.
'BRS has always upheld the rights and aspirations of government employees. We are committed to working alongside them and applying pressure on the government to ensure justice,' the leaders affirmed.
The party is expected to unveil a detailed action strategy soon and rally support from employees' associations across the state.

Shivakumar, who had returned from Delhi after visiting Delhi Muncipal Corporation regarding Muncipal Governance and Solid Waste Management along with Officers of Greater Benagluru Authority (GBA), is heading back to Delhi, according to his office. Shivakumar is also the state Congress President. The stampede occurred on June 4 evening in front of the Chinnaswamy stadium here, where a large number of people thronged to participate in the RCB team's IPL victory celebrations. Eleven people died and 56 were injured in the incident. Siddaramaiah had on Sunday denied reports that the Congress high command had sought information from him regarding the stampede incident. According to sources, the four names recommended to the Governor for nominations to the Legislative Council, but reportedly withheld after directions from the party high command, is also likely to come up for discussions.

Harish, KTR tip KCR on KLIS probe at farmhouse huddle
Hyderabad: Senior leaders of Bharat Rashtra Samithi, including party's working president KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao,went to the farmhouse of BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday to apprise him of the observations made during proceedings of the ongoing inquiry by the PC Ghose Commission. The BRS chief KCR is slated to appear before the Kaleshwaram Commission on Wednesday. Before appearing before the panel, the BRS chief is likely to visit the party office Telangana Bhavan and hold discussions with senior leaders of the party and take along with him documents that may have to be submitted to the Commission. On Monday, immediately after appearing before the Commission at the BRKR Bhavan, Harish Rao, along with KTR, visited the farmhouse of KCR at Eravelli. According to sources, the BRS leaders briefed KCR about the outcome of the proceedings till date. Harish Rao shared what the commission had stressed during the questioning. Harish informed KCR that the Commission sought to know why the project site had to be shifted from Tummidihetti to Medigadda and that his response was that the Maharashtra government was not giving approval because of the submergence of many villages. He also stressed that it was the Central Water Commission (CWC) which had suggested exploring alternative sites in view of the lack of availability of water. Further, Harish Rao told the BRS chief that the Commission had asked for changing the reservoir locations of Sundilla and Annaram. He said that while the Congress leaders were terming the project as 'Kuleshwaram', the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had laid foundation stone for the Gandamalla project, which is dependent on water from the Mallannasagar project, a key component of Kaleshwaram. He said, 'Kaleshwaram is and will remain Telangana's lifeline. The people of Telangana understand its importance. No statement to the Commission was made orally without proof. All submissions, including Cabinet decisions, Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited(WAPCOS) reports, and CWC letters, were placed on record.' The BRS leaders opined that Kaleshwaram was a collective decision of the cabinet and not that of any individual alone. After EatalaRajender and Harish, now it will be the turn of KCR to make his submissions. It will be interesting to see what questions the Commission would direct to the BRS chief on Wednesday. Party leaders said that KCR knew every minute detail of the project as he had reviewed its progress day in day out, including through footage from CCTVs.

KTR tears into BJP, Cong over ‘distorting facts' on KLIP
Hyderabad: The BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Monday launched a blistering attack on the BJP and Congress, accusing them of jointly conspiring to malign BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao by distorting facts about the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. The BRS leader said, 'Both BJP and Congress are working with a single objective to irritate KCR garu. Their agenda is not governance but vendetta.' He clarified that the Kaleshwaram project was not the decision of an individual, but a unanimous policy decision taken by the Telangana Cabinet at that time. 'Even former ministers like Eatala Rajender and Harish Rao have reiterated that this was a government-approved, cabinet-sanctioned project. The implementation was carried out by the administration, not individuals. There is absolutely nothing to hide. Everything was done with utmost transparency,' he said. Rama Rao urged people to watch the detailed presentation made by senior BRS leader Harish Rao. 'If anyone watched Harish Rao's explanation, they would understand the project's depth and benefits. Harish explained it as clearly as peeling a banana. It was that simple and detailed,' KTR said. The BRS working president said, 'If a leader in another country had completed a project of this scale bringing irrigation to 45 lakh acres in just four years, they would have been immortalised in their national history. That leader would have been celebrated with global honours. Sadly, in our country, such a historic project has become a tool for political mudslinging,' he said. KTR denounced the issuance of notices by investigation bodies as politically motivated harassment. 'These notices are simply attempts to irritate and distract us. We have already stated everything that needs to be said. Today, Harish Rao presented all the facts before the commission in full detail. Commision has nothing new to ask for KCR. Everything that needed to be said has already been said,' KTR declared. KCR achieved in four years what Congress couldn't in decades. Drawing comparisons, KTR noted that while Congress governments took decades to construct major projects like Bhakra Nangal, Nagarjuna Sagar, Narmada, and SRSP, KCR completed Kaleshwaram in record time. Criticising the Congress regime under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR said, 'They came to power by making 420 fake promises, only to betray the public. This government is leading the state down a dangerous, destructive path.' He further accused Revanth Reddy of using media manipulation to mislead the public. 'This media-management trickery cannot cover up their incompetence forever,' he added.
