Maruti Suzuki, DPIIT join hands to boost startup innovation in auto, mobility space

Maruti Suzuki India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), which is part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to support and foster startups in the areas of automotive production and mobility innovation. The partnership follows the path to create a stronger technology ecosystem in India's auto sector.
The MoU complements the Government of India's 'Startup India' programme via which DPIIT-recognised startups would now be able to engage with Maruti Suzuki's innovation programmes.

The intention is to support the creation of scalable, technology-led solutions in the automotive and mobility sector. Startups will benefit from industry-specific mentorship, business insights, and validation of their ideas through Maruti Suzuki's infrastructure and operational testbeds as part of this collaboration.

Maruti Suzuki already runs a portfolio of startup engagement initiatives such as its Accelerator, Incubation, Mobility Challenge, and Nurture programs. Over the past six years, more than 5,220 startups have been screened by the company, out of which around 150 were actively engaged. Twenty-eight of those have eventually become partners, contributing to business outcomes.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of several key representatives from both sides, including Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Anjali Bansal, Independent Director, Maruti Suzuki and executives from Maruti Suzuki's corporate and digital enterprise teams such as Sunil Kakkar, Rahul Bharti and Dr. Tapan Sahoo.
Commenting on the partnership, Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, stated that this initiative will help support promising startups as they build innovative automotive and mobility solutions. He emphasized the company's ongoing commitment to both 'Startup India' and 'Make in India' through strategic industry collaboration.
DPIIT's vision for startup growth
Representing the DPIIT, Joint Secretary Sanjiv said the collaboration with Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen India's leadership in next-generation industrial innovation. He noted that Maruti Suzuki's scale and legacy in the automotive industry could offer significant value to startups trying to commercialize early-stage ideas.

Seconding such views, Md. Alam Ansari, Startup India Deputy Director, emphasized the need to arm startups with the capabilities and institutional support required to scale up in-country and abroad.

PNN New Delhi [India], July 30: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has partnered with Clockwork Media Private Limited, the parent company of TICE News, to enhance media access and visibility for startups across India. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi, signaling a strategic collaboration to empower over 1.8 lakh DPIIT-registered startups, especially those operating in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Sumeet Jarangal, Director at Startup India, and Manoj Sing, Founder and Editor of TICE News, signed the MoU, which seeks to address a longstanding gap in media, branding, and outreach services for early-stage startups. TICE to Deliver Affordable PR and Branding Solutions for Startups Through this partnership, TICE will offer free media coverage and affordable PR, branding, and video production services to startups that often struggle to gain visibility due to limited resources. These solutions aim to help founders amplify their brand, connect with investors and markets, and navigate policy frameworks more effectively. Speaking at the signing, Sumeet Jarangal said, "This MoU will give new wings to Indian startups by enhancing their visibility and access to growth opportunities. TICE will bridge a critical gap by offering cost-effective media and branding support, particularly for early-stage startups in smaller cities. This partnership will also help bring to light the inspiring journeys of over 1.8 lakh Startup India beneficiaries, encouraging a stronger entrepreneurial culture across the country." Key Initiatives Under the DPIIT-TICE Collaboration As part of its engagement, TICE TV will launch several unique initiatives to promote innovation and inclusion in the startup ecosystem: - Entrepreneur Generated Content (EGC) Program - A platform that allows startups to create and share their own stories through video, blogs, and interviews. - Incredible Incubators of India - A content series that highlights the role of incubators in nurturing startups across the country. - Shepreneur Shakti - A platform dedicated to showcasing women-led startups and entrepreneurs making an impact. - Aavishkari Entrepreneur Series - A spotlight on startups in emerging sectors like DeepTech, CleanTech, AI, and Manufacturing. - Startup Club of India - A policy and ecosystem-focused initiative to engage stakeholders, curate events, and foster dialogue between state and central agencies. Expanding Reach and Ecosystem Engagement TICE has also launched a Hindi section (Startup Bharat) on its website to expand access and inclusivity for regional startups. The platform plans to host curated startup events, workshops, and policy discussions in collaboration with state governments and industry stakeholders, aligning efforts between central and state startup initiatives. Bank of India gains after Q1 PAT jumps 32% YoY to Rs 2,252 cr

Bank of India added 2.99% to Rs 115.50 after the company's standalone net profit climbed 32.3% to Rs 2,252.12 crore on 12.5% increase in total income to Rs 20,518.29 crore in Q1 FY26 over Q1 FY25. Profit before tax (PBT) jumped 22.2% to Rs 2,913.30 crore in Q1 FY26. Operating profit grew 9% YoY to Rs 4,009 crore during June quarter 2025. Global net interest income (NII) fell 3% to Rs 6,068 crore in Q1 FY26, compared with Rs 6,275 crore in Q1 FY25. Global net interest margin (NIM) slipped to 2.55% in Q1 FY26, compared with 3.07% in Q1 FY25. In Q1 FY26, the bank's deposits grew by 9.07% YoY to Rs 8,33,698 crore, domestic deposits rose 9.62% YoY to Rs 7,10,277 crore. CASA deposits grew by 2.50% YoY to Rs 2,81,846 crore in Q1 FY26 and CASA ratio stood at 39.88% as on 30th June, 2025 compared with 42.68 in Q1 FY24. Global advances jumped 12.02% YoY to Rs 6,72,444 crore as on 30th June 2025 compared with Rs 6,00,264 crore as on 30th June 2024. Domestic advances grew by 11.24% YoY to Rs 5,65,297 crore as on 30th June 2025. Gross NPA were at 2.92% as on 30th June 2025, as against 4.62% as on 30th June 2024. Gross NPA stood at Rs 19,640 crore as on 30th June 2025 as against Rs 27,716 crore as on 30th June 2024. Net NPA stood at Rs 4,950 crore as on 30th June 2025 compared with Rs 5,702 crore as on 30th June 2024. Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) as at the end of Q1FY26 stood at 17.39%. Tier 1 CRAR stood at 15.15% while CET -1 ratio stood at 14.52% in Q1 FY26. Bank of India is a public sector bank. The Government of India held a 73.38% stake in the bank as of 30th June 2025.
