‘The Masked Singer' Reveals Identity of Nessy: Here Is the Celebrity Under the Costume
Well, I'll be. Edwin McCain, the singer/songwriter behind the 1990s hit song 'I'll Be,' was the latest celebrity to be revealed on Season 13 of Fox's 'The Masked Singer.' On the show's Wednesday episode, Lawrence was unmasked as Nessy after performing 'Million Reasons,' by Lady Gaga.

'Honestly, I've done so many different things in my career, like we've landed on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Korea and played for the sailors on board,' he told Variety of why he did the show. 'We've been to Djibouti, Africa and Bahrain, and we've played every state in the US, except for Alaska. If life be an adventure, this certainly falls in that category. I was like, of course, I'll do that.'
Of course, the biggest challenge was moving around in that Nessy costume. 'It was about 10,000 degrees in there, but they gave me a vest that had ice packs all over it, which made it made it doable,' he said. 'All the staff, all the costumers, and everybody that will work on the on the program were absolute aces. It was way more comfortable than playing a festival gig in Alabama in August.'
Most of the songs he performed, like *NSYNC's 'Tearin' Up My Heart,' were new to him. But maybe he'll now add them to his setlist on tour. 'I might sing that Lady Gaga song,' he said. 'That's a really great song.'
For Nessy, Robin Thicke got it right with Edwin McCain. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed Johnny Rzeznik from Goo Goo Dolls. Rita Ora named Dave Matthews. Ken Jeong went with John Popper from Blues Traveler.
'I didn't figure Robin would know anything about me, honestly,' McCain said. 'To be fair. he is a student of music, so he does know. And obviously, being in the position he's in, he's heard a lot of stuff over the years. I was trying to sing each song sort of specific to however the song would be best served. So it was different every time. So, yeah, it was pretty impressive he got it, he figured it out.'
McCain recently released the new album 'Lucky,' his 11th solo release and first collection of new music since 2011. He'll hit the road in August and September, joining Train on a U.S. tour. Beyond music, McCain's credits include the Animal Planet series 'Flippin' Ships' and the SiriusXM radio show 'Inside Music with Edwin McCain.'

'Soundtrack of My Life Night' brought together the final five contestants standing: Group A's Coral, Group B's Pearl and Boogie Woogie and Group C's Mad Scientist Monster and Nessy. The episode opened with the group singing 'More Than a Feeling,' by Boston.
Back for Season 13 are host Nick Cannon, alongside panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Rita Ora and Robin Thicke. Ora was at the desk for a third consecutive season to fill in for Nicole Scherzinger.
New this season, a mysterious masked character dubbed 'Detective Lucky Duck' will appear throughout the season to give clues and help the panelists 'quack' the case of who's under the masks. At the start of this week's episode, he said he uncovered something 'explosive' about one of the masks. 'Turns out, they've stolen something very valuable from you, Robin.'
Also new: The 'Crack the Case' clue cases, in which more clues are shared about the eliminated contestant. For Nessy, the clue was a Celtic knot. 'It symbolizes internal love, which is something that heavily influenced my career.'
Meanwhile, back is the Golden Ear trophy is back in play for the panelists (whomever has the most correct guesses this season will win).
'The Masked Singer' Season 13 themed episodes include a tribute to franchises 'Shrek' and 'Ghostbusters,' as well as the Grand Ole Opry as it hits its 100th anniversary. Also on tap are a tribute to the Rat Pack and themes such as 'Voices of Olympus: Unmasking of the Gods,' 'Carnival,' 'Boy Bands,' 'Decades,' 'Lucky 6,' a 'Clash of the Masks' and the return of 'Soundtrack of My Life.'
Masked contestants in Season 13 include Honey Pot, Space Ranger, Cherry Blossom, Coral, Fuzzy Peas, Ant, Paparazzo, Griffin, Boogie Woogie, Pearl, Bat, Yorkie, Stud Muffin, Nessy and Mad Scientist Monster.

Porter explained that years later, he was filming Speed Racer in Berlin when Timberlake was playing a concert there. The actor recalled Timberlake recognizing him backstage at the concert, but not from Friday Night Lights. 'He [Timberlake] goes, you're the beatboxer that I beatboxed with on that boat to that floating stage in Florida.' I don't know how Justin Timberlake even remembered that, but he did, and that was pretty cool,' Porter shared. It was quite the trip down memory lane for Porter and his fans, too. Some of his fans, though, were more shocked by his VoicePlay news than the Timberlake story. Alex Rodriguez has bittersweet reaction to Pete Rose's Hall of Fame eligibility
Pete Rose may finally be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2028. December 2027 is the first time MLB's all-time hits leader will officially be considered for a plaque in Cooperstown after Major League Baseball announced last month that those on the game's ineligible list are taken off after they die. The Hall ruled in 1991 that it would follow MLB's ineligible list and not consider anyone on it. Now that Rose is off, he is eligible for induction through the Hall's Classic Era Committee, which does not meet for another 2½ years. If and when Rose gets in, he will not be there to celebrate it. He died in September at the age of 83. For Alex Rodriguez, who has a compelling Cooperstown case of his own, it's bittersweet. "It makes me happy and sad at the same time because Pete was such a friend, and I know that his heart ached a lot because he wasn't in," Rodriguez, who worked with Rose at FOX, said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital. "I wish more than anything that that could have been done while he was alive. "You know, I always say that eulogies should be done when you're living, not when you're dead, because some of the nicest things about people are never heard by the principal. But, you know, hopefully his family enjoys it, and I know that he's somewhere watching it. And I hope that he's happy and proud. We are, certainly." The former New York Yankees star, though, isn't focused on whether the argument for Rose would eventually help his own cause, considering his performance-enhancing drug involvement. "It's not my argument to fight. I'm just trying to do the best I can with my life and the back nine of my life and trying to do things the right way. I've learned from my mistakes. I've moved on. I hope to get in one day, but, again, I think I'll let other people fight that fight for me," he said. Rose admitted to gambling in 2004 after years of claiming his innocence. He died in September and predicted 10 days before his death he would not make the Hall of Fame until after he died, if at all. It was determined that Rose gambled on the Reds, only to win, while he was both a manager and a player. It was reported more recently, though, that Rose also gambled on baseball before he became a manager. He was ruled ineligible in 1989 and was never reinstated while he was alive despite numerous attempts. HBO's ‘Harry Potter' series reportedly casts Harry, Ron, Hermione
The spell has been cast, and so too have Harry, Ron and Hermione in HBO's new 'Harry Potter' series. Dominic McLaughlin will sport the lightning bolt scar as the titular chosen wizard, while Arabella Stanton — who recently starred as Matilda in the West End's production of 'Matilda: The Musical' — and Alastair Stout will round out the trio as Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, Variety reports. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were the first actors to play the magical roles, across eight films from 2001 to 2011. 'The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen,' showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director-executive producer Mark Mylod said in a statement to the outlet. 'We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned.' Variety reports that over 30,000 hopefuls tossed their sorting hats in the ring since the fall. Also recently announced were the castings of John Lithgow as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The Hollywood Reporter first broke news of the show, based on J.K. Rowling's hit children's fantasy books, in early 2021. The show is expected to debut next year, with filming slated for this summer. The network has already promised 'a faithful adaptation of the beloved 'Harry Potter' books.' In April 2023, Bloomberg reported that Warner Bros. Discovery was 'close to a deal' enabling them to adapt each of the seven books for the small screen.
