MPD: Suspect targets multiple businesses, causes costly damages to AC units
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Midland Police Department has once again asked for help from the community to identify a suspect accused of targeting multiple businesses and causing costly damages.
The MPD said it's investigating more than 20 similar cases and adding to that case load each week, but the investigation began in late April when the unknown suspect in the video above was caught on camera at Lone Star Heating and Cooling, located at 3216 Commerical Drive. Investigators said the suspect approached AC units outside the business and stripped the copper off of four units, which damaged the units to the tune of $10,000.
'We believe it is primarily one individual,' said Lieutenant Jason Lee at a news conference Monday.
MPD said they think it's the same suspect who has hit multiple businesses in industrial areas of Midland and has been damaging AC units for profit.
'We believe it's the copper, the high resale and salvage value,' Lee said.
Stripping the coils and copper wire has rendered the AC units in these cases inoperable and is costly to fix. Two units damaged at Sustaita Services cost about $5,000 to repair, a Midland Crime Stoppers spokesperson said.
Anyone with information about the suspect has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 432-694-TIPS and reference case number 250416302 or 250408300. You may also submit your anonymous tip online or by using the P3 TIPS mobile app. If your tip leads to an arrest, it could be worth a $1,000 reward.
Until the suspect is identified and arrested, the MPD offered some tips to help protect your unit, whether at your home or business.

"The presidential office left in complete chaos," reads part of a Korean-language X post shared on June 4, 2025. It features a screenshot of what appears to be another post sharing a panorama image of an empty office space. The post was shared shortly after South Korea's newly elected President Lee Jae-myung said the presidential office in Seoul's Yongsan district "feels like a tomb" during his first press conference (archived here and here). "There's no one here. Not even staff to provide writing tools. No computers. No printers. It's absolutely ridiculous," he said. The next day, Lee's Democratic Party accused the administration of his impeached predecessor Yoon Suk Yeol of sabotaging the transition of power, describing the compound as a "crime scene" that had been "cleared out to destroy evidence" (archived link). Yoon is on trial on charges of insurrection over his botched declaration of martial law, which saw him impeached, and faces the death penalty or life imprisonment if convicted. The same image was also shared in similar posts on South Korean online forums Ppomppu, Mimint, Wassada and "They aren't even humans," read a comment on one of the posts, while another said: "Truly, truly despicable. They should all be prosecuted." But neither Lee's office nor the Democratic Party have released any official photos of the presidential office in Yongsan before his administration moved in. Moreover, the circulating photo has been online since at least 2009. A reverse image search on Google traced the picture to a post from February 27, 2009 on a South Korean forum (archived link). The post says the photo shows the office of Seoul-based Jaty Electronics, and claims the firm abruptly relocated to Incheon during a labour dispute with employees. "The owner fled overnight," claimed the poster, who said they were an employee. The reported labour dispute was also covered by local outlet News Cham, which published a photo of the same office from a slightly different angle, credited to the Korea Metal Workers Union (archived link). Filings with South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service, a securities regulator, show the company did move from its office in Seoul's Gwanak-gu district to Incheon's Namdong-gu district in the first quarter of 2009 (archived here and here).

Milwaukee street takeovers; support for new ordinance, $500 fine

FOX6 spoke with people who say the same takeover happens every year. They're calling on the city to be better prepared. What they're saying People hanging out of cars, burning tires, and a large police response. That was what the area of 14th and Burnham looked like during Sunday night's street takeover. "It's not fair for people who have to get up and go to work in the morning, or take their kids to school to be woken up at three in the morning, because some people decide to do donuts and set off firecrackers and shoot in the air," said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson. "They are dangerous. I witnessed a vehicle doing a donut in this intersection. People just feet away. He would have lost control of the car, someone else was burning out, they could have lost control of the car -- anyone could have gotten hurt," said Milwaukee Common Council President Jose Perez. "If people already know that this happens every year, why don't they prepare? Make the correct measurements for the closures on the street," added Garron. MPD: False carjacking report leads to two arrests
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A driver who claimed he was carjacked early Saturday morning was charged with making a false report after police determined he made up the story. Edwin Blandon Moren, 45, allegedly told officers that two men in a white sedan pulled him out of his Ford F-150 at Macon and Highland and drove off in the vehicle. He said they also took his cell phone, cash, and credit cards. Where did 100,000 registered vehicles go in Shelby County? The Ford pickup was spotted a couple of hours later in a parking lot on Summer Avenue, and police arrested a woman who jumped out of the vehicle and tried to run away. Investigators said Moreno later admitted he had picked up a woman on Summer and went to a motel with her. He said that while he was in the shower, she took his wallet and drove off in his truck. Adrienne Campbell, 26, was charged with theft of property and evading arrest and is being held on a $25,000 bond. Court records show Campbell was arrested twice in 2024 for similar crimes. MPD: Home burglarized while suspects were live on Facebook In one case, she was accused of stealing a car from a female friend, and in another case, from a man who had given her a ride.
