Gardaí concerned for wellbeing of missing man who may be driving silver car
Jason Kenna, aged 50, has been missing from Greystones, Co. Wicklow since Tuesday, July 29.
Jason is described as approximately five foot 10 inches in height, of slim build, with brown hair and brown eyes. He may be travelling in a silver Ford Focus bearing a 09-WW registration.
Both Gardaí and Jason's family are concerned for his welfare and have appealed for anyone with any information on his whereabouts to contact authorities.
A Garda spokesperson said: 'Gardaí are appealing for the public's assistance in locating 50-year-old Jason Kenna, who has been reported missing from Greystones, Co. Wicklow since Tuesday, 29 July.'
They added: 'Anyone with information regarding Jason's whereabouts is asked to contact Bray Garda Station on (01) 666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.'

High-ranking officer suspended from duty after long-running investigation into alleged sexual misconduct sees him appear at sitting of district court Figures show there are currently 94 members of the force suspended from duty A senior garda has been suspended from duty after appearing in court charged with a number of rape offences. He was arrested following a long-running investigation into alleged sexual offences led by specialist detectives. The garda, who has a legal right to anonymity due to the nature of the alleged offences, appeared before a sitting of a district court last month where he was formally charged. The senior garda faces three counts of rape against a female, which allegedly occurred on separate dates in the same year a number of years ago. The injured party in the case was known to him. One of the alleged offences is contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act, 1990. Court records state that the other two charges relate to offences contrary to Section 48 Offences Against the Person Act, 1861 and Section 2 of the Criminal Law (Rape) Act, 1981 as amended by section 21 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act, 1990. His first court appearance was last month and he was remanded on bail. The senior officer is expected to appear in court again later this year. The most recent figures available show that there are currently 94 members of An Garda Siochána suspended from duty. The figures, as of June 6, shows that these members have been suspended for a combined total of 89,534 days. They were released by Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan following a parliamentary question by Sinn Fein TD Carol Nolan. These suspensions relate to a wide range of issues including theft, disclosure of information and assaults. Over a third of suspensions also relate to sexual assaults, driving while under the influence, and domestic violence. A large number of incidents which have resulted in a member of An Garda Síochána being removed from duty have also occurred while they were off-duty. The Policing and Community Safety Authority heard in May that around 55 gardaí were at that time also on 'non-public facing duties'.

Former soldier who 'used his vehicle as a weapon' to ram motorist is jailed
A former member of the Defence Forces who 'used his vehicle as a weapon' and drove at another male has been jailed. Derek Donegan, 39, left his victim in fear that he was about to be killed in the horror incident that happened in north Louth in April 2021. At Dundalk Circuit Court, the ex-corporal pleaded guilty to endangerment on April 25, 2021 and was handed a two-and-a half year sentence. Judge Dara Hayes ordered him to serve an identical term after he admitted assaulting his partner causing her harm at a friend's house in Dublin in July last year. The court heard Donegan, of Hyde Park in Dundalk, Co Louth, who has 14 previous road traffic convictions, had an alcohol and cocaine problem. He has quit drink and drugs and has reconciled with his partner. The court previously heard that on Sunday, April 25, 2021, a Seat Leon was rear ended by a Ford Connect van driven by the defendant on the Ballymascanlon roundabout in Louth. Both vehicles pulled over and the drivers got out. Donegan apologised for driving too close but showed no concern about the damage. As the victim took photos of the damage and looked for insurance details, Donegan drove at him, hitting him with his van below the knees. The court heard the victim landed on the bonnet but was 'dumped' onto the road and feared for his life. Donegan sped off and the victim drove after him. When he pulled alongside, the thug rammed his car into a ditch. The victim asked bystanders to call gardai and was treated in hospital for cuts and back pain. In the other offence, he and his partner were leaving a friend's house in Erne Terrace in Dublin where they had drinks. An argument broke out and she told him to go back to Dundalk. However, he walked towards her and struck her in the face. She was treated at hospital for pain and shock. The woman then made a statement of withdrawal to gardai and said she and Donegan have reconciled. In sentencing, Judge Dara Hayes said: 'In the endangerment offence he used his vehicle as a weapon and sought to flee after he struck the injured party's car. 'An aggravating factor for the assault is that it was inter-partner violence and Section 40 of the Domestic Violence Act states to take specific account of that and a higher sentence is required than otherwise. He imposed a total of four and a half years for both offences with the final 18 months suspended and banned Donegan from driving for five years. Man accused of deliberately trying to injure ex-partner in M1 crash is jailed
A former bus driver whose ex partner believed he had driven into the back of a lorry on the M1 to kill her - has been jailed four years. Dubliner Anthony Smyth, 55, of Orchard Villas, Newry, Co Down, admitted dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm on the M1 at Feede, Dundalk on May 18, 2023. A second count of endangerment is being taken into consideration. At Dundalk Circuit Court, Judge Dara Hayes said: 'He used his car as a weapon against his ex-partner and he could have killed them both.' The court heard Smyth's ex-partner of 32 years believed Smyth was bringing her to a hospital in Newry. However, between Junctions 19 and 20, the Audi was travelling at between 160kph and 175kph in a 120kph zone and skirting between two lanes before it crashed into a flatbed trailer. Smyth claimed he had dropped a lit cigarette in the footwell and had bent down to pick it up. The judge said: 'To do that at speed is dangerous.' He added there was a wide hard shoulder available to stop. In a victim impact statement, Smyth's ex-partner said she spent three days in hospital with physical injuries and suffers psychological injuries including nightmares, becomes irritable and emotional and that she has 'been given a sentence with no end'.
