Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Reportedly ‘Over' as Her ‘Deep Frustration' Caused ‘Tension' in Their Relationship
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may never walk down the aisle. The couple, who started dating in January 2016, got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019. However, more than six years later, they still haven't set a wedding date, and that day may never come. 'They have been spending more and more time apart,' a source told Us Weekly in June 2025. 'They've grown apart and aren't living the same lives anymore.' Another insider noted that Perry and Bloom's relationship issues aren't news to those around them. 'It's an unspoken thing that they are having issues and have for a while now,' the source said. 'Everyone around them knows.' Related: See Katy Perry's full dating history While Perry and Bloom's inner circles are aware of their relationship problems, the second source claimed that Bloom is still trying to keep their issues 'close to the vest' as he's been 'out and about more often' without Perry. 'Katy has been very busy working, and they are apart often,' the insider said. 'That has caused tension.' Another source of tension has been Perry's procrastination in setting a wedding date. '[They] never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything and Orlando is 'over it,'' the second insider said. A third source added, 'Things aren't good.' A source also told People in June 2025 that the negative reception of Perry's newest album, 143, which came out in September 2024, was also a source of 'tension' for the couple. 'Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,' the insider said. 'It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.' A second source also claimed that the reception of Perry's Lifetimes world tour, which she's currently on, also added 'stress' to their relationship.' She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It's put stress on their relationship,' the insider said. Despite reports that they're still trying to make their relationship work, a source told Page Six that the couple are just waiting for Perry's tour to be done to officially call it quits. 'It's over,' the insider said. 'They are waiting 'til her tour is over before they split.' Perry's Lifetimes world tour, which started in April 2025, it set to end on December 7. Before her relationship with Bloom, Perry was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012. Bloom, for his part, was married to model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013. The two share son Christopher Blanchard Copeland, who was born in 2011. Perry and Bloom welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020. While Perry and Bloom's relationship seems to be on the rocks, they still seem to be supporting each other by 'liking' each other's social media posts. Bloom also supported Perry when she traveled to space on the Blue Origin Rocket with an all-female crew, including Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez in April 2025. The studio on Wednesday dated the sequel for a Dec. 4, 2026 unwrapping. More from The Hollywood Reporter 'Street Fighter' Movie Removed From Calendar as Phoebe Dynevor Shark Thriller Moves Back a Year Phoebe Dynevor Shark Thriller From Tommy Wirkola Gets Title and Summer 2025 Release Tommy Wirkola on Going From Nazi Zombies in 'Dead Snow' to Singing Semen in 'Spermageddon' David Harbour is back as the icepick-stabbing, skate-slashing Santa Claus, who in the first movie was a bitter drunk headed towards turning back on the holiday until a little girl shows him the light. It's unclear if his lucidity will remain intact for the second outing. Also unclear is if the new story will include Mrs. Claus, briefly mention in the first movie. Universal is eying a September start of production in Winnipeg. Kelly McCormick and David Leitch of 87North are back as producers as are screenwriting team Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Violent Night proved to be a solid hit, gifting the studio a $50 million domestic haul on a budget of around $20 million. It took in an additional $25.9 million from international markets. Wirkola's previous credits include the Norwegian horror hit Dead Snow and relationship action comedy The Trip. In 2022, the filmmaker told The Hollywood Reporter he and the writers were already talking of a sequel that could incorporate ideas they couldn't fit into the first movie. 'We don't see the North Pole, we don't see Mrs. Claus and we don't see the elves,' Wirkola said. 'There were also a few ideas that we loved in the script, but we had to cut them because we couldn't afford to shoot them.' Wirkola is repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.
