Stunning DAZN TV host Diletta Leotta breaks silence after being accused of 'putting her a** in the face' of married ex-footballer colleague by his 'jealous' wife
The wife of former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has responded to the accusation she had 'put her a** in the face' of an old broadcasting colleague.
Television presenter Diletta Leotta has worked on the touchline as a host for DAZN's Serie A coverage in her native Italy.
Leotta married Karius in 2024 but was recently accused by her ex-colleague Federico Balzaretti's wife of 'putting her a** in his face'.
Balzaretti's wife, ballerina Eleonora Abbagnato, claimed a 'beautiful woman' with 'curves' had made her 'jealous' with the scandalous alleged act - without specifically naming Leotta.
Now later confirmed on Italian TV that her comments were targeted at Leotta - and that she has previously warned her over her behaviour.
'Yes, that woman was Diletta Leotta. I love my husband like the first day and I'm jealous,' Abbagnato told Storie di donne al bivio via Chi magazine.
'In Milan, some time ago, I happened to meet Leotta who, working at Dazn with Federico, seemed to have excessive familiarity with him.
'I immediately took off and introduced myself in a very formal way: 'Pleased to meet you, I'm his wife'.
'Diletta has those curves that I don't have, but it was the memes that were circulating on the web, depicting her and my husband in love, that drove me crazy.
'I respect my husband, I trust him, he loves me like when we met, but we are so good together also because I am very careful about anything that could alter our understanding.
'Between her and Federico there has never been anything other than work, but Diletta is an exuberant woman, sure of her charm and I wanted to make things clear immediately. The wife is me and that's it.'
Two weeks after Abbagnato's claim, Leotta has responded to her comments by declaring 'Malice is in the eyes of the beholder'.
'I have always worked with great professionalism and lightness, because lightness is also needed,' Leotta added to Striscia la notizia, a satirical Italian programme.
Leotta added that she would now invite both Abbagnato and Balzaretti to appear on her podcast.
Leotta responded to the accusation by saying 'malice is in the eyes of the beholder', before inviting both Abbagnato and Balzaretti to appear on her podcast
The 33-year-old married former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius in Sicily last summer
'This is how we create a beautiful network between women,' Leotta said.
'We must be empathetic and supportive of each other. They have a wonderful family: I can't wait to see them and do a nice interview.'
Leotta made the comments as she was presented with an eleventh Tapiro d'oro award. The award is handed out by the satirical programme to celebrities who suffer misfortune or an embarrassing episode in public.
Leotta remains a lynchpin of the channel's Serie A coverage, despite her husband - with whom she shares daughter Aria - playing for German side Schalke.
Karius admitted at his unveiling that his wife was less than happy with his choice of club after leaving Newcastle in 2024.
'Of course, she was hoping a little for Italy,' the shot-stopper said. 'I explained it to her. She wishes me the best in my career and said she is fully behind it.
'Milan is not far away. We can find ways to solve it. She has a lot to do too, so we will both be commuting back and forth a bit.
'If your partner is also in the public eye, it's clear that something will be reported. But I never actively pushed myself into it. For me, the sport was always the priority.'
Karius and Leotta married in June of last year in Sicily, with the TV presenter frequently sharing snapshots of their relationship on social media.

What does future hold for Robertson with Liverpool & Scotland?
International friendly: Scotland v IcelandVenue: Hampden Park, Glasgow Date: Friday, 6 June Kick-off: 19:45 BSTCoverage: Watch live on BBC One Scotland and BBC Sport website & app, online text updates, listen on BBC Radio Scotland You would forgive Andy Robertson for recoiling at the mere mention of the name Milos Scotland captain's position as Liverpool's first-choice left-back - a post he has had a stranglehold on for the past eight seasons - could be under duress if the Anfield club get a deal for Bournemouth's Hungary international over the legend Robertson is about to enter the final year of his contract at the age of 31, with many suggesting Kerkez could be a long-term replacement for the two-time Premier League champion and Champions League winner."We're not daft, it looks as if a deal could potentially be done," Robertson told BBC Scotland, when asked about the Kerkez rumours."But, until that is done, I've not even given that a second thought. I back myself, I've got confidence in my own ability and that drives me forward." He added: "I've had eight fantastic years at Liverpool in terms of winning trophies, being a mainstay in the team, which I'm incredibly proud of."I'm not getting any younger, I can't change my age, but I still believe I've got a lot to give and that's what I focus on. I focus on myself - you can't focus on other people or who you're competing with."I still believe I have a hell of a lot to give for however many years I can keep going. My body feels good at the minute. I can't tell you how I'll feel at 33 or 34, but I can tell you, at 31, I feel excellent."I've been fit for every game, I've not missed a training session and that's not a sign of someone who is slowing down."I've got a year left at Liverpool, I'm looking forward to a switch off, I'm looking forward to a holiday and then I'll look forward to pre-season. What the future holds after that? I've not given it too much thought." 'I've got years left with Scotland' In the meantime, Robertson is back with his international team-mates as they look to bounce back from their Nations League play-off defeat by Greece in friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein coming up prior to the World Cup qualifying campaign kicking off in the autumn, some might question whether the veteran might have been tempted to absent himself from these June despite being the wrong side of 30, Robertson's committment remains as fierce and he has no intention of following Celtic captain Callum McGregor's example of focusing solely on club football, with the two at the same age."I think every individual is different," he said. "I know, at the Euros, Callum was struggling and had a tougher season in terms of injuries and he made that decision."I think in Scotland he'll be on the training pitch earlier and will have Champions League qualifiers, so they perhaps don't get as much time off. "You have to make individual choices and Callum made his choice. That was best for his career and he's obviously prioritised trying to play for Celtic as long as he can. "All I can say is it's not crossed my mind as of yet and I hope it doesn't because I love playing for my country. "It's the biggest honour in football and I've done it 82 times now and I've still got that hunger to try and succeed and to try and help the young lads."There will be a point when the time comes, but I still believe I've got a good number of years left."Robertson's Scotland head coach, Steve Clarke, who lifted the Cup Winners' Cup as a 34-year-old at Chelsea in 1998, believes his captain will meet the challenge at club level and continue to lead his national team."If Andy decides to stay and fight for his place, I'm sure he'll play enough," he said. "He had to fight so hard to have a career and to build on that."I don't see a decline in him. I see him coming here and playing well and I've watched him a number of times for Liverpool and I didn't see any drop."Alex McLeish made a big decision when Andy was quite young and not long in the squad to make him the captain. When I came in, I saw no reason to change that captaincy and he's been a fantastic captain for Scotland."With Sir Kenny Dalglish's long-standing cap record just 20 appearances away, do not expect that to be a challenge that Robertson will shirk.
