Inmate escapes from Star Community Justice Center
Jacob Miller is 5-foot-11 and 229 pounds and is at Star for possession of drugs.
'The Star Community Justice Center reports that one of the residents of the center has escaped. Local law enforcement has been notified. The escapee is reportedly a male. If you should see a suspicious person in your area, please contact 911," the message stated.
Star Community Justice Center is a minimum-security community-based correctional facility that is run by the state of Ohio. Many of the inmates there have drug convictions.

Michigan man, 24, electrocuted, falls 30 feet from boom lift, police say
A 24-year-old Wayland, Michigan, man died after coming into contact with live electrical lines and falling 30 feet from a boom lift Saturday in Ludington, according to police. Ludington police responded to the area of West Ludington Avenue and Robert Street around 10:15 a.m. Saturday, for a report of a person being electrocuted and falling off a building. When officers arrived, they found the man unresponsive and not breathing. Ludington police, along with members of the Mason County Sheriff's Office and two bystanders, attempted lifesaving efforts until firefighters and paramedics arrived. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said. Police say the man was operating a boom lift when, for unknown reasons, the lift and the man came into contact with live electrical lines, causing the man to fall approximately 30 feet. The man was employed by a gutter installation company based in the Ada area, according to police, and they are investigating the incident as a fatal industrial accident. Fleeing suspect drives 7 miles the wrong way on Interstate 84, causes road closures
Multiple roads in the Boise area were blocked off after police attempted to apprehend a suspect who drove for miles on the wrong side of Interstate 84 before fleeing on foot. An Ada County Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to stop a truck at about 10 a.m. Sunday, near the South Seabreeze Way and West Lake Hazel Road intersection in Boise, the sheriff's office said in a news release Sunday afternoon. The sheriff's office said the 43-year-old driver had two active warrants out for failure to appear in court, as well as being connected to an aggravated battery reported last week. The driver refused to pull over, leading the deputy to pursue him along several roads, including Lake Hazel Road, North Orchard Street, West Victory Road, West Gowen Road and ultimately onto I-84, according to the release. Law enforcement said they called off the pursuit because of public safety concerns after the suspect began traveling the wrong way on the interstate, driving west in the eastbound lanes. 'Partnering agencies immediately shut down the eastbound lanes of the interstate,' the sheriff's office said in the release. '(The suspect) continued to drive on the wrong side of the interstate for approximately seven miles.' The suspect, Timothy Steinnon, then drove off I-84 and through a fence near Top Golf at the Eagle Road exit, before abandoning his vehicle near Rolling Hill Drive in Meridian. 'Initial information indicated Steinnon might be armed, prompting a CodeRed alert to residents nearby, advising them to shelter in place,' the sheriff's office said. Law enforcement found the suspect hiding in an outbuilding after the property owner called to report him. The sheriff's office said the Ada County SWAT and crisis negotiation teams responded and, 'after a period of negotiation, Steinnon exited the structure and was taken into custody without further incident.' The sheriff's office confirmed to the Statesman by email that this incident was the reason that the Boise Police Department asked drivers to avoid Overland Road west of Cloverdale Road for more than three hours. In addition to the warrants already out for his arrest, the suspect was arrested on felony charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and misdemeanors for unlawful entry and resisting and obstructing law enforcement. The sheriff's office said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Lacy Lakeview adopts ‘CodeRED' system
WACO, Texas (FOX 44) – The City of Lacy Lakeview has instituted a program called 'CodeRED.' This is an emergency notification system that helps police and fire departments easily alert people in the city. In the past, alerts would be posted to the Police Department's website and Facebook, where people would have to go out of their way to find the alert. CodeRED brings the alert to the public as a mobile notification – whether enlistees choose to receive them in email, text, or call format. The system can also help connect the community with the Police and Fire Department if there is a crime in the area, warning people to be on the lookout and making it easier for those with information to communicate with law enforcement. 'It does help significantly our dispatchers,' City of Lacy Lakeview Detective Tyler Ziegler said. 'Not only do they dispatch for police and fire and EMS here in the area, but they can also be taking phone calls after hours for City Hall if they're closed, and there's not a water person who is available to answer.' CodeRED also helps dispatchers when they receive calls from people needing alert clarification – taking up time that could be spent on the phone with someone in an emergency.
