Truck driver (20s) charged after two men found hiding in truck at Rosslare Europort
A truck driver has been charged after gardaí and customs officials found two men hiding in a truck at Rosslare Europort on Friday morning.
The man, in his 20s, is due to appear before a special sitting of Wexford District Court at 6pm this evening.

'Gardaí along with Customs and Revenue located the two males during an immigration check and they are being assessed by medical personnel,' a garda spokesperson said earlier.
Gardaí also said both men would be assessed by medical personnel.
'A male, aged in his 20s, the driver of the truck, was arrested by Gardaí for an alleged offence under the Section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Smuggling of Persons) Act 2021,' a Garda spokesperson said last night.
'He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the Wexford/ Wicklow Garda Division.
'Gardaí attached to Wexford Garda Station, supported by the Garda National Immigration Bureau, are investigating all of the circumstances of this incident.
'Anyone with any information in relation to this discovery is asked to contact Wexford Garda Station 053 9165200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 66 11 or any Garda Station,' the garda spokesperson said.

Therapists throughout Ireland plagued by men looking for 'happy endings'
A therapist revealed that men have plagued her company because they mistakenly think that they can get so-called 'happy endings'. The business owner claimed abuse of therapists is a national problem and has passed men's contact details to Gardaí and threatened to publicly shame them. Marie Byrne has now called out the men and branded their phone calls as 'harassment', 'misogyny' and 'utterly unacceptable'. She said she got seven messages in one day from men looking who asked about sexual services. One message asked: 'Can I ask is this purely massage only, or is there happy endings too? Apologies, I don't mean to be rude.' Marie went on radio to demand an end to calls with inappropriate requests to her holistic business, Glosna House in Wolfhill, Co Laois. She told station Midlands 103: 'We provide the largest range of support services under one roof in Ireland. I think it is the massages that probably [are the issue]. There is nothing remotely sexual offered here." After the Glosna House phone received a particularly vile message, I said, 'I've had enough, this is it'. I wrote a post on our Facebook and called it out. 'It is misogyny and I have a zero tolerance policy towards it. I am a woman and I have been in business my whole life and I have experienced misogyny in many different forms. We will not tolerate this. The men asked for happy endings and for photographs of the massage therapists and asking if there could be a relationship attached to the treatment. 'It's not just text messages or calls. Therapists work alone in a room with a client so that makes them vulnerable. They are about healing, so the fact that this is happening is just outrageous. Women are propositioned in treatment rooms. "We have received so many messages from therapists all round the country, saying that, because of the misogyny and abuse, they have taken the word 'massage' out of their listed services or only have female clients. Others are using their husbands to answer the phone calls. This has to stop, it is 2025. Why are women being treated like this?' Glosna House provides psychotherapy, services for children, neuro divergent screening, maternity services, couple's therapy and trauma counselling and it also offers holistic treatments like massages. Marie wrote on Facebook: 'Several times every week, men message us asking if we include sexual services in these services. Let me be absolutely clear: this is harassment, this is misogyny, this is utterly unacceptable. Women working as professional therapists should not have to put up with this degrading, sexist nonsense. 'Our work is about care, healing, and respect - not about fulfilling anyone's fantasies. To the men who send these messages: don't. You are not welcome at Glosna. There is zero tolerance for harassment.' She added: 'For those who think they can hide behind burner phones, fake accounts, or anonymous numbers, don't be so foolish. In 2025, tracing digital harassment is easier than you think. Gardaí investigate alleged fraudulent resale of Electric Picnic tickets
Gardaí are investigating the alleged fraudulent resale of Electric Picnic tickets reported in recent weeks and are warning people not to trust third-party sales for a sold-out event. The Electric Picnic arts and music festival is due to take place in Stradbally, Co Laois, next weekend. The festival is sold out, but reports have circulated on social media of people allegedly being scammed while attempting to purchase third-party tickets. 'It is important that people exert a great degree of caution if attempting to purchase tickets for a sold-out event through any third-party, known or otherwise,' a Garda press officer said. 'Do not trust that the tickets you believe you are purchasing are real. It is likely that they will not materialise and, in fact, do not exist.' Man arrested after threatening public with knife in Limerick town
A man has been arrested after threatening members of the public with a knife in a Limerick town. The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 9pm on Maiden Street in Newcastle West. No injuries were reported. "The male in his 30s was arrested and conveyed to Newcastle West Garda Station. He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984," a Garda spokesperson told the Irish Examiner. Investigations are ongoing.
