Cam Cannarella drives in four and Clemson rallies to defeat South Carolina Upstate 7-3
CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Cam Cannarella drove in four runs, Dominic Listi ignited the go-ahead rally in the eighth inning, and Clemson defeated South Carolina Upstate 7-3 on Friday night in the Clemson Regional.
In the eighth, Listi singled then stole second and third before scoring on a single by TP Wentworth for a 4-3 lead. Jack Crighton scored on a sacrifice bunt by Andrew Ciufo, then Cannarella belted a two-run home run to center field, making it 7-3.

Johnny Sweeney's home run leading off the second inning staked the Spartans to a 1-0 lead. Scott Newman doubled in the fourth inning and scored on a single by Gage Griggs to make it 2-0.
Upstate had the bases loaded with nobody out in the fifth, but Jacob McGovern came on in relief and ended the threat with two strikeouts and a flyout. He threw 3 1/3 innings and struck out six of the 11 batters he faced.
In the bottom of the inning, Cannarella doubled to score Ciufo and Wentworth to tie it. Cannarella later scored on a sacrifice fly by Collin Priest and Clemson led 3-2.
Newman's solo home run in the eighth tied it for USC Upstate.

No. 1 regional seed Clemson (45-16) will play No. 2 West Virginia in the winners bracket game on Saturday. No. 4 Upstate (36-24) will face No. 3 Kentucky in the loser-out. West Virginia defeated Kentucky 4-3 on Friday. ___

The ministry also shared photos from the tombs, which contained a number of artifacts and statues. According to The Associated Press, one of the tombs belonged to a man named Amum-em-Ipet, who worked in the estate of Amun during the Ramesside period. While much of Amum-em-Ipet's tomb has been destroyed over time, the archaeologists were able to recover depictions of his funeral furniture carriers and a banquet. The tomb also featured a small courtyard that led to an entrance, as well as a square hall ending in a compartment for the statesman's remains. The other two tombs dated back to the 18th Dynasty, per the AP. One belonged to a man named Baki, who worked as the supervisor of a grain silo. His tomb contained two separate courtyards and several halls, one of which led to an unfinished chamber that led to his burial area. The final tomb contained the remains of a man named 'ES,' who was a supervisor at the Temple of Amun in the oasis, a writer and the mayor of the northern oases. Dr. Mohammed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that further study of the tombs and inscriptions is currently underway in preparation for eventual scientific publication, per the official statement from the ministry. Sherif Fathy, Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, posted about the discovery on X, noting that it marks an addition to Egypt's rich archaeological records while also highlighting the fact that the discovery was made 'entirely by Egyptian hands.' The latest discovery comes on the heels of several major finds near Luxor in recent months. In January, researchers unearthed ancient decorative stones and burial shafts dating back 3,600 years at the causeway of Queen Hatshepsut's funerary temple on the Nile's West Bank. In February, a joint Egyptian-British archaeological mission found the nearly 3,500-year-old tomb of King Thutmose II, in what Fathy called "an extraordinary moment for Egyptology and the broader understanding of our shared human story" at the time. PARIS (AP) — Two fans died and a police officer is in a coma after mass nationwide celebrations for Paris Saint-Germain's historic Champions League victory, European soccer's biggest prize, French authorities said Sunday. A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the city of Dax during a PSG street party after Saturday night's final in Munich, the national police service said. A man was killed in Paris when his scooter was hit by a car during PSG celebrations, the interior minister's office said. The circumstances of both are being investigated. A police officer was hit accidentally by fireworks in Coutance in northwest France and placed in an artificial coma because of grave eye injuries, the national police service said. Hundreds of people were arrested in the celebrations, which were largely peaceful but degenerated into violence in some areas. The team is expected to return to a big parade on the Champs-Elysees on Sunday after clinching its first Champions League title, a 5-0 win over Inter Milan. Piastri and Norris to start Spanish GP from front row with Verstappen right behind
MONTMELO, Spain (AP) — Oscar Piastri will start the Spanish Grand Prix from pole position ahead of McLaren teammate Lando Norris on Sunday with the papaya-colored cars poised to continue their early dominance of the Formula 1 season. Defending F1 champion Max Verstappen will start from third and will be hard pressed to extend his winning streak at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to a fourth win in a row. Piastri leads Norris by three points at the top of the points standings after they won six of the eight races so far this year. Verstappen, who has won the other two races this year, is 25 points off Piastri's lead in his Red Bull. Mercedes' George Russell and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton will start fourth and fifth.
