As delightful as the recent warm weather has been, it can often result in dry, dull, or frizz-prone hair, reminiscent of Monica Geller in that episode of Friends (blame the humidity!) However, shoppers believe they've discovered the ultimate solution in a £17 'miracle oil' that pledges to 'control frizz for up to 96 hours'.
This comes as Wella Professionals have launched their brand new Ultimate Smooth range, designed to 'smooth and nourish the hair from the inside and out'. The four-step haircare system includes a shampoo, conditioner, mask, and its star product - the Miracle Oil Serum.
The leave-in treatment is crafted to control frizz for up to 96 hours, deliver 85% smoother hair, and protect against heat up to 230°C, as well as UV exposure. It's formulated with squalane and omega-9, skincare-inspired ingredients that help moisturise the hair cuticle while polishing the hair surface, creating a lightweight, protective barrier.

The versatile formula, which can be applied on damp or dry hair, is also vegan, and boasts a long-lasting, luxurious scent with citrus, floral, and amber notes. The oil serum is touted to deliver 'silk-like results', with customers praising it as the 'best ever' after it transformed their 'straw-like' locks, reports the Mirror.
Wella's new range has quickly gained a string of five-star reviews, thanks to its reputation for salon-quality products. One reviewer raved: "Great packaging, smells divine. If you thought your hair was smooth? Try this and will not regret it as hair becomes extra smooth, will smell fabulous. It becomes sleek and more manageable."

A smoothing haircare set designed to reduce the look of flyaways for a glossy finish.
A second reviewer, with very dry and frizzy hair, was equally impressed, saying: "I have the driest, frizziest hair possible, think straw, especially from mid length to ends. This was only delivered today, so I had to use it as soon as I got out of the shower, wow just wow. I don't think my hair has ever felt this soft, without question this is the best thing I have ever used, and trust me when I say I've spent a fortune on products over the years. I'm about to order another one, or maybe two, so I never run out."
However, a third reviewer found the Miracle Oil Serum slightly too heavy for their hair, especially by the end of the day, even when using less product. They commented: "I think this miracle oil serum is good, and it definitely helps calm down the frizz, however I feel it is a little too heavy for my hair and at the end of the day it feels a lot greasier than it would have done without the product. I have tried using a lesser amount, but the product then doesn't work as well. I would definitely recommend this but be prepared that you may need to wash your hair again the following day."
Some people are raving about the product, saying: "This really does do exactly what it says and smoothes my hair out in seconds. I love using this when I've styled my hair and also keep it in my handbag as an essential for any particularly frizzy days as this smooths instantly."

However, not all hair products suit everyone. If Wella's serum isn't right for your hair type, consider the Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil, now £19.55, down from £28 at Beauty Bay. This lightweight oil repairs damaged hair, adds shine, and controls frizz. As it's silicone-free, it's ideal for chemically treated or fine hair that needs repair without feeling heavy.
Another option is the L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Absolut Repair 10 in 1 Leave in Oil, designed for dry, damaged hair. This fast-absorbing oil uses wheat germ to deeply hydrate, boost shine, and reduce the appearance of split ends and flyaways. It's now £26.29 down from £29.10 at LookFantastic.
The Wella Miracle Oil Serum is also on sale, along with the rest of the range. The smaller 30ml bottle, perfect for trying the product, is now £17 down from £22, while the larger 100ml bottle is £35.60, 20% off the usual £44 price. The shampoo, conditioner and hair mask are also on offer, priced at £18.52, £20.60 and £24.20 respectively.

Boots announces two beauty advent calendars for 2025 – and the waitlists are open now
Even with the rise of dedicated shops like Sephora and Lookfantastic, every beauty obsessive has trodden the hallowed halls of the beauty aisles at Boots. Despite stiff competition, it remains a key retailer, and Boots' beauty advent calendars are no exception. That's right: this year, the high-street retailer has launched not one, but two Christmas countdowns: the 24 beauty stars luxury advent calendar (£150, and the 24 days of skin advent calendar (£70, There are already more than 15 beauty advent calendars on offer, and it's only August. While Boots is keeping some of the magic of Christmas alive with just a sneak peek at these new 24-day bundles, I can spy a few clues of what's to come. I predict Korean skincare, luxury Drunk Elephant moisturisers and more. Boots usually takes a more affordable approach to beauty advent calendars and, while high-end department stores like Liberty and Selfridges charge more than £250, Boots' 2025 calendar keeps things more accessibly aspirational with options at £70 and £150. Scroll on for everything I know so far, including full worth, a first look at the contents and how to join the waitlist. Boots 24 beauty stars luxury advent calendar: £150, The beauty stars calendar is Boots' main advent offering, with a whopping £600+ worth. The retailer is keeping the full 24 days secret for now, but after peering at the press shot, I've spied some gems. Included are Drunk Elephant's protini polypeptide cream (£21, Sol de Janeiro's 76 perfume mist (£24, the Laneige lip glowy balm (£17.50, and Iconic London's get cheeky face powder palette (£35, Interestingly, skincare obsessives will get their very own advent. If you have a penchant for fresh skin and make-up-free days, then you'll find what you're looking for in Boots' 24 days of skin offering. Again, the worth of this calendar exceeds four times the amount you'll pay and, in addition to the products above, I've spotted Round Lab's birch juice sunscreen (£18.90, and Anua's PDRN hyaluronic acid capsule serum (£18, as well as some impressive Korean skincare heroes.

Learn more The latest addition to the range is being described as 'summer in a bottle' (Image: REPLICA Maison Margiela) While some of us are gearing up for cosy season, not everyone is ready to kiss goodbye to summer. Maison Margiela's Replica range has launched Never Ending Summer for those who would rather be on the Amalfi Coast. It opens up bright with a combination of bitter orange, Aperol and pepper before settling into a heart of Earl Grey tea, cardamom and nutmeg. There's a woody turn in the base with a blend of vetiver, cedarwood, patchouli, vanilla, Peru balsam and cashmeran. It's bringing in comparisons to BVLGARI Eau Parfumée Thé Vert which retails at £114 for a 75ml bottle. For those looking for something with a similar vibe but a different price point (£30) Lush's Karma is a blend of orange, patchouli and wood. Although it's not pulled in any reviews on LookFantastic yet, over on SpaceNK it's got an average rating of 4.3 out of five. One shopper went as far as saying this is 'sunshine in scent form'. They wrote: "Summer in a bottle. Maison Margiela's Never Ending Summer Eau de Toilette is sunshine in scent form! It opens with a burst of citrus and warm, sun-kissed notes that instantly lift my mood. Light, fresh, and effortless, it lingers beautifully without being overpowering. It truly captures that carefree, golden-hour vibe. Perfect for daily wear or a summer getaway, this fragrance feels like a warm embrace from a perfect day." One shopper was a little underwhelmed by the longevity, saying: "Fantastic summertime perfume. It is very fresh and citrusy. I can really smell orange peel and green tea. Remind me little bit of Bvlgari Au the Vert. I absolutely love it. Shame it does not last longer. I would say 3 - 4 hours max. This is my first Replica so cant compare. But I can recommend it." Maison Margiela REPLICA Never Ending Summer Eau de Toilette 30ml The scent is inspired by the Amalfi Coast in the summer of 2022 It is worth noting that the application of a perfume can impact how long it lasts. It's best to apply perfume to clean and freshly moisturised skin, but sometimes it lasts longer on clothing too so it could be a good idea to apply it to both. Another wrote: "I wore Maison Margiela Never Ending Summer Eau de Toilette for my wedding, and it was perfect — light, uplifting, and beautifully fresh. I got so many compliments throughout the day! It lasts really well for an eau de toilette, and it truly captured the joyful, sunny vibe I wanted. A gorgeous scent I'll always associate with special memories. Worth every penny." Never Ending Summer is available from £62 at LookFantastic.

Shoppers can get it as part of the LookFantastic set with two other products for £38. Other skincare sets currently reduced include the Vichy Mineral Daily Hydration Icons Set which has been cut from £29 to just under £15 at Boots. One shopper said: "Full on hydration in a box! My skin looks and feels brighter, however you really do need to let the serums soak in before using your moisturiser as it can mix and go a bit flakey." Despite this, another shopper noted how good the set was for mature skin, writing: "I'm in my 60s and love this L'Oréal gift set. Each item does what it says and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and gorgeously hydrated. Can't go wrong with this." Hands down great purchase and will definitely recommend and buy again."
