Mbappe Out of Second Real Madrid Club World Cup Clash
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe will not be risked for the team's Club World Cup match against Pachuca, a club source said yesterday.
Mbappe suffered a minor muscle strain in training and was held out of the team's last 3-0 win.
The 25-year-old will now target a comeback next weekend if Real Madrid advances to the final.
Madrid top Group A in the European Conference with six points and will play either LA Galaxy or Al Ittihad in a semifinal in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Mbappe's form has been strong, with 41 goals in all competitions, but Madrid officials said they didn't want to 'gamble' on his fitness for a non-league or major trophy.

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has agreed to join Everton on loan for the 2025-26 season, according to reports yesterday. If Grealish passes a medical and completes his move to Everton, the winger will have achance to revive his spluttering career and potentially earn a recall to the England squad ahead of next year's World Cup.

Jobe Bellingham ‘anxious' about following brother Jude at Dortmund
Jobe Bellingham admitted on Tuesday to having 'anxieties' on following in brother Jude's footsteps after joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Jobe, 19, is two years younger than Jude, who joined Real Madrid in 2023 after three years at Dortmund. Jobe said his older brother was 'extremely proud -- he didn't have much to say other than 'embrace it',' when he found out he was off to Dortmund, but added 'our conversations aren't usually that serious.' The midfielder, who usually plays in a deeper role than his brother, said he did 'not want to be a superstar... I don't want to be a big character away from the pitch. Dewsbury-Hall has point to prove after sealing Everton switch
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall said he wants to 'prove a point' after sealing a move to Everton following a frustrating one-year spell at Chelsea.
