Shoppers buy 'effortlessly stylish' linen dresses for less in set deal
Next's own brand The Set has launched a 2-pack of linen dresses in black and ecru-stripe that are ideal for the summer months. Costing £34, this makes the dress £17 each
With summer edging closer, many of us are stocking up on linen looks to help keep us cool as the temperatures rise, from trousers and shorts to dresses. Next has just launched a set of dresses that are simple yet chic and versatile enough to wear to both the office, after work drinks and Sunday coffee stops.
Coming in a pack of two, the set costs £34 making the dresses £17 each. The Set Black/Ecru Stripe 2 Pack Midi Dress with Linen is available in sizes 6 to 20 and contains two dresses: one in ecru with delicate yet elegant pinstripes and one in plain black.
Promising to 'elevate' everyday wardrobes, especially in the sunshine-drenched seasons, the dresses can easily be dressed up with heels and a blazer for a business-appropriate lunch date or down with sandals and a denim jacket when off duty on the weekend. Plus, they can easily be accessorised being relatively plain - yet timeless - in design, which is always a winner.
Featuring a flattering square neckline that makes any outfit look chic and romantic, the dresses have relatively thick straps which is always a welcome details, especially for those of us who need to wear a bra for support. Their sleeveless design is roomy too, which is great for those who get warm rather easily, eliminating the potential for sweat-patches.
With a relaxed, A-line shape, the dresses are fitted with 'an easy, comfortable fit'. Made from a combination of 83% Viscose and 17% Linen, the dresses are breathable and come to just below the knees and don't seem to be stiff, as some linen dresses can be, which is always a welcome feature.
This Next duo from its own brand The Set is ideal for anyone looking to stock up on summer staples for any upcoming holidays or who simply want to top up their summer wardrobes with pieces that can work for both work and leisure. At £17 a piece, we think it's a bit of a bargain too.
However, for those happy to spend a little extra to get more linen in the mix, Mint Velvet offers a similar style for £140. Made with 100% linen, its black linen dress - which comes in black and grey - has a midi silhouette and similar square neckline. It feature lace trim detailing however as well as a rear split hemline and cross back.
At GAP, shoppers can get a dress that has a bit more of an hourglass shape in its Black Linen-Blend Square-Neck Maxi Summer Dress, £105. Made from a soft linen blend, the maxi dress has a similar square neckline but smocked back, for added comfort, and has a high percentage of linen at 55% than Next's The Set variation.
While the Next The Set duo of linen dresses hasn't yet received any reviews, having only recently dropped on the high street brand's website, the only potential downside we can see is whether or not the ecru shade may come a little see through. If that is the case, make sure to stock up on nude coloured undies. It also looks like the dress's straps aren't adjustable, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

'I own three' - Next shoppers keep buying £42 heels that are 'great for walking'
Next customers are smitten with a £42 pair of sandals that have become a repeat purchase for many. The Lipsy Elastic Low Wedge Espadrille Sandals have been praised by reviewers for being "very comfortable." Some shoppers were so taken with the sandals that they've bought several pairs, with one saying: "I have purchased these 3 times as I absolutely love them." Yet, another shopper noted: "There could be slightly more padding under the foot," and others reported some sizing issues. Available in a standard, wide, or extra wide fit, shoppers can choose from the six different colours. However, not all colours are available in every size. The standard fit sandals offer the most variety, with black, brown, gold, navy, nude, and rose gold options. Meanwhile, the wide fit sandals come in four colours, and the extra wide fit sandals come in two colours. For those seeking alternatives, ASOS offers the £35 South Beach Espadrille Wedge with Orchid in Gold, while Boden has the £120 Chunky Flatform Sandals. New Look's £29.99 Wide Fit White Faux Leather Stitch Trim Wedge Sandals and Office's £59.99 Marmalade Ankle Tie Espadrille Wedges are also options, reports the Mirror. Before deciding on Next's sandals, shoppers might want to weigh up the reviews, as opinions vary for the Lipsy Black Standard Fit Elastic Low Wedge Espadrille Sandals. One customer reviewing the standard-fit option said: "Good fit true to size, very comfortable great to walk in. (Image: Next) "Wore them for my flight to Barbados to join a cruise and had them on over 12 hours so very pleased with them. A second fan wrote: "Some of the most comfortable wedges ever worn!! Love them and now have in three different colours!" Another put: "I bought the navy lipsy sandals and they are so comfortable to wear, I decided to get the nude ones as they will go with any outfit. Great price too." Unfortunately, not everyone was impressed, with one customer claiming: "Complete rubbish for the money. Sent them back." A second reviewer added: "I bought these sandals last year in a couple of colours. They go really nice with jeans, and are really comfortable. The quality of this pair doesn't seem as sturdy. I don't think they are going to last as long." Someone else said: "I was a bit disappointed with these. One of the shoes fit better than the other which feels a bit loose." Elsewhere, reviewing the wide-fit version of the sandals, a buyer said: "Such lovely comfortable sandals with a lightweight wedge heel. Being elasticated at front they don't hurt your feet. Quite expensive but worth it for comfort." (Image: ASOS) A shopper agreed: "I have purchased these 3 times as I absolutely love them. Very comfortable and look lovely. Good fit. Excellent delivery service." Another person liked the sandals but thought there was room for improvement, saying: "So pleased to find wide foot sandals with a decent wedge heel." They added: "My only criticism is that there could be slightly more padding under the foot, however I don't intend doing long treks in them so they'll be fine for what I'll be using them for. Bought two pairs one black one navy, size 5 UK, foot is a little long there's a bit of a gap at the heel." A different response read: "Perhaps I shouldn't have ordered wide fit, although I usually need these, but the straps were too loose and I had to return these sandals." Elsewhere, a reviewer praised: "I bought a pair last year they were so comfy I brought another pair but in a different colour. Highly recommend especially if you have wide feet."

Rochelle Humes stuns in Next's linen co-ord hailed as 'perfect'
The tailored set consists of a waistcoat and either a skirt or a pair of city shorts Rochelle Humes looks absolutely stunning in her latest Next campaign, where she's seen modelling a chic new summer collection. The latest drop features tailored pieces in lightweight materials that are ideal for summer in the UK and on holiday abroad. A blue, textured, linen co-ord, as modelled by Rochelle, is already proving to be popular with shoppers who have praised it for being 'flattering' and 'perfect'. The TV presenter and pop star wore the powder-blue tailored co-ord with kitten heels and oversized earrings. The set is made from linen, so it's suitable for summer wear, ensuring consumers will not feel overly hot. It includes a longline sleeveless waistcoat (£39) with tortoise shell buttons—available in sizes 6-20. And then, prospective buyers can either choose from a longline skirt (£34, in sizes 6-22) or a pair of city shorts (£26, in sizes 6-22). The waistcoat and the skirt seem to be the most popular, with the most reviews. Similarly, New Look is selling an on-trend butter yellow co-ord as part of its summer collection. It is made up of a tailored pair of wide-leg trousers on sale for £34.99, and a matching bandeau waistcoat priced at £35.99 - it is also available in black and white colour options. Back to Rochelle's Next co-ord, a shopper said they have received lots of compliments on the waistcoat, explaining: "Lovely waistcoat and very flattering. Received so many compliments. It's washed well, too." Another had issues finding their right size, writing: "Sizing too big for a size six horrible, it's so massive. Lovely quality but too big size six fits a size 10 person." For shoppers after a boho-inspired co-ord look to Nobody's Child where this Blue Tie Dye set is offered. It comprises a bow-tie cami with spaghetti straps (£49) and a matching long, floaty skirt (£99). Back to Next's linen co-ord, another fashion fan wore the waistcoat with jeans instead of buying the full co-ord and said it 'looked brilliant'. Adding: "Very comfy to wear and a perfect length for me." There are also rave reviews for the longline skirt. A buyer complimented its 'beautiful colour' and lightweight material, but had a gripe, adding: "If I had one downside it would be that it is long. I'm 5ft 4 and had to turn the waist strap up one." Another shopper concluded: "Omg! Perfect linen skirt for the summer! Long, loose and cool. Very flattering and perfect length (I'm 5ft 4in and it rests just above my ankle. Perfect with a pair or wedges and a floaty top! Love it and will wear it to death!"
