Wendy Williams Is Hopeful of Finding Love if Guardianship Ends
Kicking off the month on a hopeful note, revealed what's next if her battle to end guardianship proves successful. On April 1, protestors showed up at the assisted living facility in New York City where she resides in her support and against the court-ordered conservatorship. During the demonstration, Williams informed PEOPLE via phone call about her plans to 'stay in New York where I'm comfortable' and find love while discussing other matters of importance.
The former talk show host was placed under legal guardianship in 2022 and has since openly shared about the hardships of her living conditions. These reportedly include restrictions from the outside world. Earlier this year, Williams revealed that she has been in a ward since her 2023 dementia diagnosis.
Wendy Williams shared her plans to 'fall in love' and continue living in New York City if her guardianship ends, discussing her plans to find romance amid the battle. On Tuesday, she spoke to PEOPLE on call while protestors staged demonstrations with #FreeWendy fliers outside the assisted living facility in NYC where she resides. That same day, protestors also rallied in Los Angeles, supporting her fight against the legal conservatorship with Sabrina Morrissey as her court-appointed guardian.
Positive about her battle and fans' support, the former talk show host, while talking about bringing an end to the guardianship, said, 'It will absolutely 1000% happen.' She then notified the publication that when 'I get out of the situation, I'm staying in New York where I'm comfortable.' In addition, Williams noted that she 'can't wait to fall in love.' She further claimed it felt 'very good' to witness an exceedingly large slew of fans and supporters up close.
Wendy Williams also mentioned that it's 'long overdue' for her battle against the legal guardianship to conclude. She then described her present living situation, calling the 'memory unit' where she resides in a 'f–king dump.'
After this, she expressed her uncertainty regarding the prolonged conservatorship. 'Why am I still a ward? It's been too damn long,' Williams said, highlighting her distrust in people and importance of seeing the media at this point of her life.
Moreover, last month, the media personality reportedly underwent a psych evaluation and revealed passing with 'flying colors.' She later spent the evening in NYC's NoHo while her health care advocate and caretaker, Ginalisa Monterrosa, announced these evaluations deemed she 'is not incapacitated.'

Sydney Sweeney Reveals Glen Powell Helped Her Land a Gig
Sydney Sweeney couldn't stop fangirling over Tate McRae as she gushed about how Glen Powell helped them connect. The actor revealed that Powell helped her land the gig with McRae on her new music video during her recent appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.' The host, Clarkson, teased the subject, questioning Sweeney about how she nabbed the opportunity to work with the singer, prompting her to rave about her former co-star's role. Glen Powell played a major role in Sydney Sweeney and Tate McRae's collaboration in 'Miss Possessive.' During her appearance on Kelly Clarkson's talk show, Sweeney lavished praise on her 'Anyone But You' co-star for helping her connect with the singer. In the episode, Clarkson seemed too curious about the duo's iconic joint endeavour in the song, triggering the discussion about Powell's involvement and how it possibly couldn't have happened without him. 'You were on a Tate McRae song, how did that happen?' the host asked Sweeney, who was thrilled to answer. She revealed being McRae's and her music's 'huge fan,' but admitted to not knowing her before that. 'I think she's so beyond talented, and she's so hot,' the Emmy-nominated star raved about the singer, ultimately dishing that Powell 'connected' them. She explained, 'He was like, 'Hey, Tate wants me to connect you two. Can I give her your number?' I said, 'Yeah sure.'' Acknowledging Glen Powell's role in the collaboration, Sydney Sweeney shared that Tate McRae reached out to her soon after. The latter reportedly requested a sample of her voice for her latest album. Both Clarkson and Sweeney unanimously agreed that it was 'so cool' she got to work with the musician, and all fans have Powell to thank for the epic collab. 'Miss Possessive' is the opening track of the 'So Close to What' album. It features a brief portion with Sweeney, saying, 'No, seriously, get your hands off my man.' The revelation came days after Powell's rumored ex, Gigi Paris, seemingly broke her silence on their highly publicized breakup. Paris appeared on the 'Too Much' podcast and talked about a former boyfriend without taking names, revealing she knew exactly when to walk away. Originally reported by Nikita Mahato on Reality Tea. ‘Stronger than the storm' Franklin-Southampton County Fair returns after severe storm last year
COURTLAND, Va. (WAVY) — The Franklin-Southampton County Fair combines the perfect blend of country music, rides and food every year. 'We have had on this little stage in this little county Brad Paisley, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum [now Lady A], Jason Aldean on these stages because they were so good. We got them early,' said LeeAnn Williams, Franklin-Southampton County Fair Board. 'We are known for our bands. We're very blessed to have them. That's a big draw.' The Franklin-Southampton County Fair will return August 6-9, 2025. The food court looks a lot different this year following the first fair cancellation in over 40 years. 'We had to shut down early because of the weather, but never had we not started one that I know of,' said Glenn Joyner, President of the Franklin-Southampton Fair. NWS: Straight-line winds caused damage to Southampton Co. Fairgrounds On August 4, 2024, the National Weather Service reported straight-line wind, as strong as a minor tornado, damaged trees and the concession stand. 'The good Lord saved us. We're all OK' Franklin-Southampton County Fair canceled following Sunday storm Joyner tells 10 On Your Side that he was at the Franklin-Southampton County Queens pageant when he got the call from Midway and set up crews. 'He said, 'Glenn you need to get out here! You need to get here quickly,' said Joyner. 'We got here as quick, as safe as we could. I didn't believe it when I pulled in. The building was turned upside down. There was a sink that we had in the kitchen. It was actually stuck up in the trees. The first couple of weeks, it was just devastation. Sheriff Josh Wyche Sr., Southampton County Sheriff's Office adds, 'It's one thing when you hear about it and you're coming to it. But when you get here on the grounds, you see the devastation that came through.' 'I'm going to look out for them': The Graceful Baker will donate 10% of proceeds to Southampton Co. Fair On May 31, 2025, the first-ever 'Fair Jam' celebration showcased the new food and meeting building. 'It means a lot more than just a food court. It was disappointing that we were able to have a fair last year but gave us an opportunity to see something that we'd never seen before. So many local businesses stepped forward and paired up with the fair and helped us when they didn't have to. It was amazing to see the community come together like that. That was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,' said Bunn. Longtime Board Member Williams said the new features excite her the most including a new bathroom with air conditioning. 'Now we have a real kitchen with appliances. The building has been painted,' said Williams. 'We're all volunteers. We do it because we love it. If you don't love it, then you don't do it. You know a lot of people, they've come and gone, but us old people, it's probably time for me to go. It's just in my heart!' Joyner concludes, 'It's been a long, long year on my part because I'm doing a lot of, I've been the middle person getting everything playing, getting everything laid out, getting the contractors lined up. But I never doubted once that we wouldn't have our fair this year because of it!' 'The good Lord is willing. We have good weather this year. We have a good turnout for this year!'
