Paddy Pimblett goes off on Arman Tsarukyan for fumbling UFC 311 title shot
Paddy Pimblett is convinced Arman Tsarukyan was cleared to fight at UFC 311 but opted not to.
Tsarukyan (22-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) withdrew from his main event against UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in January just one day earlier after pulling his back. Makhachev ended up facing Renato Moicano instead and submitted him in Round 1.
Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) went off on Tsarukyan for not competing.
'The only person in the top 10 I can think of who's under 35 is Arman Tsarukyan,' Pimblett said on the 'Full Send Podcast.' 'He's just a little posh boy who's had everything handed to him on a silver platter by his dad. No (he didn't get injured), he's a little b*tch ass. That's what you are, Arman, little b*tch boy.'
UFC CEO Dana White was not pleased with Tsarukyan's last-minute pullout and said the No. 1 contender will have to fight his way back to a title shot.
'Dana shot him down in that interview. I was like, 'Whoa, that's heavy,'' Pimblett said. 'You don't want the boss saying that about you because he got asked is Arman still No. 1 and he was like, 'No, he's going to have to go back to the drawing board.' … He decided he's not going to fight. So basically, Arman, you sh*t your pants. You farted and followed through and had sh*t coming down your leg.'
Pimblett will look to emerge as a top lightweight contender when he takes on former title challenger Michael Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) in Saturday's five-round UFC 314 co-headliner (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) at Kaseya Center in Miami.
Tsarukyan fired back at Pimblett and is willing to fight him if he emerges victorious against Chandler.
says the guy who got the easiest path to the top in ufc just because he's got a funny accent and budget beatles haircut. I dare you to call me out if you win and we will see who will shit his pants in the octagon when we meet clown @PaddyTheBaddy https://t.co/TKbm1hn5X2

Trump attends UFC championship fight in New Jersey, taking a break from politics, Musk feud
Associated Press NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — President Donald Trump walked out to a thunderous standing ovation just ahead of the start of the UFC pay-per-view card at the Prudential Center on Saturday night, putting his public feud with tech billionaire Elon Musk on hold to instead watch the fierce battles inside the cage. Trump was accompanied by UFC President Dana White and the pair headed to their cageside seats to Kid Rock's 'American Bad Ass.' Trump and White did the same for UFC's card last November at Madison Square Garden, only then they were joined by Musk. Trump shook hands with fans and supporters — a heavyweight lineup that included retired boxing champion Mike Tyson — on his way to the cage. Trump was joined by his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, along with son Eric Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump shook hands with the UFC broadcast team that included Joe Rogan. Rogan hosted Trump on his podcast for hours in the final stages of the campaign last year. UFC fans went wild for Trump and held mobile devices in their outstretched arms to snap pictures of him. Trump arrived in time for the start of a card set to include two championship fights. Julianna Pena and Merab Dvalishvili were scheduled to each defend their 135-pound championships. UFC fighter Kevin Holland won the first fight with Trump in the building, scaled the cage and briefly chatted with the President before his post-fight interview. ___ AP sports:

UFC 316 video: Azamat Murzakanov pummels Brendson Ribeiro for quick TKO win
NEWARK, N.J. – Azamat Murzakanov finishes fights, even when he's out of action for 10 months at a time. At UFC 316 on Saturday, Murzakanov (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) finished Brendson Ribeiro with punches at 3:25 of Round 1 on the prelims at Prudential Center. Advertisement Murzakanov put Ribeiro on roller skates and charged for the finish. Saturday's fight was Murzakanov's first since he was suspended for a positive drug test that was traced back to a tainted supplement. Since his UFC signing in 2021, Murzakanov has only competed five times – but has won all five and four by knockout. Ribeiro has a two-fight winning streak snapped.
