LeBron James skips All-Star game for father-daughter workout with Zhuri

Express Tribune18-02-2025

As the NBA emerges from the All-Star break, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James opted to sit out the 2025 NBA All-Star Game due to a foot issue. Instead, he took the time to focus on both his fitness and family, training alongside his 10-year-old daughter, Zhuri James.
James shared clips of their father-daughter workout on social media, showing himself exercising while playing tracks from Kendrick Lamar's 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'. Despite the ongoing tensions between Lamar and Drake, James appeared to focus on bonding with his youngest child rather than engaging in music industry debates. The videos also showed Zhuri participating in exercises and playfully tossing baseball equipment, reflecting her growing interest in sports.
This isn't the first time James has publicly expressed pride in Zhuri's athletic journey. In late 2024, he shared photos of her in a volleyball uniform, wearing the number 6 jersey—a number her father famously wore during his Miami Heat and USA Basketball stints. LeBron has frequently spoken about his love for his daughter, previously stating in a 2021 interview that 'my daughter is the greatest thing in my life, along with my boys. Whenever she smiles, it makes me happy.'
While some fans supported James prioritizing family and recovery, others were disappointed by his absence from the All-Star Game, feeling he should have participated despite the injury. However, his focus remains on preparing for the second half of the NBA season. The Lakers are set to resume play on February 19 against the Charlotte Hornets, as they look to make a push for the NBA playoffs.

Vanessa Bryant addresses pregnancy rumors using Rihanna meme

Vanessa Bryant has addressed recent online speculation regarding her alleged pregnancy by sharing a pointed meme on Instagram. The post featured Rihanna flipping her middle finger with the caption: 'Me protecting my peace, not pregnant, and having fun all summer.' While Bryant did not issue a formal statement, the meme clearly served as a response to the widespread rumors circulating across social media platforms. These rumors, which began circulating in late May 2025, claimed Bryant was expecting a child with a 27-year-old NBA player—an unverified narrative that quickly gained traction online. Users on platforms like TikTok and Facebook spread old photos they claimed showed a baby bump, along with commentary questioning her loyalty to her late husband, NBA legend Kobe Bryant. However, many fans and social media users came to Bryant's defense. Supporters emphasized that Vanessa has remained respectful to Kobe's legacy since his passing in 2020 and noted that five years is a reasonable period to begin healing. Several online posts pointed out the double standards often placed on women, especially widows, when it comes to moving forward with their lives. Vanessa Bryant, 42, is the mother of four children and leads the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. She met Kobe in 1999 and married him in 2001. The couple had four daughters, including Gianna, who tragically passed away alongside Kobe in a helicopter crash in 2020. Despite frequent public scrutiny, Vanessa has largely remained private, focusing on her family and philanthropic work. Her recent Instagram post serves as a succinct yet powerful dismissal of the rumors, reinforcing her commitment to living life on her own terms.

Cardi B confirms romance with Stefon Diggs on Instagram amid divorce from Offset

Cardi B has officially confirmed her relationship with NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs via Instagram, sharing an intimate carousel of their Memorial Day celebration on a yacht in Miami. The couple, who have been linked since February after being seen together in New York and spending Valentine's Day side by side, appeared affectionate in a photo lounging on the yacht's deck. The post also included images of romantic gifts, such as bouquets of red roses and large teddy bears, suggesting a deepening connection between the Grammy-winning artist and the New England Patriots player. Cardi captioned the post 'Chapter 5 ……Hello Chapter six,' hinting at a new phase in her life as she navigates a public and contentious divorce from rapper Offset. Despite earlier reports last week claiming Cardi was upset with Diggs for allegedly flirting with bikini-clad women during the same yacht gathering, their latest Instagram update suggests the pair are on solid ground. This relationship milestone marks their first official confirmation following several months of speculation, including a courtside appearance together at Madison Square Garden during the NBA playoffs.

The time when Dawson's Creek reboot almost happened, creator Kevin Williamson reveals

A Dawson's Creek revival with the original cast almost came to fruition, according to series creator Kevin Williamson. In an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Williamson shared that, despite the show's 2003 finale providing a sense of closure, there were discussions about revisiting the iconic teen drama during the peak of the reboot craze following the COVID-19 pandemic. The beloved series, which followed the lives of Joey (Katie Holmes), Pacey (Joshua Jackson), Dawson (James Van Der Beek), and their friends in the fictional town of Capeside, had concluded its five-season run with emotional farewells, including the death of Jen (Michelle Williams). However, the idea of a revival sparked interest from both the cast and the creator, with Williamson admitting that they were repeatedly approached during the height of reunion and reboot trends. 'James [Van Der Beek] wanted to do it, but then Josh [Jackson] was busy. Katie [Holmes] was on board, but then James wasn't available. No one could align their schedules,' Williamson explained, noting that while the cast was enthusiastic about the concept, timing proved to be a major hurdle. Ultimately, the team reflected on the show's legacy and concluded that revisiting Dawson's Creek in its original form might not be the best direction. 'We kind of just went, 'We did it and it was good,'' Williamson said. 'We felt like maybe it could live again in another way, but not as a reboot.' While they considered possibilities, such as focusing on the next generation of characters, the revival ultimately did not move forward. Despite the scheduling conflicts, Williamson remains busy with multiple projects, including directing Scream 7 and debuting his new series, The Waterfront. As for the original cast, Holmes, Jackson, and Van Der Beek are all involved in separate projects, with their individual careers keeping them occupied.
