Virtual Branch enables HR Ministry to bring down in-person visits by 93%

RIYADH — The Virtual Branch, launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), has contributed to a qualitative shift in service delivery, enabling individuals and establishments to complete their transactions electronically with ease, without the need to personally visit the ministry's branch offices.
The ministry's Virtual Branch has been instrumental to a 93 percent decrease in visits to labor offices over the period of last 23 months, with monthly visits dropping from 60,000 to 3,000. It has led to improved government efficiency, easier access to services, and faster transaction processing.
The reduction in the number of personal visits highlights the ministry's success in developing advanced digital solutions that meet beneficiaries' needs with flexibility and efficiency, streamlining procedures and saving time and effort.
Through the "Qiwa" platform, the Virtual branch offers an integrated suite of digital services, allowing beneficiaries to carry out various transactions electronically, such as issuing professional and temporary visas, renewing work permits, transferring labor services, and inquiring about employment contracts.
It also enables the submission of labor complaints online and allows the booking of advisory appointments with ministry representatives to discuss regulations, ensuring clarity and efficiency in procedures.
The achievement aligns with the ministry's commitment to improving government services in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes digital transformation and enhancing quality of services.

A: My journey in healthcare has been both dynamic and fulfilling. I graduated in Radiological Sciences from the University of Wales (UK)and began my career as a radiology technologist at a Military hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Following a decade in public healthcare, I transitioned to the corporate sector, where I held several senior leadership roles in digital health services. My journey then took me to the Ministry of Investment (formerly SAGIA), where I was the managing director for healthcare investment and promotion efforts responsible of medical devices , medical services , digital health and pharmaceutical investments . Before joining BD, I held the role of Chief commercial officer (CCO)at the National Unified Procurement Company) NUPCO. Stepping into this role at BD is a natural continuation of my mission to enhance the healthcare ecosystem system in KSA. BD has a legacy of innovation in medical technology, and I am honoured to lead its efforts in Saudi Arabia to drive impactful healthcare transformation. A: My priorities span both internal and external objectives. Internally, I am focused on fostering a strong, collaborative workplace culture. A key priority is to establish BD as an employer of choice in Saudi Arabia, attracting and retaining top local talent while ensuring alignment with the Kingdom's Saudization my goal is to strengthen BD's presence and visibility in the Saudi market. NEOM Port trains 10 Saudi women in remote crane operation
Saudi Gazette report TABUK — NEOM Port has begun training 10 young Saudi women from the Tabuk region in advanced technical jobs, including remote operation of cranes. This training is part of a pioneering two-year program that combines technical education, practical training, and career guidance. This initiative coincides with NEOM Port's delivery of the first batch of fully automated, remote-controlled cranes designed to transfer containers and cargo from ships to the dock, enhancing its readiness for smart trade. This equipment, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, will contribute to raising the port's efficiency and strengthening its position as a global center for smart and sustainable trade. Development work is accelerating at NEOM Port in preparation for the opening of Advanced Container Terminal No. 1 in 2026, which will implement an automated horizontal transport system as part of the port's plan to achieve full automation. With the introduction of these new technologies, the port's logistics capacity is expected to double, supporting industrial growth in the region and expanding access to global markets, in addition to enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of supply chains and opening up horizons of new works.

Saudi Investment Minister leads delegation to UK-Saudi Investment Summit in London
Saudi Gazette report LONDON— Saudi Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, is heading the Saudi delegation participating in the Saudi-UK Partnership and Investment Summit, which is being held on Wednesday at Mansion House in London. The summit is organized by the Saudi-British Joint Business Council and hosted by the City of London Corporation. It is supported by the Ministry of Investment and the UK Department for Business and Trade, and is attended by more than 400 policymakers, senior investors, and business leaders from both countries. The summit aims to explore prospects for bilateral cooperation and enhance partnership and investment opportunities between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. It includes a high-level ministerial dialogue bringing together Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and British Minister of Investment Baroness Bobby Gustafson in a special session highlighting the development of strategic relations between the two countries and their shared vision for the future. The summit sessions will address shared development priorities in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the UK's future industrial strategy, UK Invest 2035, including expanding public-private partnerships, financing infrastructure projects, developing the venture capital ecosystem, and leveraging advanced technologies such as deeptech, space science, and clean innovation.
