'We're thrilled to have Who's Your Driver return as the presenting partner of our monumental race weekend,' Lori Collier Waran, Richmond Raceway president, said. 'As we look forward to welcoming back Saturday night racing at our historic racetrack, we thank our designated drivers tasked with getting all our fans home safely.'
"NASCAR fans know that planning ahead is the key to success—both on and off the track," Kristin Pettway, executive director of DRIVE SMART Virginia, said. 'As we gear up for an exciting race weekend at Richmond Raceway, we encourage all fans to celebrate responsibly by designating a sober driver or arranging a safe ride home. Just like their favorite drivers rely on a solid game plan to reach the finish line safely, race fans should do the same. Let's make smart choices that ensure everyone gets home safely."

In addition to DRIVE SMART Virginia, the Who's Your Driver campaign was created in conjunction with the Department of Motor Vehicles' Highway Safety Office and Richmond Raceway. The campaign promotes safe and sober driving and encourages drivers to take their role seriously by buckling up, never driving under the influence, and doing everything they can to keep themselves and others protected on the roads.
According to the press release, in 2023, 400 people were injured and 293 people were killed as the result of alcohol-related traffic crashes in Virginia. The same year, 335 people who weren't buckled up were killed representing 54% of all crash fatalities in vehicles equipped with safety restraints.

"These statistics are a stark reminder of the life-threatening consequences of impaired driving and not wearing a seatbelt," DMV Commissioner Gerald Lackey, the Governor's highway safety representative, said. "Race car drivers trust their crews to keep them safe; drivers and fans must trust themselves to make responsible choices—designating a sober driver, wearing seatbelts, and avoiding distractions. The true victory is when we all make safe driving choices and reach our destination safely."

NASCAR will only visit Richmond Raceway once in 2025, however, the track will continue to be active year-round with concerts, community events and the Nitrocross race weekend on Sept. 7-8.

Toni Breidinger's SI Swimsuit Photoshoot Has NASCAR Fans Stunned
Toni Breidinger's SI Swimsuit Photoshoot Has NASCAR Fans Stunned originally appeared on The Spun. Unfortunately for NASCAR Truck Series driver Toni Breidinger, everything that could go wrong for her this Friday did go wrong. Coming into Friday's race at Watkins Glen, the first-year Truck Series driver was 22nd in the standings without a single top-10 finish. She was hoping things would turn around for her in New York. Instead, her No. 5 Dave & Buster's Toyota Tundra burst into flames as she was in position to potentially pick up a top-15 finish. There were only 13 laps left when this occurred. As if that wasn't bad enough, Breidinger revealed that someone broke into her car and stole her personal items before Friday's race. "Anyone in the Ithaca NY area! My car was broken into last night, and my suitcase was stolen. It's a custom Tumi suitcase with TB on it. Inside were personal items, including my 818 and Coach suits," Breidinger wrote on X. "If you happen to see a suitcase or my racing stuff that's being sold on Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, or anywhere else, please send me the link." Hopefully, things will turn around for Breidinger this weekend. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit tried uplifting Breidinger by sharing a few photos from her rookie photoshoot along with this caption: "Weekend, we're coming for you... with no pit stops in sight." Breidinger was part of a rookie class for SI Swimsuit that included WNBA star Cameron Brink, golfer Nelly Korda and Olympic gymnast Suni Lee. Breidinger's first experience with SI Swimsuit took place in Boca Raton, Florida. "It's an honor to be featured in the 2025 issue," Breidinger said. "It's very surreal to be in this issue alongside so many inspiring athletes. Thank you a million to everyone who made this dream of mine come true." There's no question Breidinger has become a star in the NASCAR community. With that said, there'll be plenty of fans cheering her on next Friday at Richmond Raceway. NASCAR Fans Praying For Connor Zilisch After 'Terrifying' Fall On Saturday
NASCAR Fans Praying For Connor Zilisch After 'Terrifying' Fall On Saturday originally appeared on The Spun. Saturday at Watkins Glen was a bittersweet moment for JR Motorsports' Connor Zilisch. Moments after entering victory lane following his thrilling win in New York, things took a terrifying turn when he fell off his car while celebrating and landed hard on his head and neck area. The loud celebrations at the Mission 200 turned dead silent as medical professionals rushed over to Zilisch to help him. It appeared that Zilisch slipped on a safety netting draped over his window but as he fell it got caught and he was unable to brace himself, hitting the ground with all of his weight. NASCAR reporters on the scene filmed Zilisch being loaded into an ambulance. Thankfully, he appeared to have movement in his extremities and was able to sit up on his own power. "#NASCAR … Xfinity winner Connor Zilisch is loaded into an ambulance to go to the care center after falling in victory lane. He sat up in the ambulance," NBC Sports' Dustin Long reported. Thoughts and Prayers NASCAR fans quickly started sending Zilisch all of the best as he gets treated for any potential injuries: "That's literally the worst way to fall too holy (expletive). The way his leg got caught in the window and flipped him upside down head-first was just brutal man, and it didn't look like his leg bent right either," one stunned user replied. "Hopefully he's okay," wrote another. "(Praying) hope he's ok after that I've never seen anything like that before," a third wrote. "You can tell he almost lost his footing a few seconds prior because of the window net sliding. Drivers please start tucking your window nets inside of the car, letting them hang out the window like this is a genuine safety hazard. Hope Connor's okay, what a brutal fall..." "Terrifying. Always worried if anyone would ever slip up on the window netting in a celebration… and this is worst case scenario. Hope @ConnorZilisch isn't too badly hurt from this. He is a super talent." NASCAR and JR Motorsports have released statements making it clear that he is awake and alert, but he is still undergoing testing at a local hospital as an added precaution. "UPDATE: ConnorZilisch has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation following today's Xfinity Series race. He is awake and alert," NASCAR posted on X a short while ago. "As stated in the media center by NASCAR, ConnorZilisch is awake and alert and being transported to a local hospital for further evaluations," JR Motorsports also posted on X. Momentum stopped? Zilisch had been on an absolute tear in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season. Since late May he has enjoyed 11 straight top-five finishes, winning five of those races in the process. It's still a dead-heat for the top of the table though. He's been tied with JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier, but today's results should see him move ahead as the Xfinity Series playoffs approach. Fortunately, every indication right now indicates that the worst possible outcomes are not going to be the case. Being mobile and alert are the two main things he's already achieved. We wish Zilisch all the best as he recovers. Connor Zilisch details NASCAR injuries after Victory Lane spill
Connor Zilisch details NASCAR injuries after Victory Lane spill originally appeared on The Sporting News Connor Zilisch won for the sixth time this season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series but his celebration extracted a physical toll. While climbing out of his car on Saturday at Watkins Glen, the 19-year-old prodigy and Trackhouse Racing development driver on loan to JR Motorsports tripped and fell face forward onto the pavement. The fall appeared to have knocked him out momentarily and Zilisch needed to be stretchered out of Victory Lane. Zilisch has tweeted the extend of his injuries following his release from the hospital. Zilisch was scheduled to race in all three NASCAR races this weekend. He was set to start 25th in that race, driving the No. 87 Trackhouse Racing. The team has opted to withdraw instead of calling in a substitute. Zilisch is the current Xfinity Series championship leader and the playoffs begin at the end of the month.
