Emma Raducanu responds to Carlos Alcaraz dating rumors after being ‘the talk of' tennis world
British tennis star Emma Raducanu was all smiles when asked about fans who are shipping a romance between her and top men's player Carlos Alcaraz on social media.
Raducanu couldn't help but laugh during a Monday interview with BBC Sport while explaining her amusement over the dating rumors that started after it was announced last week the pair were teaming up for the newly formatted mixed doubles event at the U.S. Open.
'But I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing some entertainment for everyone,' Raducanu, 22, said, adding that she was slightly aware of the speculation that they're 'destined' for each other.
Raducanu explained that she and 22-year-old Alcaraz have a history.
'We go back a long way and I think that we both started getting to know each other a lot in 2021,' she said. '… We were like speaking and friends before anyone won anything.'

Raducanu and Alcaraz's friendship apparently stirred buzz at the 2025 HSBC Championships, where the 22-year-old Spanish star edged Czech Jiri Lehecka 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-2 on Sunday to claim his second Queen's Club title.
Raducanu supported Alcaraz during his semifinal win over Roberto Bautista Agut at The Queen's Club in London.
'Emma and Carlos' friendship was the talk of Queens,' according to The Sun, adding that 'broadcasters were all gossiping' about the pair.

'People think there is something going on between them because they have such a spark. He was apparently seen at her hotel last week and on Thursday and Saturday, when Emma went to support him, Emma's car arrived just minutes after Carlos got to Queens with his team. Inside they were seen laughing and joking with one another. They seem very happy and relaxed with each other.'
Raducanu shot to fame with her stunning run to the U.S. Open title in 2021 after making the event as a qualifier.
She has dealt with a number of injuries and coaching changes since as her career has failed to take off.

However, she made a run to the fourth round last year at Wimbledon in front of her home fans and will be looking for repeat success when the grand slam begins next week.
Raducanu will face Ann Li of the U.S. in the women's singles match at the Eastbourne International on Tuesday in a Wimbledon tuneup.
Alcaraz is a five-time grand slam champion and is coming off a win at the French Open last month in an epic comeback against Jannik Sinner.

I received some pretty bad news – Emma Raducanu emotional after Eastbourne win
Emma Raducanu fought back tears after setting aside 'some pretty bad news' to battle back from a set down to defeat American Ann Li in the first round of the Eastbourne Open. Amid blustery conditions, the British number one, who missed last week's Berlin Open as she managed a back problem, resumed her Wimbledon preparations with a 6-7 (5) 6-3 6-1 success. Advertisement Raducanu has been struggling with the issue since competing in Strasbourg before the French Open and took an off-court medical timeout during her quarter-final loss at Queen's Club earlier this month. Emma Raducanu was overcome by emotion after the victory (Bradley Collyer/PA). But, aside from a slip and fall on the grass in set one, she came through her opening examination at Devonshire Park unscathed. The 2021 US Open champion produced an emotional response after sealing progression in two hours and 18 minutes with a fine backhand winner. Asked about her reaction, Raducanu, 22, replied: 'I received some pretty bad news, so I would like to keep it personal, if that's OK? 'But it was difficult, very emotional at the end and probably just a release of different emotions.' Advertisement Victory over world number 64 Li sets up a second-round clash with 19-year-old Australian Maya Joint, who knocked out two-time Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabeur on Monday. 'It was a physically demanding match,' said seventh seed Raducanu. 'It was pretty difficult and in the wind you are constantly trying to adjust. We had some long rallies, I was running a lot. 'I feel OK, a little bit of fatigue, a bit of stiffness, but I need to just see how I feel tomorrow.' Earlier, Harriet Dart blew two match points on serve as she slipped to an agonising defeat to reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova. Following two suspensions of play in the opening set due to wet weather, the British number four moved to the brink of one of the greatest wins of her career. But Krejcikova, who defeated Jasmine Paolini in last year's Wimbledon final, survived a first-round shock by hitting back to progress 6-3 6-7 (4) 7-5 in two hours and 40 minutes. Advertisement The second seed will face another Briton in round two following Jodie Burrage's 6-3 6-2 win over Japan's Moyuka Uchijima. Dart did little to hide her frustration at failing to capitalise on the pair of match-clinching opportunities against the 2021 French Open champion, letting out a piercing scream as the following game slipped away. 'Some crazy, crazy conditions today,' said the 28-year-old. 'I was pretty close. I missed a ball on match point and then she played a really good other point on my other match point and then she becomes a bit freer. It was a tough match overall. 'My level was 10 times better than I've played the last two weeks. For me that's more important, especially going to Wimbledon. Advertisement 'Of course, I'd like to have won today. But I was also playing a very experienced, multiple grand slam winner.' Billy Harris beat fellow Briton Cameron Norrie (Bradley Collyer/PA). British number three Sonay Kartal lost 6-3 7-6 (2) to 2021 Eastbourne champion Jelena Ostapenko. In the first round of the men's draw, Billy Harris won the battle of the Britons by upsetting Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-4. British qualifier George Loffhagen lost 7-6 (6) 3-6 7-6 (1) to American Reilly Opelka, while Ilkley Open runner-up Jack Pinnington Jones went down 4-6 6-3 6-3 to Portuguese eighth seed Nuno Borges.

WWE Hall of Famer Believes LA Knight Deserves a World Title Run
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The men's main event scene in WWE seemingly has the same Superstars competing over and over again: Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Gunther, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns. More Pro Wrestling: WWE News: Dominik Mysterio Injured, Match at Night of Champions Canceled While these are all very talented wrestlers who deserve their time in the spotlight, at some point other people need to be introduced in order to keep things fresh. Yes, there are plenty of younger WWE Superstars who seem like they can be in the main event picture soon, including Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, Penta, Carmelo Hayes, and Jacob Fatu. But one wrestler seems more ready for a push than the others: LA Knight. LA Knight remains one of the most popular wrestlers in the company, constantly receiving huge pops from the crowd AUSTIN, TEXAS - JANUARY 24: LA Knight enters the ring during SmackDown at Moody Center on January 24, 2025 in Austin, Texas. AUSTIN, TEXAS - JANUARY 24: LA Knight enters the ring during SmackDown at Moody Center on January 24, 2025 in Austin, Texas. WWE/Getty Images During an episode of his "Kliq This" podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash revealed that he thinks LA Knight deserves a World Title run. "I'll tell you what, we gave him a lot of s*** early in this show, that he was a copycat and everything else," Nash said, per Robert Defelice of Fightful. "I appreciate him. I think he's a f****** solid hand. "The people like him. He would definitely be on my list of guys to give a World Title run to. His work has always been solid. Also, that f***** stays in f****** really good shape." This support is particularly surprising because, as mentioned earlier, Nash was hypercritical of LA Knight, saying he was a ripoff of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. However, it seems that LA Knight has changed Nash's mind, proving just how over the talented WWE Superstar really is. More Pro Wrestling: WWE Legend Jerry Lawler Shares Heartbreaking Health Update LA Knight has been wrestling professionally since 2003, appearing in promotions like the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Total Nonstop Action (TNA), and even a brief period in WWE from 2013-2014. LA Knight returned to WWE in 2021 under his current moniker, eventually winning the re-introduced Million Dollar Championship in NXT. Eventually, he was moved to the main roster allied to Maximum Male Models as the manager to Mace and Mansoor under the name Max Dupri. However, he turned on the duo and reestablished himself as LA Knight. After that, LA Knight experienced a huge rise in popularity in 2022 despite losing most of his matches. This was largely because of his natural charisma, excellent promo abilities, and in-ring style that was similar to the Attitude Era. Since then, LA Knight has been one of the most popular wrestlers on the WWE roster. While he has held the United States Championship twice and won the SummerSlam Slim Jim Battle Royal, it's clear that fans want to see him with either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship around his waist.
