In the shocking footage, the Boeing 767-400 jet can be seen turning slightly as its left engine erupts with a raging inferno.
The horrified onlooker recording the harrowing footage is heard commenting over the concerning scenes.
They say: "Oh, look at that. Whoa!
"Was that a compressor stall? What's going on?"
The huge aircraft continues to fly on as the terrifying fireball rages on under the plane's engine.
The fire broke out as the plane was ascending over the City of Angels.
It was on its way to Atlanta, Georgia, before it was forced to return to its takeoff point.
The pilots managed to circle back before landing safely back on the runway.
Later on in the footage, the plane is seen descending back onto the tarmac.
Its landing gear thankfully comes down before the jet lands and the engine appears to be free from anymore flames.
Travel chaos as TWO flights have mid-air emergencies within A MINUTE at major UK airport
Emergency vehicles are then seen rushing towards the aircraft in order to provide assistance.
And the jet was finally seen being escorted off of the runway back to its bay.
A spokesperson for Delta Airlines told BBC: "Delta flight 446 returned to Los Angeles shortly after departure following an indication of an issue with the aircraft's left engine."
The chilling footage was captured by YouTube channel LA Flights which is run by Josh and Peter.
The horrifying footage emerged after another Delta Airlines flight was diverted when a passenger reportedly brought a dangerous item onboard that caused a fire.
Screams rang out, smoke clouded the seats, and flight attendants rushed to grab an extinguisher after the mid-air blaze broke out, one flyer on the plane revealed.
Delta confirmed that flight 1334, which was a Boeing 757 traveling from Atlanta, Georgia, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was diverted because of a battery fire on Monday.
The airline said that attendants "worked quickly" to extinguish a battery belonging to a customer that had spontaneously combusted, a spokesperson told USA Today.

Brit orders fish and chips in Spain and is floored when he tastes his meal

Mark Danby, a UK expat who ditched Britain for a life in sunny Spain, recently found himself craving fish and chips but was left floored when he sampled an offering in Spain A British man who recently treated himself to a "humongous" portion of fish and chips in Spain was left floored when he tasted it. Mark Danby, a UK expat who hails from Stockport, Greater Manchester, ditched his life in Britain for an enviable existence on the sun-kissed shores of Spain, namely Manilva, a municipality in Malaga on the Costa del Sol. ‌ However, it seems that he has found it difficult to forget some aspects of life in the UK, particularly one of the nation's delicacies. Luckily for him, the British favourite of fish and chips appears to be readily available in his new home. ‌ Mark, who shares his continental exploits on his fledgling YouTube channel, Tapas Guy, recently found himself craving fish and chips and decided to visit a local chippy known as Marlows in CC Los Hidalgos. ‌ He decided to order a large cod and chips for €16.95 (approximately £14.65) and sat outside to eat his meal. When it arrived, Mark noted the "humongous" size of the portion. Indeed, conceding that he perhaps shouldn't have "gone for large", Mark unwrapped the paper to reveal not one but two fish in what appeared on camera to be a huge portion. ‌ Despite this, when it came to the tasting, Mark was left unimpressed. Sampling the chips first, he said: "I mean, it's okay, but it's a little bit greasy. "Don't know if you can see the grease on that, but certainly not crispy. Sort of a bit soggy, bit sort of bendy. I think it needs a sauce. Not particularly tasty, unfortunately. I mean, they're okay." Next up was the cod, which he also described as "greasy", although he conceded the second piece was "crispy on the top" and looked a "little bit better" underneath. ‌ He noted that it was a "bit flaky", but it "doesn't hold the flakiness" and proceeded to push pieces of it onto his work, but it "kind of just mushes together". He added: "I'm afraid the fish is absolutely tasteless. So what you're left I'm afraid it's tasteless fish and greasy batter. Let's try this piece of batter. Well, I have to say I'm disappointed at this point." Yet, during his summary, Mark appeared to have softened his opinion somewhat, saying the quantity and price were "pretty good value", but he wasn't a fan of the "quality" of the food, highlighting the fish in particular. He did, however, note some "mitigating circumstances", noting that the fryer could have played a "part" if they were cooking with just one, and said the tartar sauce was "very nice". Mark also mentioned that he ate a "fair amount" and conceded that it filled him up, and when it came to giving his meal a score out of ten, he gave the fish and chips a respectable seven or "possibly an eight".

Severe turbulence forces Delta plane to make emergency landing after 25 passengers injured

At least 25 people were injured in a severe case of turbulence that forced a Delta Air Lines jet flying to Amsterdam into an emergency landing in Minneapolis, the airline said in a statement. The flight had taken off from Salt Lake City in Utah but landed at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul international airport after 'significant turbulence' struck. 'Medical personnel met the flight upon arrival to evaluate customers and crew. Twenty-five of those on board were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and care,' Delta said in a statement. 'We are grateful for the support of all emergency responders involved.' Turbulence has long been a problem for air travelers, but experts say the issue is getting worse in an era of climate crisis which produces more extreme atmospheric conditions. 'We can expect a doubling or tripling in the amount of severe turbulence around the world in the next few decades,' Paul Williams, an atmospheric scientist at the University of Reading, told the BBC. The BBC reported that National Transportation Safety Board figures show that in the US alone, there have been 207 severe injuries since 2009. Severe injuries are defined as when an individual has been admitted to hospital for more than 48 hours.

Turbulence forces Delta flight to land and sends 25 passengers to hospitals, airline says

A Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam was hit by serious turbulence, injuring passengers and forcing the flight to divert to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the airline said. The flight landed around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. The airport fire department and paramedics met the flight and 25 passengers were taken to hospitals for evaluation and treatment, the airline said. Serious injuries from in-flight turbulence are rare, but scientists say they may be becoming more common as climate change alters the jet stream. A man was killed when a Singapore Airlines flight hit severe turbulence in May 2024, the first person to die from turbulence on a major airline in several decades.
