'One of her best yet': Michelle Keegan leads gripping 'edge of your seat' thriller from Fool Me Once producers
We have been loving watching Michelle Keegan embrace the thriller side of her career, first as the lead in Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once, where she played a woman reeling from the death of her husband only to find him alive on a nanny cam. And now she's stepping into another thriller series, and this time - she's playing the detective. Keegan, is set to star alongside Douglas Booth in ITV's The Blame, a drama series that promises to be an "edge of your seat" thriller, as Keegan and Booth's police characters are called in to investigate the murder of a young girl. With ITV's head of drama Polly Hill, saying of the new series: 'The Blame is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels. Megan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I'm very proud to have on ITV.' The series was just announced and already we can't wait for it to drop and so if you're just as curious as us, here's what to know about it. The Blame is a six-part ITV series, based on the novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley that will see Michelle Keegan star as DI Crane, who alongside her colleague DI Radley (Booth), will investigate the death of a young figure skater, Sophie Madsen, whose body is discovered and sends shock waves through the community. As they delve deeper into the mystery Crane discovers a web of lies and a deep level of corruption within her own team. The series is produced by Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee (who worked with Michelle on Fool Me Once), at for Quay Street Productions, who said, 'We are so delighted to be working with Megan [Gallagher, the series writer] again, she is an exceptional writer who has written a compelling series taking viewers on a twisty journey to discover what really happened through the lens of a contemporary police station brimming with secrets, corruption, and betrayal. "We are also thrilled at the brilliant cast led by Michelle and Douglas, who will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering who to trust at a time when the themes explored in The Blame are more relevant than ever.' Leading the series will be Michelle Keegan as DI Emma Crane. Michelle is of course best known for her roles in Fool Me Once, Our Girl, Ten Pound Poms and Brassic. She'll be starring alongside Douglas Booth who is playing DI Tom Radley. Over the years Douglas has had prominent roles in projects such as LOL, Romeo and Juliet, Great Expectations and The Sandman. Also joining the cast are: Unfortunately as the series has only just been announced and filming is beginning this summer in and around London, we could have quite a while to wait for the series to drop on ITV.

Adam Scott just revealed how long 'Severance' takes to film — and that could be bad news for season 3
At this point, we've been conditioned to wait a long time for "Severance" episodes. The sci-fi thriller debuted on Apple TV Plus on Feb. 18, 2022 ... and then it took another 35 months to get the season premiere of "Severance" season 2. Last month, when I wrote about Apple TV Plus head of programming Matt Cherniss signaling that season 3 could be over a year away, people were bummed, but not exactly shocked. But now we have a clearer picture of why it takes so long for new "Severance" episodes to be made. On yesterday's (Aug. 12) episode of the podcast "Good Hang with Amy Poehler," her former "Parks and Recreation" co-star, and star of "Severance," Adam Scott, sat down with her and revealed just how long it takes to film an episode of the Emmy-nominated show. "Well, it depends," Scott told his former TV wife when asked about how long it takes to film a single episode of the show. "It's long. Season 2, I think it was 186 days for the season. Which is a long time." Scott then broke it down further. "I think one episode took like six weeks and then it's averaged out because we shoot them three at a time, all mixed up together." Season 1 took even longer to film. "Season 1," Scott elaborated, "we shot the entire thing at once. So like, in month nine, we were still shooting scenes from the first episode." Still, Scott believes that this approach to filming multiple episodes at a time works to the benefit of Apple's acclaimed drama. "The accidental thing that that did," he said, referring to season 1, specifically, "You know the first few episodes of any show are a little shaky and everyone is finding their tone a little bit or their characters or whatever? It spread that out over the entire season. So it kind of felt, more or less, fully realized." Scott now joins a long list of people hammering home the point that this show takes a long time to make. Weeks-long shoots for a single episode — half a year spent filming season 2 alone — mean that annual season premieres just aren't feasible. To be fair, nobody has been promising a quick turnaround. Back in March, executive producer Ben Stiller told the ITV morning show "This Morning" that "Severance" season 3 is coming "as fast as possible," but not that it'd be here any time soon. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. 7 day free trial! Apple TV Plus gives you access to amazing originals with exciting new shows dropping all summer long. That timeline gets especially drawn out when filming hasn't even started. In his comments last month, Cherniss said that production had yet to begin on "Severance" season 3, meaning if they started filming today, they probably wouldn't even be done filming the next season of the show until the end of winter in 2026. There, admittedly, has been some mixed messaging on that front. While Cherniss says production hasn't started, in January, Stiller gave a production update on season 3 and revealed that the show's creative team was already working on the new season. A month later, in February, Stiller repeated his claim that "Severance" was already back in production, right before Apple officially greenlit season 3. It's entirely possible this is just a case of Cherniss meaning "filming" when he says production, and Stiller referring to the early pre-production work, including writing scripts. If that's the case, both of them are probably telling the truth. But regardless, I can't imagine this show entering post-production until mid-2026, at which point Apple probably holds season 3 for a January or February Apple TV Plus release date in 2027, just like it did for season 1 in 2022 and season 2 in 2025. Channel 4's In Flight cast: Meet the characters and actors, and see where you recognise them from
Another day, another gripping thriller to binge. If you're trying to escape the UK heatwave (hard relate), an evening spent in front of your TV – and a fan blasting cold air – is in order. And, luckily for us, Channel 4 has just released the perfect series to watch in one sitting: In Flight. Starring a string of famous faces (more on that in a moment), the new series follows Jo, a flight attendant whose teenage son is jailed for murder in Bulgaria. Proving that a mother's love knows no bounds, Jo enters a murky world of drug smuggling in a desperate attempt to save him across six episodes. If this sounds like your kind of TV drama (why else would you still be reading this article?) then scroll on for all the tea on the characters and cast of Channel 4's In Flight... The full cast of In Flight: Now, time for a deep-dive into where you recognise these actors from. Boarding passes at the ready! Who is Jo Conran? Jo Conran is a single mum working as a flight attendant. She's coerced by a criminal gang into *spoiler* smuggling drugs at work in order to save her son, who is imprisoned in Bulgaria for a murder he says he didn't commit. What else has Katherine Kelly been in? Most will recognise Katherine Kelly for her role as Becky in Coronation Street, but she's also starred in the likes of Happy Valley, The Night Manager, and Mr Selfridge. The list doesn't end there, though. Kelly has starred in Criminal: UK, The Long Shadow, The Crow Girl, Inside No. 9, Mr Bates vs the Post Office, Protection, and more. Who is Dominic Delaney? They say you shouldn't sh*t where you eat – that being, don't fool around with people at your workplace. But, in Jo's case, that rule doesn't apply, because Dominic Delaney is a customs officer at the same airport she works at... as well as being her ex. What else has Ashley Thomas been in? As well as being a rapper (going by the stage name, Bashy), Ashley Thomas has acted in plenty of on-screen series such as Black Mirror, Top Boy, Great Expectations, and The Serpent Queens. As far as film goes, you might recognise him from 100 Streets, Brotherhood, and 4321. Who is Cormac Kelleher? Cormac Kelleher (what a catchy name!?) is the leader of the criminal gang that coerces Jo into smuggling drugs at work. What else has Stuart Martin been in? With such a long list of TV and film appearances behind him, we'd be surprised if you don't recognise Stuart Martin. His TV acting resume includes Game of Thrones, Silent Witness, Babylon, Medici, and Crossing Lines to name a few, plus films such as Robin Hood, Army of Thieves, and Our Ladies. Who is Sonny Conran? If the surname didn't give it away, Sonny Conran is Jo's son. He's banged up in Bulgaria for an alleged murder committed while on a night out with friends – a murder he promises he didn't commit. What else has Harry Cadby been in? Harry Cadby has previously appeared in TV series such as Red Rose, Inside Man, Life After Life, Dope Girls, and Everything Now, as well as the film O'Dessa. Who is Zara Gregston? Zara Gregston is a friend and colleague of main character, Jo. What else has Ambreen Razia been in? Ambreen Razia is recognisable from her roles in Black Mirror, The Emily Atack Show, Ted Lasso, The Agency, This Way Up, Trigonometry, and Starstruck. Who is Melanie Delaney? Another game of match-the-surname-to-the-corresponding-cast-mate... Melanie Delaney is customs officer Dominic Delaney's wife. What else has Bronagh Waugh been in? Another very recognisable actor, Bronagh Waugh has a massive list of TV appearances behind her. Think: Hollyoaks, The Fall, Derry Girls, Des, Our House, The Suspect, Death in Paradise, Ridley – the list goes on! Channel 4's In Flight is available to stream on Channel 4 from Tuesday 12 August.
