The mixed bag of a summer looks set to continue in Dublin with temperatures heading above 20C today before more rain hits.
Met Eireann has warned heavy rain will hit tonight with a chance of thunderstorms also. Today will be humid with highs of 19 to 21C.
Scattered showers will hit later tonight and will become more persistent and heavy with a chance of thunderstorms and spot flooding. It will remain quite muggy overnight with temperatures of 13 to 14C.
It will be a wet start on Thursday with heavy rain and a chance of more thunderstorms with highs of 19 to 21C. The national forecast for the coming days warns of more showers but there is a chance of drier and sunnier spells next week. Here's the outlook for the coming days:
Friday
"Another humid day with outbreaks of heavy rain along with scattered thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light to moderate southerly or variable winds, fresher on eastern coasts.
"Friday night: Frequent showers will continue to spread from the south overnight, some heavy with a chance of thunderstorms. Turning misty or foggy in places in a light variable breeze. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees."
Saturday
"A showery day with some heavy showers and potential for further thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly or variable winds."
Sunday
"More in the way of dry weather on Sunday with some sunny spells and well scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees in moderate westerly winds."

New Met Eireann thunderstorm warning for 27 counties as Ireland braces for ‘hail, lightning & power cuts' in HOURS
MET Eireann has issued a multiple thunderstorm warning for almost every county in Ireland over the next few days. But thousands of people across Ireland have been urged to "keep up to date" with weather alerts over the coming hours as the Status Yellow notifications are "likely to be changed" as the forecast updates. Met Eireann said the warning, which says All of Leinster, Tipperary and Waterford will be under the alert for 12 hours, from midnight tonight until 2pm on Thursday. The Status Yellow alert will kick in at 7am tomorrow morning in Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo. The UK Met Office has also issued a Status Yellow alert for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry. Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly warned people to brace for possible impacts of thunderstorms and keep an eye for any updates to the warnings. Watch moment lightning strike 'blows all power' in popular Irish seaside town "There is a risk of some local flash flooding, hail and lightning with power outages possible." Cathal Nolan, who runs Ireland's Weather Channel, warned that "every area is at risk" of the ferocious weather but pinpointed the east to be worst-hit by the thunderstorms. He said "large hail" and "frequent lightening" can be expected. Advertisement The weather boffin explained: "A shift in the jet stream will allow high pressure to build to our east while low pressure sits to our southwest before slowly pushing northwards through Wednesday, allowing for a very warm, humid but unstable airmass to become established. "This plume of very warm air will allow for the rapid development of thunderstorms with favourable CAPE and strong shear, all combining to lead to the development of strong and locally significant thunderstorms with the potential for some disruption in or two locations. "The associated risks as we head through the second half of the week include frequent lightning, large hail and gusty winds, localised power disruption, localised flooding concerns." SUNNY SPELL RETURN Donegal Weather Channel warned that Ireland looks set to be hit by thunderstorms "for the rest of the week". Advertisement He said: "Later tonight will see some heavy showers working there way northwards up across Ireland with a weather front/ trough moving up across Ireland through Thursday morning and clearing to the north of Ulster on Thursday afternoon. "Again, later Thursday afternoon and evening there will be a risk of some heavy thundery showers developing especially across the western and northwestern half of Ireland. "Friday and Saturday there will be also the ongoing risk of thunderstorms in places." Met Eireann said Sunday will bring more dry weather. And looking towards early next week, Met Eireann said there will be some spells of rain early on but they will be lighter and patchier overall with "a better chance of dry and sunny spells".
