
Telangana family in distress as son remains abducted in Mali
The family of Kurakula Amaralingeswara Rao, a resident of Miryalaguda in Telangana, is consumed by anxiety and fear, praying for his safe return.
Rao was one of the three Indians kidnapped on July 1 during an armed assault on the Diamond Cement Factory in Kayes, western Mali.
The attack was claimed by Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda. Of the three abducted, two are Telugu-speaking.

Amaralingeswara Rao, 45, worked as a mechanical foreman at the cement factory. He previously worked with Suvarna Cements in Mellacheruvu before settling in Miryalaguda, his wife's hometown.
His wife, Venkataramana, and their three children are now waiting in silence, clinging to hope amid a complete lack of communication.
His elderly parents, Kurakula Venkateswar Rao and Rajyalakshmi, who live in Jammalamadaka village in Macherla mandal of Palnadu district in AP, are equally distraught. Speaking to STOI, Venkateswar Rao said, "My son's family is in Miryalaguda.
He went to Mali 11 years ago and has been working with the Diamond Cement factory since.

"My son studied 10th class and later got trained in an Industrial Training Institute and is a mechanic and works as a foreman. He is 45 years old," said the father, his voice trembling. "After learning about this, my blood pressure shot up. We have not been able to eat or sleep since the news broke."
No Response from Company or Promoters
Despite repeated attempts, neither Motaparthi Siva Rama Prasad of the Hyderabad-based Prasaditya Group—promoters of the Diamond Cement Group in West Africa—nor any representatives of the company have issued a statement or provided updates on the safety of the abducted Indians. Meanwhile, officials from the Indian embassy in Bamako and the Ministry of External Affairs are making efforts to secure the release of abducted Indians.

Dharmasthala mass burial case: Skeletal remains found in Banglegudde near point 11
MANGALURU: The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the alleged Dharmasthala mass burial case, reportedly found skeletal remains in Banglegudde hillock area in Belthangady taluk on Monday. The remains were found a few metres away from point 11 site, which the complainant-witness had identified last week. However, SIT officials are yet to officially confirm the findings. On the sixth day of the exhumation process, SIT officials, the complainant-witness, his advocates, labourers, the Puttur assistant commissioner, the forensic team, and Scene of Crime Officers (SoCOs) began arriving at the site around 11am. The SIT was initially expected to continue the search at point 11 located near the road connecting Dharmasthala and Ujire. However, the team diverted their operation into a nearby forest area. The complainant- witness reportedly requested the SIT to conduct searches at a place away from point 11. Earlier in the day, labourers were seen tying shade nets to block the view for outsiders. He was asked to return on Monday. After reviewing the complaint, the officials directed him to file it at the Dharmasthala police station. Accordingly, a complaint was submitted at Dharmasthala police station under 200/DPS/2025. Accountant hacks Greater Noida firm's GST portal, siphons off ₹1.80 crore with fake invoices
Greater Noida: An accountant of a Greater Noida-based home decor company was booked for allegedly siphoning off ₹1.80 crore from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal after uploading fake invoices worth ₹10 crore from December 2024 to March 2025, police said on Monday. Invoices from seven companies were found to be fake, amounting to ₹ 10 crore. 'Using the company's GST credentials, he uploaded those fake invoices and got the funds,' said an official. (Representational image) Police said the victim, 32, who did not wish to be identified and is a resident of Sector 128, runs a business in Kasna industrial area, involved in exporting home decor products. The accused, identified as Abhinav Tyagi, was working as an accountant at the company for four to five years and had all the access to the GST portal and financial details. The fraud came to light in July 2025 during a financial audit conducted by the victim's chartered accountant, the FIR read. Invoices from seven companies were found to be fake, amounting to ₹10 crore. 'Using the company's GST credentials, he uploaded those fake invoices and got the funds,' said an official. When the victim reset her company's GST credentials, it was revealed that she had to pay ₹1.80 crore to the GST department. Later, when she contacted Tyagi to inquire about the invoices and pending GST, he allegedly issued threats and blocked all contacts. A case was registered under sections of cheating, cheating by personation, forgery, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation of the BNS and IT Act . 'Efforts are underway to nab the suspect,' said Ranjeet Singh, Station House Officer of the Cybercrime Branch police station.
