PH downgrades alert level in Israel to Level 2
In a statement released on Tuesday, July 1, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) cited 'positive developments in the security situation' as the reason behind the move.
Under Alert Level 2, essential travel to Israel is now allowed, including official government visits and business delegations. Additionally, Filipino workers currently in the Philippines on vacation may return to Israel provided they hold valid Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) and re-entry visas.
However, the DFA emphasized that non-essential travel remains prohibited, particularly for pilgrims, tourists, and newly-hired overseas Filipino workers.
'The Department will closely monitor the situation in the region and will update the Alert Levels as necessary,' the DFA added.
This downgrade marks a significant easing of restrictions, which had been in place amid heightened tensions in the region in previous months.

Applying for a licensure exam or renewing your Professional ID card? Good news! The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is set to bring its services in Abu Dhabi this August, in a bid to assist Filipino professionals living and working abroad. From Aug. 23 to 26, 2025, the PRC will conduct its Foreign Mobile Service (FMS) in FIPA Schools, following successful missions in various countries such as Cambodia, Australia, Thailand, Japan, and Qatar. OWWA e-Cards for Serbisyo Caravan applicants now available at MWO-Dubai
Overseas Filipino workers who applied for an OWWA e-Card during the OFW Serbisyo Caravan can now claim it at the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai. In a social media post, MWO-Dubai and Northern Emirates shared the full list of active members who successfully applied for the e-Card, providing instructions on how and where to collect their cards. 'Available na po ang OWWA E-Card ng mga active members na nag-register sa World Trade Center, Exhibition Hall 8 sa ginanap na 2025 Bagong Bayani Serbisyo Caravan noong August 3, 2025,' the post read. Members claiming their e-Cards are advised to bring their Emirates ID or passport as proof of identity. Sara Duterte meets Filipino community in Kuwait
Vice President Sara Duterte traveled to Kuwait on Friday to meet with the Filipino community, her office said in a statement. According to the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Duterte joined overseas Filipinos for a gathering to discuss issues and concerns affecting their sector. The OVP said her visit forms part of her mandate to represent and advocate for the welfare of Filipinos abroad. The statement added that Duterte's official engagements comply with government regulations and that no public funds are being used for her overseas trips. It also stressed that the OVP and its 10 satellite offices remain ready to serve Filipinos both in the Philippines and overseas, despite limited resources. Malacañang has criticized Duterte for defending her foreign travels and for claiming that Filipinos abroad are frustrated with the state of the country. Palace Press Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the Vice President's 'personal trips' would not solve national issues, and added that it was not her duty to 'lash out and discredit' President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. In a recent interview, Duterte explained that she has been traveling abroad to meet with Filipino communities and to visit her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, whom she claimed was 'forcibly taken from Philippine soil' and detained.
