JAJ Group Adopts Centric PLM for Digital Overhaul

French apparel distributor JAJ Group, licensee for Schott NYC and Rivieras, has implemented Centric PLM™ to modernize its operations, replacing outdated ERP and manual systems. The PLM rollout—completed on time and within budget—marks a major digital shift, aimed at enhancing efficiency, streamlining data processes, and preparing for future scalability.
Previously reliant on spreadsheets and disconnected tools, JAJ Group selected Centric Software® for its industry-leading capabilities and proven track record in fashion PLM. The software centralizes product data, enabling JAJ to streamline collaborations with major retailers like Zalando, La Redoute, and Galeries Lafayette, and respond faster to CSR requirements under France's AGEC law.
According to Sophie Azzoug, Product Director at Schott NYC, the new system eliminates redundancies and boosts planning efficiency. Already in use for Schott's 2026 collection, the platform will later be integrated with a future ERP system and traceability tools like Fairly Made®, supporting both operational agility and sustainability tracking.
Fabrice Canonge, President of Centric Software, emphasized that the successful deployment highlights how Centric tailors solutions to each brand's unique needs while enabling them to scale and stay competitive in today's evolving textile industry.

Pernod Ricard India pours AI into growth mix

New Delhi: With India emerging as Pernod Ricard 's second-largest market globally by value and the largest by volume, the French liquor major is placing bold bets on technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) to drive growth, sharpen premiumization, and strengthen operational efficiency, a company's official said. 'AI is helping us move from mass marketing to high-touch, curated experiences that build stronger consumer connections,' said Simon de Beauregard , chief transformation officer at Pernod Ricard India , in an interview with ETRetail. He added that the company has built fully in-house AI capabilities to retain end-to-end control and competitive advantage. Over the last four years, the company has implemented multiple digital platforms under its Key Digital Programs (KDPs), including Maestria, which maps consumption occasions to portfolio strategy; Matrix, which links marketing spends to ROI; and D-Star, which offers outlet-level retail intelligence. Personalization, Premiumization and Predictive Tech Beauregard emphasized that tech innovation is central to Pernod Ricard India's premiumization strategy . "Tools like Maestria draw insights from 18,000 consumer interviews to match SKUs with premium consumption moments," Beauregard said. "In India, we used D-Star to adjust bottle formats according to local preferences, leading to a conversion rate to 46%, compared to the usual 10-20%. This shows how AI helps us personalize our offerings to meet the specific expectations of each market," he shared. The company is also leveraging generative AI (GenAI) to scale personalization in campaigns, he added. From supply chain planning to demand forecasting, the company is deploying AI tools to improve market responsiveness in India's complex regulatory landscape. "In a market as diverse as India, precision in forecasting is critical,' Beauregard noted. 'Data helps us fine-tune everything from portfolio strategy to store-level execution." While Pernod Ricard India's January–March (Q3 FY25) performance was softer, reporting only 1% YoY sales growth in the quarter, it was attributed to what the company termed as 'phasing technicalities' including new customs clearance procedures impacting imported spirits and a temporary production interruption in Telangana, both of which have since been resolved. Its year-to-date (April–March 2025) sales were up 5%. In its last earnings report released in April, the company said it expect a strong recovery in Q4 with catch-up sales, supported by continued demand and premiumization trends. Strong performance in brands like Jameson, Ballantine's, and Royal Stag underlined consumer appetite, particularly in the premium segment.

Anil Ambani creates history as his company becomes first in India to..., plans to invest Rs 50000000000, the company is...

Anil Ambani (File) In another major success for businessman Anil Ambani, his company, Reliance Infrastructure, has scripted history in India's defense sector, by becoming the first private firm to independently carry out a complete upgrade programme of a military aircraft without an original manufacturer (OEM). According to details, Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infra has successfully upgraded 55 Dornier-228 aircraft under a contract signed with state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), in which US-based Genesys Aerosystems was also a technical partner. The initial contract was for 37 aircraft, but Reliance Infra secured another order for 18 more Dornier-228 upgrades after successfully completing the first order. The entire project will cost an estimated Rs 350 crore. Reliance Infra eyeing upgrade contracts worth Rs 5000 crore Meanwhile, the Anil Ambani-led company is now eyeing upgrade opportunities worth Rs 5,000 crore in the defense sector over the next 7 to 10 years. As per experts, Indian armed forces have thousands of aging military aircraft and helicopters with a service life of about 30-40 years, but these platforms require regular and timely upgrades, including upgradation of avionics, mission systems and safety equipment, to keep them relevant in the evolving modern warfare scene. Upgrade and maintenance can cost up to 200-300% of the platform's original cost over its lifecycle, and the global market for upgrading older military platforms with latest hardware is pegged at around Rs 5 lakh crore, which is expected to hit Rs 7 lakh crore in the next few years. Anil Ambani's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' plan Notably, Anil Ambani's Reliance Infra is partnering with global defense firms as it plans to scale up its upgrade services for military aircraft and other platforms, a move which aligns with the Narendra Modi government's ambitious 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, that aims to make India self-reliant in manufacturing, including defense. Reliance Infrastructure is also working closely with French defense manufacturer, Thales, as part of the Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) programme of Rafale fighter jets in India, Additionally, Reliance Defence, a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure, has partnered with German arms maker Rheinmetall AG to manufacture propellants and explosives in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district. The two partners will set up a factory as part of the proposed 1,000-acre Dhirubhai Ambani Defence City. Earlier, Reliance Defence signed similar deals with French Dassault Aviation and Thales, in addition to inking a deal with German arms maker Rheinmetall AG to manufacture artillery shells and ammunition in India. In a recent statement, Anil Ambani revealed that his goal was to make Reliance Defence among India top three defence exporters.
