‘Snout or never': Stafford County deputy helps 400-pound pig give birth
On March 5, at around 2:30 p.m., a deputy responded to an obstetrics call in North Stafford.

SCSO said it was 'snout or never,' and a deputy hand-delivered two female piglets.
'We are all squealing with joy!' SCSO said in a post on Facebook.

Hall Co. escaped inmate steals motorcycle, leads deputies on multi-state chase, officials say
An inmate on work release is back in custody after deputies said he led them on a multi-state chase. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Monday, Stephens County deputies tried to stop a black motorcycle. The sheriff's office said they were notified that the driver, later identified as 39-year-old Daniel Jesse Bell of Braselton, was an escaped inmate from Hall County. The SCSO said Bell cut off his ankle monitor before leaving the area earlier Monday afternoon and the motorcycle was also possibly stolen from Hall County. Deputies said they spotted the motorcycle traveling on Highway 123. When they tried to stop Bell, he sped away. Stephens County deputies chased Bell into South Carolina, where Oconee County, S.C. deputies took over. Deputies tried to arrest Bell, who was tased after refusing to listen to deputies' commands. When Bell was tased, deputies realized he was on fire and rushed to put out the flames. Oconee deputies then took Bell into custody. Due to his burn injuries, Bell was taken to a burn center for treatment, where he remains in custody. Johnston man killed in wrong-way, head-on Highway 30 crash
STORY COUNTY, Iowa — A head-on crash east of Ames Wednesday night left a Johnston man dead and a Slater woman hospitalized. The Story County Sheriff's Office said it responded to a crash at Highway 30 and Sand Hill Trail at 11:30 p.m. Officials say the investigation into the collision indicates a Jeep Renegade driven by 41-year-old Ashley Taylor was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30 when it struck a Chevy Impala head-on. Iowa teen killed in head-on crash in Jefferson County The driver of the Impala, 26-year-old Christian Royston, was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was transported to a Des Moines hospital by air ambulance. The SCSO said she suffered serious injuries in the crash. The crash investigation is ongoing. 10-year-old son of GA deputy hospitalized after bike accident
A Georgia law enforcement community is rallying around one of their own after a deputy's child was involved in an ATV accident. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Saturday, just after 4 p.m., Stephens County deputies and first responders were called to a dirt bike accident near East Leatherwood Road. The child, later identified as a 10-year-old as Bentley Chappelear, was airlifted to a Greenville, SC hospital with head injuries. According to the sheriff's office, Bentley is the son of Franklin County Deputy Randy Chappelear and the nephew of Stephens County Deputy Aaron Chappelear. 'Our hearts go out to Randy, his wife Courtney, their son Bentley, and the entire Chappelear family. We continue to lift up Bentley and his family in prayer, and we are so proud of Bentley's strength in this scary time,' the SCSO said. 'He was unconscious for roughly two days with the sedation they put him under. He wasn't able to breathe on his own, but starting last night around 9:30 p.m., they took the tube out. He is now breathing on his own but still struggles with his breath at times,' Cleveland wrote. As of Wednesday, Cleveland says Bentley is continuing to work hard and is 'determined to be a normal little boy again.' Randy and Courtney Chappelear continue to stay beside Bentley as he recovers.
